Long Wu started the car with a "whoosh," speeding off. Leng Mochen shook his head with a laugh; this guy really had quite the temper!
He turned to go inside but wondered to himself if Li Si and Buding were already asleep. The thought of going back to face the crowd felt utterly unappealing.
He pulled out his phone to check the time, and in the end, couldn't resist giving her a call.
Li Si and Bai Shasha had just been about to drift off when her phone rang. "You're not asleep?"
"How could I sleep when I'm thinking of you?" His voice, rich and deep, came through the receiver, and in the quiet of the night, Li Si found it incredibly soothing.
"I miss you too!" Li Si replied, only to earn a dramatic eye roll from Bai Shasha. "Oh my God, how cheesy!" Shasha mumbled under her breath, teasingly rubbing her arm as if she'd gotten goosebumps.
One sharp glare from Li Si, and Shasha went quiet.
