[POV - Narrator]

Life had returned to its natural rhythm, like a familiar symphony that always plays the same melody. Tick-tock, tick-tock — the clock of routine marked each day identical to the last. Rito walked to classes surrounded by his personal Pseudo-harem, the girls competing for his attention like birds fighting over crumbs, while Lala... well, Lala being Lala, creating her inventions that always ended in BOOM! and confusion.

It was almost comforting, this chaotic normalcy.

Almost.

Because deep in the cosmos, something was moving. Something that would tear this false peace apart like wet paper.

WHOOOOSH!

A "comet" cut through the night sky, leaving a trail of fire that looked like a burning scar on the face of the night. But it wasn't any meteor — it was trouble.

[POV Change - Third Person]

CRASH! BOOM!

The explosion echoed across the field like the roar of an enraged dragon. Flames danced wildly, licking the air with hungry tongues of destruction.

— What the hell was that?! — A woman came running out of the nearby barn, shotgun in hand, her heart beating like a war drum. Clack-clack — the sound of the weapon being cocked cut through the silence that followed.

From the flames emerged a figure — shining galactic armor, flying as if gravity were merely a suggestion. The being approached the woman with the elegance of someone who had just stepped out of a cheap sci-fi movie.

— Where is Japan? — he asked with a voice that echoed inside his helmet. — Do you know someone called Yuuki Rito?

The woman shook her head, pointing with a trembling finger eastward.

— Japan... is that way. But this Rito...

Smooch!

Before she could finish, the stranger planted a kiss on her forehead and flew away like a miscalibrated rocket.

— WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?! — she shouted at the empty sky, but he was already just a point of light disappearing on the horizon.

[POV Change - Rito]

Tap-tap-tap.

Our footsteps echoed on the sidewalk in a familiar cadence — me, Lala, Haruna, and Asia following the path to school like every blessed day. But something... I don't know, there was a strange taste in the air. Like when you know it's going to rain before the clouds appear.

— For some reason, I don't have a good feeling — I muttered, scratching my neck.

WHOOOOSH!

Right at that moment, the so-called "comet" passed over us like a razor cutting through the blue sky.

— WOOOOW! — Lala jumped like a child seeing fireworks. — Rito! Let's go see what that is!

I laughed at her excitement. Sometimes I forgot how... curious she was. To put it mildly.

Later, Lala dragged me to the school infirmary — claiming I needed "special medical care." Hehe. I knew very well what kind of care she had in mind.

Click.

The infirmary door closed behind us with a sound that promised mischief.

— Now — Lala pushed me onto the hospital bed, her eyes shining with that mischief I knew so well — you're going to be my special patient.

Zap!

Peke transformed into a nurse outfit, leaving Lala with that look... damn, what a look. Blood rushed to my face like an elevator in a tall building.

Before I could protest, she threw herself on top of me, our lips meeting in a dance we knew by heart. Mmm... God, how I loved this woman.

Creak.

The door opened.

— Well, well — the real nurse appeared in the doorway, arms crossed and a mischievous smile on her face. — Do we have two troublemakers skipping class?

My cheeks caught fire, but I didn't stutter. I'd already passed the phase of being completely lost — now I just got... let's say, slightly embarrassed.

Lala, clever as always, pulled out a thermometer from nowhere.

— I was trying to measure his temperature! Tehe! — she made that little angel face that fooled everyone. Except me.

Beep.

37.5°C. Normal as hell.

— You can go — said Mitokado-sensei, trying to hide a smile. — And get back to class.

Lala deflated like a punctured balloon, her cheeks puffing with frustration. I knew what she wanted to "examine." Every. Single. Part. Of me.

[Leaving school]

Step-step-step.

We walked back home — me, Lala, Haruna, and Asia — when that strange feeling returned. Like ants crawling up my spine.

— Seems like that strange feeling is back — I grumbled.

Asia, sweetness personified, ran in front of me with her hands glowing green.

— Let me see — she murmured, running Twilight Healing over me. But soon she frowned. — Rito-san, I believe everything is fine.

That's when he appeared.

CRASH! BOOM!

The meteor-man crashed right in front of us, raising a cloud of dust that looked like giant's cigarette smoke.

— MUHAHAHAHA! — What a weird laugh, damn.

Lala stepped forward, already imagining it was another suitor. She sighed like someone already tired of this nonsense.

— Hm... Who are you? — she asked, clearly not remembering anything.

— Don't you remember me?! — The guy seemed genuinely shocked. — How can you forget ME?!

