Chapter 26 - Chapter 26

When we arrived at the missile room, Momo and I immediately got to work. The room was spacious, with high ceilings and large windows letting in natural light. The dummy missile stood in the center, its metallic surface gleaming under the fluorescent lights. We had five minutes to prepare, and we made every second count.

Momo's Quirk was in full swing as she began creating tools and gadgets to give us the upper hand. First, she produced several lightning rods, which I carefully planted throughout the building. I made sure they were hidden in inconspicuous locations—behind walls, under furniture, and even in the ceiling. These rods would redirect Kaminari's electricity, neutralizing his Quirk's effectiveness.

Next, Momo created earmuffs to protect us from Jiro's sound-based attacks. She also made smoke bombs, flashbang grenades, and stun grenades, handing them to me with a confident smile. "These should give us the advantage we need," she said, her voice calm but determined.

With everything ready, we took our positions and waited for the heroes to arrive. I activated my newly acquired Ki Sensing Technique, a skill I had unlocked during the Quirk assessment test the day before. The technique acted like a radar, allowing me to sense the location of anyone within a 100-meter radius. It was incredibly useful, especially in a situation like this.

I sensed Kaminari and Jiro entering the building, their movements cautious but deliberate. Jiro immediately began using her Quirk, inserting her earphone jacks into the walls to sense our location. I knew hiding from her was pointless—her sound-based detection was too precise. But there was a drawback to her Quirk: she couldn't sense us while moving. If we moved to a different location and stayed silent and still after she identified our initial location, she might misinterpret our location.

I glanced at Momo and signaled, "Get ready." She nodded, her expression focused. We had already discussed the plan, and now it was time to execute it.

Kaminari was more relaxed than usual, chatting with Jiro as they moved cautiously toward our floor. Jiro's expression was all business, her eyes scanning every corner, every shadow, as if she already knew something was off. I kept my breathing steady, not making a single sound, while Momo stood a few meters behind me, adopting a defensive stance.

The plan relied on perfect timing, so I stayed quiet, trusting the preparations we'd made. I could hear the subtle sounds of Kaminari's footsteps behind me, and I knew they were close.

As they neared the hallway, I checked my surroundings once more, making sure I was in the perfect position. I could feel the tension building in the air. I threw a smoke bomb into the hallway, landing it just at their feet. The moment it hit the floor, it exploded, releasing thick, suffocating smoke that enveloped them in seconds.

A thick cloud of smoke that obscured their vision.

Jiro's eyes widened in confusion, and for a split second, I saw a flicker of uncertainty in her gaze as the smoke enveloped her. Kaminari's voice cracked with confusion as he stumbled, his hands instinctively shooting up to shield his face from the light

"What the—?!" Kaminari exclaimed, his voice muffled by the smoke.

I didn't give them time to recover. I followed up with a flashbang grenade and a stun grenade, tossing them into the smoke. The flashbang exploded with a blinding light, followed by a deafening sound that disoriented the heroes. They stumbled, their hands instinctively covering their ears and eyes.

This was our moment. I launched myself forward, my Ki-enhanced speed carrying me through the smoke in an instant. I landed in front of Jiro, who was still reeling from the flashbang. Her eyes were closed, and her hands were pressed against her ears. She didn't even see me coming.

I struck her with a Flowing Wave Palm, channeling a controlled burst of Ki into the attack. The force of the blow knocked her off her feet, and she crumpled to the ground, unconscious. Kaminari, still disoriented, tried to gather his bearings, but it was too late. I closed the distance between us and delivered a precise strike to his chest, knocking him out as well.

With both heroes incapacitated, I turned to Momo and signaled for her to create some rope. She nodded and quickly produced a length of sturdy cord, which I used to tie up Kaminari and Jiro. I also made sure to remove Jiro's support equipment speakers, to ensure she couldn't interfere if she woke up.

As I finished securing the heroes, All Might's voice boomed through the building. "Villains win!"

The announcement brought a sense of satisfaction, but I didn't let it go to my head. This was just a training exercise, and there was still much to learn. Momo and I exchanged a nod, both of us pleased with how well our plan had worked.
