Chapter 28 - Chapter 28: So Fragile!

"Huh? What's going on?" March 7th was holding Serval's specially-made equipment, ready to start the next round of cleaning, when the sudden movement interrupted her.

Serval, who had just come out of the cabin with new equipment, froze for a moment upon seeing this, then quickly jumped up and waved.

"Hey! Hurry up and get down!"

"What! What did you say!"

Rumble!

Watching Godzilla already rising, Serval stood in place, slowly shaking her head.

"Nothing. Just hold on tight."

-----------------------------

The massive size of the Engine of Creation makes it impossible to move at will.

Even so, the engine rising in place at this moment could still be seen by the residents of Belobog.

Looking at this colossal figure symbolizing the city builders, it was once the hope of Jarilo.

The cold wave had passed, but the standing steel giant seemed to declare to the people that Jarilo could still move forward and that the city builders were restoring the former glory of Jarilo.

"So big, even bigger than Mr. Svarog." Clara looked up in awe, raising her small hands above her head to compare herself to Svarog, then compared Svarog to the Engine of Creation, her little mouth hanging open the whole time.

"Engine of Creation fully functional, control system normal, energy transport system normal. Aside from minor wear on some parts, everything is fine."

Pela conducted the inspection meticulously. Though time had worn down some components, this degree of wear was within normal limits. In fact, if there had been absolutely no issues after all this time, that would've been a real miracle—something even the Amber King would stop to admire.

"Hm? Madam Cocolia?" Pela looked up in confusion when she received no response, only to see Cocolia frozen in her previous posture, like an ice sculpture.

At the same time, not far from the city, Seele and her group looked at the towering Engine of Creation and couldn't help but smile.

"Not bad at all. We can't fall behind either."

She wasn't about to go back and get caught by Bronya to write some essay about the Engine of Creation.

As a kid from the Underworld, just recognizing her own name was good enough—homework and such could fly away for all she cared.

"Mr. Welt?" Dan Heng whispered. Hearing his voice, Welt snapped out of it.

"Ah, ah! Mm, let's go."

With a light cough, Welt spoke as if nothing had happened.

Dan Heng glanced at Welt's phone screen, which was still in camera mode. As for how many pictures had been taken, Dan Heng wasn't sure—he hadn't even had time to react in that moment.

"Boom!"

Another thunderous sound erupted.

This time, it was even more dramatic than the awakening of the Engine of Creation.

Everyone was startled and turned to look.

A terrifying presence, embodying oppression itself, slowly rose from the horizon, shaking them to the core.

"What's up with Godzilla?" Seele asked in confusion.

She wasn't panicked—Godzilla acting up was pretty normal. Either there was an enemy, something caught its interest, or most likely, it was just moving because it got tired of this place.

Welt adjusted his glasses, the sunlight reflected through the lens after being blocked by Godzilla forming a cross-shaped gleam.

"In the stories of my homeland, whenever a massive enemy appears, Godzilla will proactively engage it. I fear the activation of the Engine of Creation has drawn Godzilla's attention."

"In that case, it's no surprise—it reacted as if its territory was being threatened."

"Hey, you two."

As the two continued their exchange, Seele interrupted. In the face of the situation, the two turned to her, puzzled.

"Don't you think you should be comparing their sizes?"

Only then did they snap out of it and looked at both Godzilla and the Engine of Creation together.

Judging by eye, the Engine of Creation was about... as tall as Godzilla's thigh?

That figure made them both fall silent.

Especially Welt, who knew Godzilla well.

When they first met, he only remembered that this Godzilla was huge—very huge, bigger than any Godzilla he'd seen on screen.

But just how huge, he hadn't realized. Godzilla had been lying on the ground then, even playfully interacting with Stelle, which made him unconsciously underestimate its size.

Now, looking at it again, this Godzilla's proportions just didn't seem right!

But he had to admit…

"Very cool."

Welt nodded solemnly.

"Mr. Welt, I admit he's impressive, but have you noticed those two over there?"

"Hm?"

Prompted by Dan Heng, Welt looked in the direction he pointed.

There, two rowdy kids were jumping and playing—on Godzilla's shoulder.

...

"Ha ha, so high, so high!"

March 7th cheered joyfully, holding the camera and snapping away—this kind of angle was rare!

In contrast to March 7th's excitement, Stelle was more reserved, standing with the bat between her legs, looking straight ahead, facing the wind.

From this angle, if one looked closely, they could even see different hues on Godzilla's body.

Inside, Stelle… was thrilled beyond words!

Himeko shook her head helplessly at Stelle's pose.

You can't expect too much from a child who was just born.

"Right, right, Stelle, quickly send this to Herta—and don't reply to her."

March 7th suddenly remembered and quickly shook Stelle.

She still remembered that Herta called her a short pink-haired midget!

This grudge must be avenged!

Hearing March 7th's reminder, Stelle finally realized what she had forgotten.

She hadn't thought of it when they first arrived—she definitely needed to message Asta and Herta, especially Herta. Just thinking about Herta holding her phone and constantly messaging her with sweet words to please her… that feeling…

Asta, who was bored at the space station wondering if the Astral Express had arrived yet, and Herta, who was still studying the Simulated Universe, suddenly felt their phones vibrating.

Upon opening them,

"Eh?"

"Hmm?"…

"Roar." Godzilla's roar echoed through the sky, but everyone could tell—there was no anger or destruction in it, just curiosity.

"Why has Lord Godzilla come here?" Bronya was puzzled at first, then noticed that Godzilla was heading toward the Engine of Creation and grew a little nervous.

Could it be that the Engine of Creation disturbed Lord Godzilla?

"Don't panic, that's probably not it." Cocolia reassured her. She didn't sense displeasure in Godzilla's eyes, but rather curiosity.

And indeed, that was the case.

Approaching the Engine of Creation and towering over the little pudding-like structure, Godzilla curiously poked the Engine of Creation's head with the tip of his tail.

The Engine of Creation wobbled slightly from the touch. Godzilla pressed a little harder, then pulled back his tail and saw the spot he poked had sunken a bit.

'So fragile.'

That was Godzilla's first impression.

This thing is basically just a giant figurine.

The Engine of Creation was originally a machine used by Jarilo to clear land. It wasn't equipped with piercing or high-damage energy weapons.

To Godzilla, a machine that only punches was even less useful than those bugs from earlier.

Godzilla grabbed the Engine of Creation with his claws, gave a slight squeeze, and with a loud rumble, lifted it up, then slammed it back down.

"Forget it, this is fine for a first try."

Godzilla didn't hide the expression of distaste on his face.

Still, considering it was just an initial design, he let it slide.

But…

As Godzilla's follower, one mustn't get obsessed with these things.

Thinking this, the fins on Godzilla's tail began glowing blue, followed by his dorsal fins, energy gathering in his mouth. Godzilla raised his head toward the sky and unleashed a powerful atomic breath into the stars against the wind.

Moments later, he stopped and leaned forward slightly, his massive presence putting great pressure on everyone present.

"Phew." With a snort, Godzilla slowly straightened, swayed his tail, and began heading home.

The warmth in the air brought everyone back to their senses.

"Lord Godzilla, what does this mean?" Bronya blinked, not understanding his intention.

"I get it!" After a moment of thought, Pela shouted excitedly.

"Lord Godzilla means for us to equip the Engine of Creation with a beam weapon similar to his own!"

Few people knew that the quiet, meticulous Pela was actually a superfan of Godzilla.
