"Who knew that even after everything's set up I'd still have to sign this and that. If I had known, I would've stayed in my room doing the homework Bronya gave me — at least I could slack off by begging her."
Seele muttered, slightly tilting her head.
Seeing her like this, Natasha could only shake her head in resignation.
It was clear Bronya intended to cultivate Seele into someone capable of standing on her own — not only in combat, but also in dealing with the responsibilities expected of someone in a leadership role.
--------------------------------
As for why she concealed the later parts of the job… just like Seele said, if she had begged, Bronya probably wouldn't have had the heart to make her go through it.
But by assigning her a responsibility from the start, with Seele's personality, no matter how hard it was, she would push through.
In short: stubborn to the core.
Seele, oh Seele, you've been completely played by Bronya.
Watching Seele still muttering about something, Natasha thought to herself.
"By the way, Natasha," Seele suddenly looked up and asked Natasha with some hesitation,"Do you know when Big Guy's coming back? It's been days now."
'Miss him the first day Godzilla's gone, miss him the second day too...'
Nowadays, Jarilo practically revolves around Godzilla.
Godzilla is without a doubt the faith of Jarilo.
Even the revival of the first Supreme Guardian couldn't shake Godzilla's place in everyone's hearts.
"I asked Cocolia, she said it's soon."
"She always says that — I remember last time too." Rolling her eyes, Seele gave a small snort and put down her pen.
Throughout the universe, there's no shortage of cases where entire planets have been destroyed.
Natural disasters or human error — one or the other is unavoidable.
The planet known as Fetora was one such case.
The flame demons who lived there had some renown in the universe — but all of it was infamy.
"Herta Space Station, the orbital station revolving around a habitable planet, the domain of the genius club member known as Herta. In the past, my schemes were foiled there. I once vowed to go there myself and bring them destruction. The time has come."
So spoke the Duke Inferno, Ifrit.
In fact, according to their original trajectory, heading to Herta Space Station would've been a matter for later.
But recently, for unknown reasons, the Universal Swarm Disaster had all gone nuts, throwing major travel routes into chaos and danger.
Duke Inferno revels in destruction and worships it.
But destroying these bugs brought nothing to his faith and would only disrupt his plans, so he detoured — until recently, he discovered he was now quite close to Herta Space Station...
...
Herta Space Station.
As for yet another group of lunatics planning to attack the space station, Herta didn't know — and even if she did, she wouldn't care.
The Annihilation Gang? Only worth taking seriously if they could actually succeed.
"Tch, you really spared no effort, putting all this great stuff on."
As the only one who got backstabbed, Herta was currently inspecting Screwllum's mechanical Godzilla, tapping around here and there.
Ruan Mei's creation had already been reduced to dust in a previous battle, vanished into the air.
Screwllum's mechanical Godzilla was the last one standing.
"It only won for now due to mechanical stability."
Screwllum said calmly.
"Heh, do you think I believe that? Give me those parts and maybe I will."
Herta rolled her eyes.
Even Peppy wouldn't believe this if it were said out loud.
After her interrogation, it was initially confirmed that all the parts composing Mechagodzilla were rare items from across the universe. With so many good materials piled together, it could build a luxurious bed just from the leftovers.
"Herta, I think we need more data," Ruan Mei said softly.
"I think so too, but what can I do if that guy won't give it to me? If I act rashly, he drains my doll's power without mercy."
Herta waved her hand.
Godzilla was practically a nemesis to her dolls.
The dolls she personally developed, with their massive energy reserves, could barely last a few seconds against Godzilla's absorption ability — it was nothing short of a disgrace!
But this also proved Godzilla's incredible energy absorption capabilities. Unless it was absolutely necessary, Herta didn't want all her dolls to be scrapped.
"All right, out of the way, you two."
With her hands on her hips, Herta sternly condemned the two sneaky interlopers, turned to leave, and as she approached the door, she looked back and said,
"Upload the collected data into the simulated universe. We'll see if there are any changes there."
With that, Herta disappeared from their sight.
Screwllum looked in the direction Herta left and started thinking.
Normally, in situations like this, Herta would just sever the consciousness link. Why did she directly control the doll and walk away today?
...
After confirming that neither Screwllum nor Ruan Mei had followed her, and that no one else was around, Herta finally took out her phone and opened the image Stelle had just sent.
It was a hexagonal bronze vessel standing atop a thick, long tail. The texture on the surface was indistinct.
And that tail — Herta didn't even need to think to guess.
But none of that was what drew her attention the most.
[ Stelle: Guess what's inside this? ]
[ Stelle: Can't guess, right? Hehe, beg me. ]
[ Herta: I beg you. Sad JPG ]
[ Stelle: Ahem, since you're being so sincere, I'll enlighten you. What's inside is a top-tier dangerous individual in the universe, the culprit who infiltrated Xianzhou Luofu and caused trouble — the Lord Ravager, Phantylia! ]
Herta's eyes sparkled.
Lord Ravager, Phantylia.
She knew this one well.
Just a few months ago, she encountered this master of mental manipulation on Jarilo.
And now, she was standing on her own space station while Phantylia was imprisoned in a fancy little room.
According to Stelle's account, Phantylia had been captured by Godzilla together with Luofu's general Jing Yuan, Welt, and others.
Godzilla had played a decisive role, directly subduing Phantylia.
"Looks like I underestimated him. He even managed to capture a Lord Ravager alive." Herta subconsciously licked her lips.
Her burning gaze fixated on the hexagonal bronze containing Phantylia.
She had never studied a Lord Ravager before.
She'd heard Phantylia's true form was quite special — now she wanted to see just how special.
But...
"Why did he go to Luofu?" Herta muttered, remembering when Godzilla once traveled through space to fight the massive Giant Sting.
But that was outside Jarilo VI. If you really measured the distance…
For someone like Godzilla to find Luofu without coordinates and relying only on sensing, it was nothing short of a miracle!
"No way, I have to keep this from those two."
Putting away her phone, Herta casually walked out.
...
Shortly after.
"moniu, moniu,"
The adorable Cat Cake rubbed against Ruan Mei's leg, relaying everything it had heard without missing a word.
"Mm-hmm, good, you're such a good girl, darling."
She bent down to pet Cat Cake, and watching the excited feline bounce around, Ruan Mei turned to look at Screwllum.
"So? Xianzhou Luofu?"
"Logic: Too many people will attract attention. Conclusion: Proceed slowly."
Ruan Mei wasn't surprised by Screwllum's response.
But she didn't share the same opinion.
"Miracles of life can be very brief — I have to seize every opportunity," Ruan Mei said softly, gracefully walking toward the door.
Screwllum only shook his head slightly at the sight and made no move to stop her.
They were both members of the Genius Society, equally brilliant.
But...
"Capturing the Lord Ravager alive." Screwllum mused.
Each Aeon's Emanator was a formidable being walking the path of destiny, second only to the Aeons.
Only an Aeon's Emanator could rival another.
But Godzilla...
According to Herta, with no external interference, no imaginary energy influence, and no path power, just on his own — he could go toe-to-toe with a Lord Ravager and capture them alive.
That level of strength was terrifying!
You could say no one in the entire universe would dare claim they could capture a Lord Ravager alive — not even another Envoy.
Screwllum was very curious: what exactly made Luofu accept such a powerful being aboard their starship so nonchalantly?
He could understand humanoid powerhouses, but a colossal being like that...?
Was it General Jing Yuan's stubbornness?
Shaking his head, Screwllum stopped dwelling on that point.
He still had to explain the Mechagodzilla issue to Asta...
