"what did I just witness?" Ellie asked, she couldn't believe what what she just saw as she stared at Jake both surprised and scared
"Those infected just now, they helped him out"Ellie said but as soon as she said this Jim pushed the thoughts away
"I'm sure you're overthinking this Ellie, I saw nothing of such"Jim replied

MINUTES EARLIER

"Finally *smirks* some action" Jake said rushing towards a herd of infected, he could now differentiate between powerful foes and non powerful foes based on their "STRATUM". Delivery the first blow he sent an undead flying and clearing a part for himself to fight in and in minutes the entire area was infected free
"That was fun" he thought "didn't even have to use the dagger" he continued about walking for the bus when Ellie approached him
"You what are you?" Ellie asked her voice shaky and her eyes filled with fear, she had just watched Jake take out a lot of infected, not just that he had help from other infected
"What the hell are talking about?" Jake asked not sure what Ellie was saying
"She thinks she saw you get defended by an infected"Jim joked
"Believe what you want to Ellie, I don't got the time for this" jake huffed following the road, "she saw that?,,,,I guess I gotta be a lil extra careful before using undead tamer again" Jake thought putting his hands in his pocket and walking towards the station which was supposed to be a kilometers away, this he knew as he usually explored up to this point in town whenever he gets bored.
Within minutes Jake and his crew were already at the police station quickly heading for the amoury, they found it completely empty, more or less by police men or looters looking for something to protect themselves with,nonetheless they made sure to take almost all the weapons in the amoury only thing left behind was a handgun with its ammo missing
"great, a handgun but no bullets to use it with" Jim complained slamming his hands on the armourys wall but Jake knowing very well the handgun might come in handy later picked it up and headed out searching the remaining unsearched parts of the station but nothing else was found after that.
"C'mon let's bounce, staying here too long might attract them" Jake said leading the way out of the station
"Kinda disappointed though" Jim said
" don' be, best guess, we'll find some weapons sooner or later as of now the sun's pretty high up so I think we should keep moving right" Ellie said she seemed to be suggesting this and also waiting for Jake's approval
"Sure thateems to be the plan doesn't it" Jake smiled "she's finally getting to understand the situation were in then" Jake thought smiling.
But as they continued there trek down the empty road leading to the city, they found a lady calling for help, running towards them she fell. She looked like someone who needed urgent help and who wanted to be rescued
"Please help me, my son he's stuck, I need help please"she begged
"Where is he, lead us to him"Ellie being Ellie wanted to help out and Jim did the same but for some reason Jake didn't find her story convincing, no mom would want leave her child alone at that situation best they could do was yell for help until someone answers
"I'm not going" Jake refused
"What.... A child's life is at stake here" Jim protested but Jake had already refused and with that no one could chance his mind
"Jake please this is no time to be joking around ,if we stay here a little long that child may die" Ellie said
"Then let it happen, I don't care, don't you find it strange that we have yet to encounter any infected in this area" Jake asked
"And yh, her story doesn't add up, her son being stuck...where exactly? In a car and a building" Jake asked
"A....a car" the woman replied
"Hesitation, that's prove of a lie ain't it" Jake smiled walking past the lady on the floor
"Sorry but I ain't in for that" Jake continued walking when he had Jim scream
"Stop!!!"
Turning around Jake found the lady holding Ellie captive with a dagger pointed at her neck
"You insolent fool, you saw through my deception but I guess you don't got much of a choice but to follow me or else she dies" the lady threatened but Jake at this point wasn't even moved by this
"You wanna kill her, then do it, I don't care" he said turning around and gently walking away
"This guy... What the hell is he"the lady thought her grip on the dagger slowly getting loose
"You know.....you shouldn't always drop your guard, at the very least not against me" a familiar voice said from behind, turning around in both fear, surprise and shock she found Jake behind her, his dagger already pointed on her neck like she did on Ellie
"now I dare you, do it" Jake threatened his eyes filled with blood lust.
