Before long, the final match began.
Although Felix had drunk the potion-infused water, which improved his condition, Lyla… wasn't an easy opponent. She was more skilled at table tennis than he was to begin with, and on top of that, her match in the semi-finals was much shorter and easier, and she had more time to rest before the finals… Even with the potion, Felix couldn't quite combat all that.
So, when Lyla served the first ball, they had a few exchanges, after which the woman ended up scoring the first point.
A satisfied smirk instantly blossomed on her face, and her chin lifted up a bit. It might have been just one point - for now - but to earn the first point, and fairly quickly at that, naturally boosted her confidence, while making Felix more nervous at the same time…
Or so she thought. But Felix wouldn't be discouraged so easily. Quite the opposite, losing the point only made him focus even more, giving it his all.
