Chapter 237 - Chapter 237: Fish-Man District

"Found it."

The existence of the Fish-Man District was like a stain on a white cloth. Bellamy found it easily without much effort. After disembarking, he glanced at the fish-men trembling at the port and couldn't help but shake his head.

Deep beneath the sea, fish-men should have been the absolute rulers. Yet, these individuals seemed to have completely forgotten their racial advantage. The mere name of the Celestial Dragons was enough to make them so terrified they didn't know what to do with their hands. The decline of the fish-man race in recent years was plain to see.

Bellamy believed a significant reason for this was Queen Otohime. That woman blindly promoted racial peace, completely ignoring the fact that fish-men and merfolk were being persecuted. She possessed the power to change the world, yet she chose to tie her own hands. In Bellamy's eyes, she was a woman of irredeemable foolishness.

Otohime's Observation Haki was incredibly powerful. She could perceive the thoughts and emotions of others and convey her own will to them, creating a strong resonance that could influence their minds and thoughts, even changing their values and ideologies. This level of Observation Haki, comparable to the highest tier, couldn't be obtained through training; like Conqueror's Haki, it was an innate power. In some respects, this ability was far rarer than Conqueror's Haki. Among all known intelligent beings, only Otohime had ever possessed Observation Haki of this caliber.

What a terrifying power. If used wisely, overturning the world would be a simple matter. Yet, this foolish woman used it to promote racial peace. And so, a ridiculous scene unfolded: the fish-men and merfolk were continuously persecuted by other races while simultaneously brainwashing themselves with the idea of "racial peace." Queen Otohime had truly played an undeniable role in the decline of her people.

The current king of Fish-Man Island, Neptune, was an imbecile who had been brainwashed by Otohime for decades. Human slave-catching crews loitered just outside Fish-Man Island every day, and he simply pretended not to see them. Originally, there was no such place as the Fish-Man District on the island. But over the decades, as more and more people were captured by slavers, a large number of orphans appeared. Neptune had to establish a large orphanage, the predecessor to the Fish-Man District. However, due to the incompetence of its management, the orphanage gradually became a gathering place for lawless groups, evolving into what it was today.

Arlong's crew, Hody Jones, Vander Decken IX—all of them came from the Fish-Man District. Why did they hate humans so much? Because the seeds of their hatred for humanity had been sown decades ago. What goes around, comes around.

After locating the Fish-Man District, Bellamy leaped into the air, darting through the water until he arrived at the dilapidated street in the blink of an eye.

A human appearing in a place like this was like a bomb dropping into water. The residents here were all orphans who harbored a deep-seated hatred for humans. The entire street instantly erupted.

"Look, it's a human!"

"My god, a human dares to show his face here!"

"Kill him! Kill him!" one fish-man couldn't hold back, screaming as he charged forward.

"Don't kill him! Capture him and torture him to death!"

The hatred the residents of the Fish-Man District held for humans was irreconcilable. Neptune was well aware of this; this place had always been a major hidden danger on Fish-Man Island. The district was like a stick of dynamite with its fuse lit; the slightest spark would cause it to explode.

Bellamy's appearance was that spark. Before long, the news that a human had appeared spread throughout the entire Fish-Man District. The fish-men who harbored the most extreme hatred for humans began to emerge from their homes. Hearing the commotion, Vander Decken IX and Hody Jones also couldn't resist leaving their lairs to see which human was bold enough to come to the Fish-Man District.

And with that, Bellamy's objective was achieved. The swarming fish-men were nothing more than ants he could crush at will, unworthy of his attention.

"If you hate humans so much, shouldn't you be training harder?"

Yet, he saw no strong individuals among them. Wanting revenge but being unwilling to put in the effort—such people were all too common. The vast majority of people in this world were like that. Individuals like Bellamy and Hody Jones were the rarest of the rare, perhaps one in a million.

The humidity on Fish-Man Island far exceeded any region on land; you could squeeze a handful of water from the air. This environment provided a massive boost to both the practice and execution of Fish-Man Karate. Right now, for example, several fish-men were charging at Bellamy, unleashing Fish-Man Karate techniques.

Fish-Man Karate: Gun Wave!

Fish-Man Karate: Water Shot!

Fish-Man Karate: Tile True Punch!

Almost every fish-man knew a few moves of Fish-Man Karate. The ones leading the charge were clearly the most skilled among them. Their execution of the three techniques was commendable; even Bellamy couldn't find any flaws in their form. But standard technique didn't equate to combat power. Power and skill had to be combined to unleash supreme destructive force.

Bellamy stood his ground, assumed the opening stance of Fish-Man Karate, and prepared to teach them a proper lesson. He grabbed the moisture from the air, easily molding it into a long, thin stream of water. The stream began to rotate rapidly in his palm, creating a long vortex.

Fish-Man Karate: Gun Wave.

Bellamy threw the same technique back at them. It instantly collided with the three incoming attacks. A scene that the fish-men couldn't believe unfolded before them: the Fish-Man Karate used by this human had effortlessly shattered the Fish-Man Karate used by them. Moreover, after destroying their attacks, the Gun Wave didn't disappear; it continued its rapid assault toward the fish-men charging from behind.

"A mere human! Watch me break it!"

A whale shark fish-man refused to believe that a human's power could surpass that of a fish-man. He roared and charged toward the Gun Wave.

"Pathetic."

Bellamy had infused the Gun Wave with a large amount of elasticity. As it spun at high speed, it could easily pierce through several layers of ship armor. This whale shark fish-man didn't know Armament Haki and was trying to shatter the high-speed vortex with his bare hands. He was simply asking for death.
