Two hours later, Ethan finished spraying the entire orchard. Looking back at his work, he couldn't help but marvel.
"Damn. Every single tree is practically glowing."
The branches and leaves were vibrant and green, brimming with vitality, and emitted bursts of fresh, fragrant air. Seeing he still had some diluted Spiritual Water left in the tank, he decided to spray the wild brush and miscellaneous woods nearby as well.
"Wow, why is the air suddenly so fresh?" Sitting in the village committee office, Suzie took a deep breath, savoring the scent drifting through the open window.
"Haha, Secretary Suzie, didn't you know? Uncle Ethan is spraying some kind of medicine in the fruit orchard," a villager who had just arrived for work explained.
"No wonder the apples he brought out before were so delicious. If his potion works this well, I highly suggest we raise the prices of our fruit once it's ready!" Natalie said ruthlessly, fanning the fragrant air toward her delicate nose.
"Agreed! A price increase!" Suzie slammed her hand on the desk, her eyes gleaming with excitement.
Seeing the predatory, money-hungry glint in the eyes of the two beautiful leaders, the villager shrank back in fear. My god, are these two still beauties? They look like two hungry she-wolves!
"Big cat, go!"
As Ethan returned to the village carrying his sprayer, he saw Missy riding the tiger, playing alongside a group of village kids who were riding the wild boars.
What caught Ethan's eye, however, was a new addition to the group: a Husky that was currently running in hyperactive circles, acting completely deranged.
Where did this idiot come from? Ethan was stunned.
The villagers only raised local guard dogs to protect their homes. No one in Mistwood Village would ever raise a Husky—a breed famous only for tearing apart furniture and howling at the walls. Furthermore, even though the tiger was tame, dogs were naturally terrified of it. Wherever the tiger went, every local dog in the village scattered.
This Husky, however, clearly had a few screws loose. Not only was it play-fighting with the two wild boars, but it was also enthusiastically rubbing against the tiger like they were long-lost brothers.
"Daddy, Daddy! Hug!" Missy spotted Ethan and had the tiger trot over immediately.
"Woof! Woof!" The Husky bounded over alongside them. It jumped up, barked at Ethan, spun around in a rapid circle, and then happily jumped at him again, acting as if they had known each other for years.
"Sweetie, where did this derp come from?" Ethan asked, lifting Missy into his arms.
"I don't know, Daddy!"
"Well, be careful not to let it bite you," Ethan reminded her. He discreetly pulled a large bag of candy from his Ring Space and handed it to her.
Missy immediately squirmed down, waving her hands at her friends and shouting that her daddy had brought candy. The kids swarmed over, each grabbing a handful. Seeing the little girl so generous, Ethan smiled happily. After reminding them to be careful, he headed home.
That evening, just as dinner was ready, Missy returned on the tiger, flanked by the two wild boars. To Ethan's speechlessness, the Husky had followed them home too.
"Woof, woof!"
The idiot dog first jumped at Ethan. Seeing that Ethan ignored it, it immediately trotted over to Blackie, wagging its tail to curry favor. Blackie didn't even look at it. The Husky, mistaking Blackie's indifference for weakness, decided to provoke the giant dog.
Smack! Blackie casually swiped his massive paw, sending the Husky tumbling several meters away. The derp yelped, scrambled back up, and rolled its pale blue eyes, looking slightly fearful. But two seconds later, it was bouncing around again.
Seeing Blackie raise his paw for another strike, the Husky instantly flopped onto the ground, belly up, all four paws bicycling in the air as if having a seizure. Ethan burst out laughing. Blackie, entirely speechless at the Husky's shameless behavior, simply closed his eyes and ignored the fool.
Realizing Blackie wasn't going to hit it again, the Husky bounded up happily and decided to annoy Whiskers and the wolf cub resting nearby.
Whack! Whack! Whiskers' paws lashed out like lightning, slapping the Husky twice across the snout. Yelping in pain, the idiot dog tucked its tail and ran over to the tiger, pretending to be a pitiful victim. To Ethan's utter disbelief, the apex predator actually stuck out its massive tongue and began grooming the Husky, showering it with infinite affection.
"What's going on here? Ethan, we've only been gone an afternoon. How did we get a luxury car and a new dog?" the two beauties asked suspiciously as they rode into the yard on their warhorses.
"The car is a gift from a friend. As for the dog? You'll have to ask our little princess," Ethan smiled.
"Mommy, Auntie Suzie, I don't know where it came from either! We were just playing, and it ran out on its own!" Missy mumbled around a large chicken leg.
"It probably belongs to one of the construction workers," Suzie said, washing her hands. "If it doesn't leave by tonight, I'll put up a notice at the village committee tomorrow and make an announcement on the loudspeaker. Huskies are notoriously bad at finding their way home."
Ethan brought out a few large bowls to feed the animals. Since the Husky was a guest, he didn't mistreat it, tossing half a roasted chicken into its bowl before heading inside to eat with Natalie and Suzie.
But this Husky was truly shameless. Despite having half a chicken in its own bowl, it refused to eat its own food, preferring to steal from the others.
It first scurried over to the tiger, sneaking a few bites from its bowl. Then it trotted over to the two wild boars. Seeing that the boars were pushovers, it shoved its head into their bowls and stole a few more mouthfuls. Emboldened, it ran over to Blackie. Seeing the giant dog ignoring it, the Husky bravely leaned in to steal a bite.
Smack! Blackie slapped it again, sending it flying three or four meters away. Squealing, the Husky finally learned its lesson and obediently returned to its own bowl to eat.
But its good behavior didn't even last a minute. The idiot dog circled back to the tiger's bowl for another snack. When it reached Blackie, it wisely decided not to offend the giant dog again. Instead, it hopped over Blackie and made its way toward Whiskers.
"Whiskers, smack it!" Suzie yelled from inside the house.
Obeying her command, Whiskers' paws lashed out left and right, delivering a rapid-fire combo to the Husky's face. The dog staggered, and like an old scammer faking an injury, it threw itself onto the ground, howling and kicking its legs dramatically in the air.
Just then, the wolf cub, having finished its meal, waddled over to the wailing Husky. It sniffed the Husky's head, lifted its tiny leg, and peed right on it.
"Hahaha!" The group inside the house burst into uncontrollable laughter.
"Woof! Woof!" The Husky instantly leaped to its feet, shaking its head indignantly and barking at the tiny cub.
The next day, Natalie went to the village committee office and used the loudspeaker to broadcast a lost-and-found message for a Husky. No one came to claim it. By the afternoon, she was tired of announcing it and had Suzie take over. Still, no one showed up.
The two women finally gave up. And just like that, the derp successfully mooched its way into Ethan's household.
Another day passed, and the fruit saplings Ethan ordered finally arrived. The delivery included dragon fruit, apricot, plum, and dozens of tea tree saplings.
Just as Ethan was preparing to plant these saplings on his newly leased land, a burst of jubilation erupted throughout Mistwood Village. It turned out the power company had finally arrived to connect the electricity!
