Chapter 14 - Chapter 14 I Like Tying Yours

Aunt Yang's words made Gu Qimiao's heart race; she also hoped that she was the special one for him.

But she understood the reality well—he helped her perhaps only because they had lived together as children; if they had met by chance, he probably wouldn't interfere in her affairs.

Aunt Yang's cooking was quite good, but she missed the taste of Shen Yanchen's cooking even more.

After dinner, Aunt Yang cleaned up and left. Gu Qimiao walked to the sofa, sat at the other end, and watched financial news with Shen Yanchen.

She couldn't understand it, but didn't find it boring at all. Instead, she wished time would slow down so she could spend more time with him.

As she watched, her head started to feel heavy, and her brain ached.

Shen Yanchen answered a phone call, looked at her, and saw that she had already fallen asleep with her head tilted.

While responding softly on the phone, he pulled the blanket from the sofa and covered her.

After hanging up, he gently laid her down flat on the sofa, turned off the TV, went to the bedroom to get a quilt, set the air conditioning to a comfortable temperature, left a small light on, and then went out.

There were still many matters at the Gu company that needed to be dealt with.

The next day, when Gu Qimiao woke up, he was already gone, and she wouldn't see him for several days as he was on a business trip.

She still had some time before her drawing submissions were due, and she had also taken medical leave, so there was no need to go to work, giving her an excuse to hide for a few days.

Running into Lu Jinxi there yesterday was no coincidence; he must have known she worked there.

If she didn't go to work for the next few days, he might think she was no longer working there, and she wouldn't need to worry about it anymore.

On the fourth day, Gu Moming, after much fuss, was finally discharged from the hospital and returned to the Gu family home.

She no longer needed to visit the hospital, leaving Gu Qimiao feeling somewhat bored.

Aunt Yang came over at noon to cook a meal, but she lied, saying she was going out for dinner with friends that evening so Aunt Yang wouldn't need to come over.

That evening, returning to Shen Yanchen's place, it was cold and empty with only her there.

She checked the calendar and realized it had been several days. When exactly would he come back?

"Ding—Ding—" The mobile phone on the coffee table rang; it was Gu Moming calling.

Gu Qimiao lazily asked, "What's up?"

"Come out for dinner."

Not feeling up to it, Gu Qimiao made an excuse, "It's too cold, I don't want to go out."

"Give me the address, I'll come pick you up."

Gu Qimiao hesitated, then said, "Your foot hasn't healed yet, you're not allowed to drive. You tell me where to go, and I'll come over now."

"I'm at the small square, come out and we'll talk."

After dazing on the sofa for a while, she went to her room to change clothes.

It was colder at night than during the day, and she was shivering even after getting on the bus.

The small square was a commercial hub with quite a few people around. After getting off the bus, Gu Qimiao called him, "Where are you?"

Before he could respond, a hand was placed on her shoulder, "I saw you on the bus, silly."

Gu Qimiao hung up the phone, "If you saw me, why did you still answer the call? Wasting money."

He was wearing black fitted pants and a military green down jacket, with only a thin base layer inside, which made Gu Qimiao feel cold just looking at him.

"Aren't you cold, didn't you stay in the hospital long enough?"

He gave her a disdainful look, "You wrapped up so thickly, don't you think you look short and fat and ruin the city's image?"

"You're the one who's short and fat!"

He tapped her head, then pulled the gray-white scarf looped around her neck, wrapping it around his neck too, leaving one loop around her neck.

He was tall; when he stood up straight, Gu Qimiao's neck felt choked. She loosened the scarf a bit, glared at him, and asked, "Where's the one I bought for you?"

"I have it."

"Then why don't you wear it?"

"I like wearing yours."

In the snow, the man walked leisurely with his hands in his pockets. The girl walked beside him, nearly a head shorter, looking cute with her hat, scarf, and gloves, all furry.

Seeing the gray-white scarf connecting the two of them, people around them would definitely think they were a loving young couple...
