Chapter 11 - 011

The next day

Rengou reached out to Shizen, calling him on the phone. After a few rings, Shizen picked up the call.

Rengou stated, "Shizen, do you have some free time by any chance? I need to meet up with you alone." Shizen paused for a moment, considering Rengou's request. After a short while, he replied, "Yeah, I can meet up with you, but I'm curious, why do you need to see me alone?" Rengou let out a small sigh, realizing that Shizen was curious about his intentions. He had hoped that they could discuss something in private, but apparently, he would have to explain himself more clearly.

Rengou pondered for a moment, wondering how best to explain his reasons for wanting to meet alone.

The thought crossed Rengou's mind that perhaps Shizen somehow knew about the plan to ambush him. Perhaps Shizen had caught wind of his plans and was asking questions to probe for more information. Rengou's expression hardened slightly, as he reconsidered how to respond. He knew that he couldn't reveal too much, lest he tip off Shizen to his true intentions. Rengou carefully chose his words, trying to maintain a casual tone. "I just need to talk to you about something important," he said. "It's better to discuss it in private, that's all."

Later on Shizen spotted Kinya in the distance and decided to approach her. He thought to himself that having Kinya with him might not be a hindrance. So, he walked over to her and spoke up. "Hey, Kinya, do you mind accompanying me somewhere?" Kinya looked at Shizen, her expression curious as she inquired, "What's the occasion? Where are we going?" "Oh, and bring your phone," Shizen reminded Kinya. Kinya was a bit taken aback by the request, but she didn't ask any further questions. "If you say so," she replied, her voice tinged with curiosity. Shizen provided the details to Kinya, giving her the location and specific time to meet up. "Let's meet up at this place at this time," he told her, making sure to give clear instructions.

Kinya and Shizen arrived at the designated place, only to find that they had arrived early. They stood there, waiting for Rengou's arrival, their minds buzzing with curiosity and anticipation. Shizen turned to Kinya and spoke in a hushed tone, "Start recording, just in case something happens. We need evidence if anything goes wrong." Kinya nodded and, instead of simply recording a video, she quickly went live. This way, people could witness the events unfolding in real-time.

Shizen glanced at Kinya, intrigued by her decision to go live. His thoughts were interrupted, however, when he wondered what could possibly be Rengou's true plan. He remained focused and alert, waiting for Rengou's arrival. As Rengou arrived, the live viewers immediately began asking questions, wondering why he was there. Kinya, who was participating in the live, admitted to not even knowing the reason for Rengou's appearance. Kinya, following up on Shizen's earlier statement, inquired, "You said it was important, but I still don't understand why you wanted to meet. Are you planning on making the fight happen now?"

Shizen, ignoring Kinya's question, turned directly to Rengou and asked him, "What is it that you want from me now?" Rengou responded to Shizen's question, his tone casual as he said, "Oh, it's nothing now that you brought your friend here." Shizen responded with a tinge of annoyance, "What do you mean 'so'? Weren't you the one who made it sound like it was so important? I even brought my friend here because of you. So, what exactly do you want?" Rengou told Shizen to wait, then loudly called out, "You can show yourself now." As if on cue, Park Lee emerged from the shadows, revealing his presence. Kinya's eyes widened in surprise as she laid eyes on Park Lee in person.

Back at the live stream, the audience couldn't believe what they were witnessing. They knew all too well what was about to occur.

Park Lee locked eyes with Shizen and declared, "We're here to figrht." Shizen looked at Park Lee and inquired, "What martial arts do you practice?"

Park Lee chuckled aloud, and Shizen pondered why he was laughing. Then Park Lee responded, stating, "I practice Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu."

Shizen couldn't help but smirk, his mind already thinking ahead. He considered how he could easily defeat Park Lee with his Teakwondo skills. All the while, Rengou was unaware of this advantage that Shizen held. Rengou was aware that Shizen trained in MMA but was not privy to the fact that he excelled in Teakwondo. The audience watching the live stream began commenting, stating that Shizen's MMA skills might not be enough to overcome Park Lee's BJJ. However, Shizen was already aware of this and had a plan to employ Teakwando instead.

Park Lee didn't waste any time and immediately launched an attack at Shizen. Park Lee charged at Shizen, aiming to catch him off guard with a quick and unexpected strike. As Park Lee lunged forward to attack, Shizen reacted with lightning-quick reflexes. He swiftly dodged to the side, evading the incoming attack. Park Lee's missed strike left him momentarily open, and Shizen seized the opportunity. With a practiced swiftness, he countered with a powerful kick aimed at Park Lee's exposed side. Rengou watched in surprise as Shizen demonstrated his skills in Teakwando. He hadn't expected Shizen to be proficient in this martial art. Rengou's surprise deepened as he observed Shizen seamlessly blending elements of Teakwando into his fighting style. It became clear to him that there was more to Shizen's skills than he had initially assumed. Shizen, maintaining his composure despite the exchange, stated, his tone slightly mocking, "So, this was your plan all along, Rengou." He smirked, clearly having figured out Rengou's intentions. Park Lee, undeterred, continued his relentless onslaught, raining blows at Shizen. He aimed to exploit any openings and wear down Shizen's defenses through sheer persistence. Despite Park Lee's relentless assault, Shizen proved to be a formidable adversary. He deftly sidestepped and blocked many of the incoming blows, displaying exceptional skills in defense. Shizen, seeing an opening, swiftly countered with his signature move from Teakwando. He executed a high-speed, acrobatic kick that left Park Lee struggling to react. Rengou's shout echoed through the area, imploring Park Lee to release his full power. "I don't care anymore," he exclaimed. "Show your true power!" His tone conveyed a mixture of frustration and desperation. Park Lee's demeanor shifted dramatically, his anger surging forward. He unleashed a barrage of powerful punches, sending them flying at Shizen from all directions. The force behind each attack was palpable, reflecting his unrestrained fury.

The heat of their confrontation continued as Shizen and Park Lee clashed relentlessly. But amidst the chaos, Shizen couldn't help but reflect on Rengou's motives.

"Rengou," he called out again, between blows, "what are we even fighting for?" Shizen gritted his teeth, narrowly evading Park Lee's relentless assaults. "I'm fighting you because you're bad," he panted, sweat trickling down his brow. "And bad guys need to be punished."

Park Lee scoffed at Shizen's response, his smirk evident. "Is that right?" he sneered, his voice laced with disdain. "You think you're some sort of hero, taking out the bad guys?" Frustration rising, Shizen launched a counter-attack at Park Lee, his movements sharp and precise. "Shut up!" he growled, his voice filled with irritation.

With a determined leap, Shizen hurled himself into the air, launching a barrage of powerful kicks at Park Lee. The momentum carried him forward, his feet never touching the ground as he unleashed a relentless assault from above. Noticing Shizen's fierce assault, Rengou began to move, realizing that the tide might be turning against Park Lee. He discreetly shifted his position, prepared to intervene if necessary.

Rengou moved swiftly, quickly closing the distance between himself and Shizen. He moved with purpose, his focus intently trained on the ongoing fight.
