—[1 Day before Deadline Day]—

Markus grinned, strapped upon their newly upgraded Chimera chamber as he had named it.

Finally about to undertake a goal he had set on achieving for a while now.

Breathing in, his mind kept replaying the scene from an hour ago.

When they had finally finished synthesizing the serum, of what with the use of [Aura Analysis] had been shown of it.

Just remembering it brought a rarely seen smile to his face.

[—Item Name - Royal True Chimera Serum.

—Rank - EX

—Info - A serum created by Markus McCall, using an undiscovered gene he named The Potentia-Gene, a gene with unlimited potential with ties from forces unknown in a time unknown. Using its pure untainted raw form, he was able to create a serum that would allow him to become a True Chimera, a being able to take the forms of any he strips of their power, a being able to adapt and evolve said any of these form and further stripping them of their weakness, a being truly limitless in what they can become.

—Effects - Has a 100% chance at changing a human into a True Chimera.

—Effects - Has a 100% chance at of making the resulting Chimera an Alpha of their species and any they may assimilate, allowing full shifting and a seemingly royal status, something unheard in this universe.

—Effects - As a True Chimera, allows the injected an infinite array of slots, of which to assimilate foreign genetics into.

—Catalysts—

1 ~ In order for the serum to work, the recipient needs to be human.

²In order for the serum to perfectly Intergrate with a human, they need a source of mystical energy running through their body in tandem with the serum.

—[-]—

His Magnum Opus.

Though after reading it's description he had paused for a moment.

The serum, his beautiful creation promised that it would make his a 'True Chimera'.

A title that he connected to one of the rewards granted by his system from one of his first ever missions.

[—Mission: Supernatural in a bottle?

— Description: You've suddenly had the 'genius' idea of using supernatural DNA to create something that can turn you into a hybrid, a chimera of two species.

Create a stable hybridization serum and inject yourself to become a hybrid.

—Reward: True Hybrid[Trait], ???, ???, ???.]

He wondered though as he stared at the mission again, how would that fare out?

Yes, his initial plans had been to engineer a serum that would grant him power, power created on his accord with no strings attached, one that would truly be his.

But now staring at the serum infront of him, he had gone way above that.

His initial plan was to become a hybrid, in the sense that he would be a chimera of two races.

But now, he had practically discovered more, creating a method and technique that would allow him to go above and beyond.

Two races? Please, he could create that in his sleep, literally, his clones would see to that.

He could now go above and beyond and create a tribrid, or even beyond that with the right genetics.

So as he stared at that screen he wondered how the reward of that certain trait would go, as he wouldn't be a hybrid of any species.

Actually, he wouldn't be even any amount of races. Simply a blank canvas that he could scribble on whatever he liked.

But other then that, there were also other things to acknowledge.

One of them being the boost to his stats and skill level ups, alongside the hidden mission he had completed and hadn't yet collected the rewards from—too excited to create and administer his serum to wait and look through.

First he looked through his stats, for what would be the last time before they would be irrevocable changed with his ascension to a chimera, a true Chimera.

—[1/5]—

—Name - Markus McCall.

—Titles - Vampire Hunter | False Warlock | The Taboo Scientist.

—Race - Human[Awakened]

—Bloodline - Xenox[75%]

—HP - 100%

—MP - 100%

—[Stats]—

—Strength - 25

—Dexterity - 24

—Stamina - 26

—Perception - 30[120]

—Mana - 69

—Charisma - 24

—Mind - 40[48]

—[—]—

His Mind stat had finally improved.

It wasn't the only stat that had improved though, with perception also increasing to a 30 while Mind increased to 40.

He attributed the changes with his brief but enlightening encounter with what he called the Source Code.

Having comprehended a portion of it, so to him, perception increasing probably had something to do with him perceiving something that was normally impossible to perceive.

His assumed Mind increased due to some enlightenment or achievement he obtained through the act, the completed hidden mission he had received actually confirmed that one actually.

But the greatest gain from all this, was the title.

The Taboo Scientist.

[—Title - The Taboo Scientist.

~• Taboo Scientist - Through your sheer will, creativity and innovation, you've delved deep into something forbidden to be laid eyes upon by mortals— In doing etching yourself upon the weave of this universe, rejoice for you have peeked into the domain of God's.

~• Evershifting Mind - Through your peering of the Taboo, you've been touched by it both for good or for worse— You now possess an Evershifting Mind, able to comprehend things to even the most obscure or incomprehensible of knowledge X5 times faster than any normal person should.

~• Warped Psyche - Your mind is warped, changing and with it comes the effect of making you crave the darker and more taboo of flavours in life, egging you on towards these thrills at random moments—And by another effect, this makes you immune to mental alterations, compulsions or manipulation you don't explicitly agree to.]

The trait was incredible in the effects that it granted him.

He was now immune to mental effects, a multiplier of five alongside his already busted comprehension capabilities.

With these effects he could learn anything, improve his knowledge in the most obscure of professions in weeks or a days time!

Had he had this title before his experiments he probably would have created the formula a longtime ago, though he didn't know how he would have found a stabilising effect for the Potentia-Genes decaying problem without [Decryption].

But like all things, there's always a hidden blade.

Warped Psyche.

He didn't know how to think about that, it wasn't blatant mind control but was definitely mind compulsions that would make his seek out darker persuits in life.

He didn't know what that explicitly meant, but he was sure that it wouldn't be something as quirky as stealing a lollipop from a baby's hands.

But then again, he had already found himself spiralling down a dark path already.

Fuelled by desperation for power he had made a deal with a being he did not know whether wanted to see the world burn or not, killed hunters even when he could have kept on escaping, kidnapped and experimented on a hunter and inadvertently breaking her mind with his clones magical experiments which he could atleast justify to that he atleast got results from it that he needed.

But that wasn't the end of it, even after that he had also kidnapped homeless people, people down on their luck and suffering just so he could orchestrate his return to fuel his petty revenge all from a misunderstanding that he probably could have handled better.

Heck, he was gonna experiment on the kidnapped homeless people, some he'd kill no doubt for another purpose he had in mind.

His evil actions have already bordered and crossed from simple preservation acts, now he was doing it for his gain and if he was honest to himself, he didn't regret anything.

The only thing that he regretted really was that he could have done everything a lot more better, planned better, used his skills better and even leaned on his system to farm missions in order to farm more out of context abilities.

But that last thought had him grimacing at himself.

He didn't want to overly rely on the system too much, he didn't want to become to dependant on a tool that he knew not of its intentions, but he wasn't as stupid enough to ignore the benefits granted to it.

But with this experiment, he had found that it wasn't so bad to rely on himself more.

Having gone above and beyond what the system had probably estimated his experiments would go—heck he was even looking forward to what will happen when he claimed the systems rewards after becoming a True Chimera, not a two but mash of two ingredients like the Hybrid Chimera.

So filing those thoughts for later, he closed his title and willed for his Skills next, finding some new additions to his worryingly growing catalogue.
