Chapter 9 - Don't Fight Me, You Won't Win

Carla watched wide eyed as he moved from her lips to sucking her neck. Involuntarily, she felt herself let out a moan.

"Yeah Baby. I miss this part of you." He groaned before looking her in the eye.

"I don't… I don't want to do this, please." She pleaded and swallowed back the moan which was at the tip of her tongue the moment he had grabbed her ass from behind.

"Yes, you do." He smirked at her before going back to keeping a straight face again.

"Never you lie to me." He said and Carla squirmed at the poke she got from beneath his trouser.

"Stay till if you don't want to get a good fuck." He held her eyes and smiled when her face reddened.

"Don't lie to me, ever." He repeated and Carla found herself nodding her head at him, not knowing what else she was supposed to do.

Without warning, he let his finger tips roam her face.

"You got me scared and annoyed yesterday." He rested his face on his palm to study her.

Carla stared at him in confusion, not knowing what else to say.

"You are mine and mine alone." He declared and Carla's face got heated.

"That was …" She paused.

"That was what?" He frowned and Carla wanted to bolt from his laps, back into the comfort of her home.

"That was eight years back. I was yours only for the night." She told him and looked ahead, at the wide window, not wanting to see his narrowed eyes.

"But now I have found you again, you are mine forever." He declared and drew her close.

"No!" Carla felt the familiar anger bubbling inside her as she placed her palms on his chest to stop him from pulling her closer.

"No?" His eyes narrowed even further and Carla swallowed the sudden outburst back into her stomach.

"I want you. I have searched all over for you."

"That doesn't mean I want you." Carla glared at him and made to stand but he pulled her down, making her fall back into his chest.

"Why not?" He asked with a subtle frown of confusion that Carla would have found cute under a normal circumstance.

"Because no man would have behaved the way you did except a beast!" She yelled to his face, tears staining her eyes and when he released her out of shock, she made for the door but it was firmly locked and didn't bulge no matter how hard she tried.

He stood slowly, walked towards her and turned her to face him.

"What did you just say?" He had no emotion on his face.

"It was my first time and you weren't gentle!" She accused him, finally finding the courage to yell at him with tears blurring her vision this time.

She watched him look up to the ceiling and sigh heavily.

"I didn't know it was your first time, I assumed you were just like the others who pretended to be shy and loved the chase." He confessed.

"I want to leave!" She yelled.

"I am here to make up for the past Sweet." He held her still.

"Leave me alone and don't call me that!" She struggled but he held on.

"I broke it and I want to be the only one…"

"You are not the only one." She spat and he froze before nodding.

"It doesn't matter, I am here now." He continued.

"She might not be mine but I would take care of her as mine." He confessed and she froze.

"Who?" She dreaded his response.

"Your daughter." He deadpanned.

"How did you…" She had asked but remembered that it was included in her portfolio and trashed the question.

"Don't fight me Carla." This time it was a warning that she could not resist.

"I can as well put you over my table and fuck the hell out of you but I want to take it slow. Be here and be mine completely, let me love you as I should."

She glared at him but he only looked at her with finality.

"Let me go." She pleaded, desperate to leave his office.

"Don't fight it. Don't fight me, you won't win." He advised before turning back towards his chair.

"I'll give you time to get yourself arranged before leaving." He told her and rotated the chair back to the state it was when she was ushered into his office.

Seeing he was indeed not looking, she hurriedly arranged her looks and walked towards the door only for it to open up when she made to stretch her hand towards it.

Without second thoughts, she fled his office, straight into the elevator without looking back.

On entering her department, she had sly looks from her colleagues, but her mind was too occupied to pay attention to them.

On getting to her cubicle, she sat on the chair and placed her head on her desk tiredly only to feel a tap on her left shoulder.

Wanting to curse out loud, she raised her head towards the direction of the tap to see the face of her neighbor whose only words ever since she started working there had been mumbled greetings.

"What is it?" She wasn't in the mood to entertain stupid questions.

She presented her with a package and Carla frowned, wondering why her neighbor would suddenly want to give her something.

As if reading her mind, the nervous lady shook her head. "It isn't from me."

Carla's frown deepened, wondering if it was from Damien and why he would want to gift her when he could just give her whatever it was back in his office.

"It came in a few minutes after you left for the President's office." She informed.

'What if it's from Rhys?' She thought and with widened eyes, she grabbed the package from the nervous lady before muttering a 'thank you' and proceeding to tear it open while making sure she was the only one who got to see whatever is there.

She sat perplexed on her chair when the only thing she got from the nameless parcel was an extremely old newspaper. She had wanted to push it aside when she saw a large picture of a woman in the middle of the first page looking exactly like her.

She grabbed the newspaper and held it close to her face with her eyes widened. She looked at the heading to see the title – "THE MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARANCES IN THE DARKWOOD FOREST!"
