When they turned and looked at me, I felt… something. It was like the moment slowed. Their faces lit up at the same time. This had never happened to me before.
"Hey," Sebastian said as he walked up and kissed my cheek.
And before my mom could start with the stories or ask too many questions, I quickly stepped in.
"Bye, Mom! We're leaving now," I said, practically pushing Sebastian out of the house.
He laughed as I tugged him along. "You're really not going to let your mom tell me childhood stories, huh?"
"Oh please, don't tell me that's what the two of you were talking about."
He grinned. "Not exactly."
He walked around to open the car door for me, kissed my hand, and helped me inside. Sebastian was a gentleman. The perfect kind. And as I sat in the car, I quietly hoped… maybe, just maybe, he could help me forget about him who shall not be thought of tonight
"Before our night starts," Sebastian said, just as he slid into the driver's seat and turned the key.
