Chapter 97 - CHAPTER 97 THE WAR BETWEEN FATHER AND SON (3)

The Ancient Imperial Calendar, Year 1820

Dazzling, brighter than the sun, whiter than snow—that is Nur.

The origin of this power is unknown. Only its user can wield it as they wish.

If they desire, it can take shape like Aura; if they desire, it can bring destruction like a spell; or it can save the life of someone on the brink of death.

Nur is a mysterious power capable of doing almost anything.

Orsman had formed a massive orb of Nur in his hand.

Ricardo had created a shield of Nur around himself for defense.

"It's too late to attack. Even if I deflect this attack, it will be very difficult to find an opportunity to counterattack."

Orsman spoke in a dark and threatening tone.

"The time has come to end this, my son."

Orsman hurled the orb of Nur toward Ricardo.

When the hurled Nur struck Ricardo's shield, Ricardo was tearing himself apart to maintain his position and deflect the attack.

"Ahhhhhhh! So hot... it feels like it will vaporize every fluid-containing part of my body! Ahhhhhhh!"

After what felt like a lifetime, an hour later, Ricardo had deflected the attack but was also weakened.

Orsman seized the opportunity and lunged forward.

He encased his hand in armor made of Nur.

With all his might, he struck toward Ricardo's heart.

"AHHHHHHHHHH!"

Ricardo screamed in agony as he was slammed into the ground at full speed.

He struggled to get up, just about to rise, when Orsman descended rapidly from the sky.

He stomped his foot hard onto his son's stomach.

"Khh... if I hadn't armored my body with Nur, this attack would have shattered my bones and turned my internal organs into Swiss cheese."

Ricardo gathered Nur in his hand and spewed it toward his father.

The Nur hurled Orsman meters into the air while Ricardo performed an earth spell, causing a massive pillar to rise from the ground.

The pillar lifted Orsman even higher than where he had been thrown.

"What are you planning, Ricardo?"

Orsman tried to stand, but due to the pressure and wind, he couldn't straighten up.

When Orsman noticed the pillar's base being covered by a shadow, he turned his head toward the sky.

"I can't believe it..."

A sphere of Nur the size of an actual moon was descending to crush Orsman.

"No! I have to escape! Damn it, the air pressure is too strong; I can't move!"

Orsman tried to destroy the pillar to escape.

He encased his hand in thick armor made of Nur.

With all his strength, he punched the pillar, but apart from a few scratches, nothing happened.

"You've got to be kidding me... did you fill the entire pillar with Nur, Ricardo?"

Orsman had missed his only chance to escape.

Within seconds, he was flattened and crushed by the massive Nur sphere the size of a moon.

The pillar couldn't bear this weight and collapsed.

Orsman was mortally wounded.

All his bones were broken, his internal organs were shattered, his teeth were knocked out, his eyes were bulging from their sockets, his nails were torn off, and his body was unrecognizable from the wounds, blood, and bones piercing through his skin.

But he was still alive.

Orsman recklessly expended all the Nur he had left to save himself.

He healed so quickly that even the most powerful Ashterah Healers couldn't compare to Orsman's healing speed.

Orsman stood up, gasping for breath.

"Haa... haa... you almost succeeded in killing me, my son."

Ricardo advanced with slow steps.

"Yes, I wish you had died so this could end here, father."

Orsman adopted a mocking attitude.

"Haha, you can't get rid of me that easily."

Ricardo questioned his father with a confident expression.

"So what will you do now, father? Your Aura, Mana, and Nur are completely depleted. I still have a tiny bit of power left."

Instead of crumbling in the face of this truth, Orsman did what he always did and stood tall and firm.

"That's right, I've exhausted all my power. But is that tiny bit of power you have enough to kill me, my son?"

Ricardo began preparing to attack.

"That's true, it's not enough. But don't forget, I won, father. Even this tiny bit of power gives me a great advantage to defeat you. You've lost."

Orsman prepared to defend against Ricardo's incoming attack.

"We'll see about that. Come at me, my son."

As Ricardo lunged forward with his last shred of power, Orsman also prepared to defend with his final remnants of strength.

The war of Aura, Spells, and Nur had ended. Now, their final hand-to-hand battle had begun.
