Chapter 395 - Chapter 394: Peace

"Second brother should be there. Big Brother, you aren't going to hit him, are you?"

Torifu gave him a fake smile. "Of course not. Don't worry, I'm just going to have a little talk with him."

Torifu walked to the backyard and, sure enough, heard the sounds of various machines vibrating in the lab. He went inside and saw Amado busily fiddling with a machine. Torifu walked over and patted him on the shoulder. "What are you doing, little brother?"

Amado was startled by the voice. The item in his hand slipped and fell to the ground. He turned around and was shocked! His big brother had returned!

"B-Big Brother, how are you back so soon? How was the war?"

Torifu smiled slightly. "Don't worry about the war for now. I remember telling you to take care of Minato before I left. Are you taking care of a machine instead?"

Amado nervously covered the machine behind him and wiped the sweat from his forehead. "It's a misunderstanding. This is a misunderstanding."

Torifu crossed his arms. "Hmm. Tell me about it. Let me see how it's a misunderstanding."

Amado stammered for a long time but couldn't explain himself. Torifu sighed. "I've given you enough freedom, haven't I? I basically haven't restricted any of your actions, and yet you wouldn't even take care of Minato for a short while?"

"Have I been too lenient with you?"

Amado could tell that his brother was truly angry, so he immediately shook his head and said, "No, no, no. Big Brother, please don't be angry. I was just working overtime to improve some of the appliances because the villagers reported that there were a few problems."

"As for Minato, I admit it was my fault. I haven't considered him these past few days."

Seeing that Amado's attitude was sincere and that he had given his reason, Torifu didn't continue to reprimand him. He had only intended to have a little talk with him. Amado was a grown man; Torifu couldn't possibly beat him up.

"Don't let it happen again, Amado."

"I won't, Big Brother. I promise."

With his anger now gone, Torifu asked Amado what the problems were that he had to work on for so many days.

"A few villagers reported that their washing machines would suddenly shut down when they were in the spin cycle, and the TVs would get hot after being on for more than an hour."

"But they were only individual issues. Most of the appliances are fine. These might have been because of the workers' oversights."

"But to eliminate all hidden dangers, I double-checked everything. I was just doing that when you came in."

After hearing this reason, Torifu's anger completely disappeared. It was a relief that he wasn't secretly researching some useless stuff.

"Hanzō of the Land of Rain escaped, and we won."

Without Amado even asking, Torifu voluntarily told him about the war, including the number of deaths. Amado also felt bad. Although the casualties were very low, they were still ninja from their village.

Torifu sighed. "The formal funeral will be held in two days. They'll be buried in the Hero's Memorial. They deserve to be remembered."

"Okay, I'll be there."

After that, the two brothers talked about a few more things, and then Torifu left the lab, not wanting to disturb Amado any longer.

He returned to the front yard, where Minato had already skillfully prepared dinner and was waiting for him.

"Hehe, Big Brother, dinner's ready. Come eat!"

Torifu was a little dazed for a moment. He had been thinking about making dinner for Minato, but he had already made it. Seeing this, he smiled and sat down at the table. "Mmm, it smells great, and it looks good, too."

Minato grinned. "I'm glad you like it, Big Brother."

"I love it, of course."

Torifu then told Minato what Amado had been busy with recently. Upon learning that he was repairing appliances for the villagers, Minato was no longer angry. Although he had been a little lonely these past few days, he had learned to cook, so he had made some progress.

"How's the Flying Thunder God Jutsu coming along?"

"I've entered the third stage. My speed has slowed down, but I can definitely learn the Flying Thunder God Jutsu within one or two years."

Torifu reached out and ruffled Minato's hair. "Keep up the good work."

Minato shoveled a few mouthfuls of rice into his mouth. "Big Brother, what about the war? Were there any casualties..."

"Yes. More than four hundred people died. There were a lot of people whose names I didn't even know."

In this regard, Torifu couldn't compare to Hashirama. Hashirama knew the names of every single one of his clansmen who followed him. Torifu only knew a very limited number of people. In fact, very few people could be like Hashirama. At least in the entire Naruto world, there was only one. Minato also felt bad after hearing this, but there was nothing he could do. This was what war was like. Even though he had never experienced it himself, he knew it from the number of casualties. His Grand Sensei, the Second Hokage, and his big brother had all been on the battlefield, along with many other clan heads. And yet, even with so many powerful people protecting them, there were still over four hundred casualties. The casualties in the other ninja villages must have been even more tragic.

"What about the Land of Rain? Did we win?"

Torifu smiled. He didn't want this sadness to affect Minato too much.

"Of course. We occupied the entire Land of Rain and divided it into three equal parts for each of our three nations to govern. In the future, Amegakure will become a central hub where the three countries can meet."

This was a huge piece of good news. Even Minato was happy after hearing it. With this hub, the relationship between the three nations would surely become much closer. If there were no wars between the great ninja nations, the ninja world should also become more peaceful. He hoped no one would get hurt again.

After dinner, Torifu washed the dishes and watched Minato practice his ninjutsu for a while in the yard before going inside. The event of the Second Great Ninja War still hadn't shown as completed, and he didn't know why. It might be because the subsequent effects of the war hadn't been eliminated, such as the division of Amegakure and the burial of the fallen ninja. It would take some time to resolve these matters, but Torifu wasn't in a hurry. He would just take it one step at a time. The outcome of this event was probably not perfect, so Torifu was prepared for his Chaos Points to increase. But he had a lot of Peace Points on hand, which he could use to counteract it.

He was very tired from his travels. More importantly, seeing his deceased comrades had been mentally exhausting. He was finally able to rest after returning home. He had to get a good night's sleep. After a quick wash, Torifu lay down on the bed and fell into a deep sleep. In a daze, he thought he could still hear Minato practicing his ninjutsu in the yard. But sleepiness overcame him, and Torifu didn't have the energy to tell him to come in. The moment he closed his eyes, he fell into a dream.