Lala nodded yes — she had indeed forgotten. Without remorse.

— Lala-sama — Peke, always helpful, commented — that's a Kiraraian outfit.

— Ah! — Lala clapped as if she'd discovered the cure for cancer. — Rocket-man Kiraraian!

— It's not rocket! It's Pikari! — he protested, looking like a boy throwing a tantrum.

— Whatever — Lala shrugged, already taking my hand. — Bye!

— WAIT! — Pikari shouted like a child abandoned at the mall. — I'm here just to see you!

— Huh? Why are you here to see me? — Lala tilted her head, genuinely confused.

— I heard you're engaged. Is that true? — he struck a cartoon hero pose.

Lala nodded confirmation.

— And I heard you'd marry an Earthling? Don't tell me... it's this boring kid?

— RITO ISN'T BORING! — Lala exploded like a volcano.

— I don't want to hear that from a man who wears underwear over his clothes — I shot back, giving him a look of contempt.

— What?! This suit is high technology! Symbol of Kirara, with unlimited beauty standards!

— Wow, such advanced technology — I commented with sarcasm sharp as a razor. — If I took the high technology I provided to the Celestial Kingdom, this would look low-level. Nanotechnology became standard there.

— If you want technology, why don't you go to Capsule Corporation? — Asia suggested timidly.

— That's right — I agreed. — If that's all there is, then you can leave.

— NO! — Pikari shouted and shot upward like an uncontrolled rocket.

— What's wrong with this guy? — I muttered.

— Geez... I don't remember Pikari because he always disappeared suddenly — Lala explained.

— Kiraraians are always like that — Peke commented.

— Very well, then. Let's go home, Rito — Lala pulled my arm.

— Wait! — Haruna interjected. — This guy seems kind of... unstable. Is it really okay to leave him like this?

— He'll be fine — Asia tried to be diplomatic. — Maybe he just needs space to... process.

THUD!

Pikari landed right in front of me like a misdirected missile.

— You're not leaving! — he declared dramatically.

I felt his approach and instinctively created a force shield. For the first time that day, I got serious. My eyes narrowed, launching that look I usually reserved for real threats — like when Goku faces Frieza.

— Now you've irritated me — I spoke with a voice cold as Arctic ice. — Do you by any chance want to hurt someone?

But the idiot completely ignored me.

— Lala, why have a commitment with this guy when you can have ME! — he said shamelessly.

I narrowed my eyes and began releasing energy from my body. The air around began to vibrate like a violin string.

Still ignoring me, he moved toward my fiancée.

— I'm the only one who can be by your side, aren't I? — he asked, already very close to her.

He tried to extend his arm to wrap around Lala.

I grabbed his invasive hand. He made a grimace of pain.

— Now — I spoke slowly, each word weighing tons — my fiancée said she didn't even remember you. And you want to get very close? Either you're very arrogant, or you're a fool.

WHOOSH!

He threw a punch at my face. I could have dodged easily — the movement was slow as a turtle climbing uphill. But I didn't dodge.

I let it hit.

THUNK!

The impact hit my face, but it was like punching a steel wall.

Lala, Haruna, and Asia instantly became furious, but before any of them could attack, I gripped his arm tighter.

He began to double over in pain, wondering if he had hit my face or a metal plate.

— Since you attacked me — I spoke calmly — retaliation is appropriate.

WHAM!

I threw a punch at his stomach, also hitting the rocket control device. Crack! The thing shattered like glass.

Pikari was launched like a cannonball. SONIC BOOM! He broke the sound barrier, flew straight to the sea. Splash-splash-splash! He bounced on the water a few times before sinking like a stone.

Even Lala shuddered seeing the impact.

— Umm, Rito-kun, is everything okay? — she asked, her voice carrying double concern: for the punch to my face and the possibility that I had killed the guy.

I shook my head negatively.

— My face is fine. His punch was very weak. As for what I gave him, he's not human. All I did was take the force of his punch as a base and the impact of the rockets he was making to calculate a punch strong enough to knock him out. At the same time, I damaged...

WHOOOOSH!

The same man came out of the sea bottom like a human torpedo, flying straight to space.

— ...I damaged his propulsion system — I finished, scratching my head. — He'll get out of the sea bottom. As for what comes next... that's his problem. Though I'll keep an eye out.

— Let's go home — they all said in unison, like a tired chorus.

And so, another "normal" day in Yuuki Rito's life came to an end. Normal, of course, being a very relative term when you're a god disguised as a Japanese student.

Sigh.

Sometimes even I wondered how my life had become this whole madness.
