Angel woke up in the morning, as wednesdays were given as a break days for students to enjoy their socialization in the academy.
In the hunters class training room, Angel held his blood spear with concentration and focus.
"Haah!", Angel shouted with force.
He wielded his spear as he envisioned it in his mind.
"Hah-hah.", Angel panted.
"What are you trying to do?"
Angel turned at the direction of the voice.
"Moira?", Angel said.
"The way you used the spear is like an otaku that's trying to do flashy moves like in the anime.", Moira laughed.
"This goth girl, she's sharp.", Angel said to himself.
"What are you trying to do by training with a spear?", Moira asked.
"None of your business.", Angel turned his back.
As Angel turned, with quick speed, Moira was able to swiftly move to Angel's front before he could completely turn.
"What the!?", Angel said shocked.
"How did you..?", Angel asked.
"If you want to learn how use a spear, it's best if you learn it with an opponent!", she smiles widely.
She took her daggers from her shorts and lunged at Angel with speed.
"F-fast!", Angel said to himself.
"You could die if you don't block this.", she said whilst staring at Angel's neck.
Moira aimed the left dagger at Angel's neck whilst the right dagger was aimed at his torso.
"I can't block this!", Angel said as he tried to cover his neck with his arm.
Before both could reach its destination, she stopped before the tips of the dagger could touch him.
"Pathetic, I was expecting more to be honest.", she said with disappointment.
As Angel fell to his knees in defeat, the blood spear fell into a puddle of blood.
"I'll get going, that was a nice warmup for the morning.", she said as she exited the training room.
Angel stayed on the floor for a while, wondering at his weaknesses.
"Nothing has changed even after receiving this power, I'm still the same as I was!", Angel shouted.
Soon after, Angel heard footsteps walking towards him.
"It's okay to feel defeat, as long as you're able to stand after it.", Malachi said, offering his hand.
"I'm still the weak person I am now, if I hadn't received this power, I would have still been the source of bullying back in Japan.", Angel said as he took Malachi's hand and stood up.
"Well, I usually felt that back when brother was still here. Nobody could rival his ability nor his intelligence, that is why he was hailed as the greatest out of all the vampires that exists before and today.", Malachi said.
"Though before, my brother wasn't always like that. He was born with a terminal illness, that is why delved into books, hoping that he could break free from the shackles of his impending death."
"That is also where he resorted in forbidden magic.", he said seriously.
"Forbidden magic?", Angel asked with a curious face.
"It's also known as demonic energy. The very power that allows us to bend and manipulate the blood of mankind.", Malachi said.
"Wait, but doesn't that mean it's forbidden by the mage faction's rules?", Angel said.
"Well it is, but there's also nothing they can do our situation as demonic power has become a part of our lives, same as the mages that are born with great magic power.", Malachi replied.
"The thing is Angel, you weren't born like my brother, somebody who desperately needed something to change his life."
"Though you did receive his blood but it doesn't mean you are the most powerful, since my brother didn't grow that way.", Malachi said.
"I'll give you a goal, one month from now, an event will start where students will prove their power to each other. Become the victor of that event and bring the approriate glory worthy of my brother's reputation.", Malachi said as he left the training room.
"Wait, but you haven't even taught me anything yet...!", Angel watched him walk away.
"Hmph...", Angel clenched his fist.
"Back then, the memories of Cain back then that I saw during the fight with that winged guard. Just how was I able to see that...?", Angel pondered.
With no rest, Angel continued to use the spear till tomorrow came.
"Do you not sleep?", Latisha asked Angel as she looks at Angel's tired expression.
"Shut up...", Angel said, rubbing his tired eyes.
The attention soon went to the professor at the front, all the students were gathered at the outdoor training grounds for their current subject while wearing hunter uniforms similar to that of a military soldier's uniform.
The training grounds was filled with archery targets, obstacle courses and designated sparring circles embedded on the ground.
The class was lead by Captain Ulric Ivanov, a retired naval hunter who was active during the world war and was fairly known for his leadership.
"Listen up recruits. Today's class focuses on tactical formations - the bedrock of coordinated action. Whether you stalk in the shadows like a vampire, control arcane energies like a mage or transform under the moon like a werewolf, understanding the key movements and strategy can be the difference between survival and becoming another casualty.", he shouted.
Captain Ulric gestures the assistant mage behind him to project the screen with magic.
As it appeared, the student's eyes widened as they saw the image in front of them
Angel looked at the contents of the image with confusion and dread as he observes the terrifying monstrosity in front of him.
"After the fall of the Blood Lord Cain on the autumnal equinox of the year -2997. Approximately three millenia later, on the summer solstice of the year 3, the world began to experience incursions from the other realms.", Ulric sweeped his eyes at the standing students.
"The emergence of entities we classify as otherworldy demonic beings came.", he said seriously.
The expressions of the students became serious as well.
"The monster you see here are not creatures of shadow and instinct, like many vampires or werewolves. Nor do they wield the arcane energies of magic."
"These beings are often physically powerful, inherently aggressive and possess a malevolent intelligence for destruction and death.", he said.
"Their origins and weaknesses are ultimately unknown and their sheer brute force necessitates for specialized tactics and weaponry."
"As this bastards caused major damage to the point of threatening our world of human extinction."
"During your time here in our class, you will first come to learn the movements and tactics against such creatures as many failed and died from discovering this strategies, it does not just include us hunters but also the other factions lost their lives as well.", he stated.
"I will be dividing you all into separate groups, that will act as squads till your final exam for the first month. Am I clear!", he shouted.
"Sir yes sir.", they all shouted.
And thus, the introduction of the hunter class and a new discovery for Angel.
