"Grandma, what's wrong? Did Ling Xing upset you?"
As Mi Jing reached the staircase, she heard the old lady's voice and saw her looking displeased, so she asked with concern.
"It's nothing. I was just chatting with Ling Xing." The old lady, who had been wearing a stern expression since entering the house, immediately relaxed and gave a gentle smile upon seeing Mi Jing. "Did I wake you? Why not sleep a bit more?"
"I'm already awake," Mi Jing replied with a beaming smile.
Initially, she wanted to stay in bed a bit longer, but after waiting awhile and not seeing Shen Lingxing come upstairs, she thought perhaps an important guest or a familiar person had arrived. So, she quickly freshened up and came down.
"Come, sit with me and chat a bit," the old lady said warmly and lovingly to Mi Jing, her voice filled with affection.
Shen Lingxing was already used to the old lady's obvious favoritism toward his wife. After all, since she doted on his wife, he was happy about it.
