Chapter 24 - Kei wins the tournament

The blue and the red beam clashed with both trying to overwhelm each other.

"Amazing. His technique is just like Kamehameha." Goku said to himself.

"Haaaaaaaaaa." However, I knew I was not in the position to be impressed by Goku's power.

Because I knew Goku could still fight after this but I don't not know if I could even move after my final gambit.

My eyes began to give out as it felt like my head started spinning.

My vision becomes blurry.

But even then I still push my body to the limits.

A few seconds later I felt as if a huge boulder that was on my shoulder had been lifted.

It seems like I have won the beam clash.

I wanted to hung on to see if Goku was really defeated since winning a beam clash does not necessarily mean your opponent lost the fight.

But I could not.

My body doesn't have any energy left to even stand.

I can feel my legs and body give out as I collapse to the ground.

*****

"Owwww. What happened?" Goku said as he rubbed his head.

But then he looked around and realised that he was out of bounds.

He remembered that he had lost the beam clash and was hit directly by Kei's attack.

After that, he fell to the ground.

Outside of the ring.

Meaning that he has been eliminated from the tournament.

He seemed a little disappointed but first but he quickly smiled knowing that the guy who won is also strong and there is nothing to be ashamed of.

He is even a bit happy that there is a strong guy who could fight on par with him.

"That guy is really strong. I wonder if I could fight him again in the future." Goku said while smiling.

*****

When the dust cleared Goku was out of bounds but still looked like he was able to fight.

However Kei was still in the ring, but he did not look like he could open his eyes let alone continue the fight.

"What just happened? Did Son-kun lose?" Bulma questioned.

"Goku is out of the ring. That means.." Yamcha was also speechless.

"What a twist? Contestant Son Goku have been knocked out of the ring by contestant Satori Kei. The winner of this match is Satori Kei." The announcer yelled out.

Kei was lucky. Despite him not being in any condition to fight anymore he still needs a count of ten to be eliminated from the fight.

While a ringout is an automatic disqualification even if the fighter is still able to fight.

Kei was escorted off the stage by a few tournament personnel.

"With contestant Satori not being in the best condition for a fight will be postponed the finals until he can fight again." The announcer said to the audience.

"Again?"

"It can't be helped the fighters that participate this year are really strong."

With many matches already being postponed the audience was starting to run out of patience.

But they understand that the quality of this year's fighters was much better than in the previous years so no one makes a huge fuss about it.

At that moment Master Roshi who was still disguised as Jackie Chan walked up to the stage towards the announcer.

"Sir. Do you have any problems?" The announcer asked in a polite tone.

"I want to drop out of the competition." Jackie Chan said.

"Ehhhhhh." Everyone who heard what Jackie Chan just said was in shock.

Despite Kei winning the fight against Goku he gained a lot of injuries and if the finals continued Master Roshi would have been the favourite.

Since the possibility of Kei recovering to full health and power is not that high.

But his purpose for participating is not to win, but to stop his two students from becoming too arrogant after winning the tournament.

Since both of them are eliminated there is no reason for him to continue anymore.

If Satori Kei was not a good person he might have continued to fight just so that he could guide him in the right direction direction.

But after the boy overpowered the Evil ki inside his body and showed a vermilion colour aura he realised that the boy was not truly evil deep inside his heart and there is no need for him to meddle.

"Are you serious?" The announcer asked.

"Yes." He replied.

"Really. Serious?" The announcer asked again.

"How many times do I have to tell you?" Jackie Chan said in anger as he was starting to get annoyed.

"I see." The announcement acknowledged his decision and put his microphone near his mouth to make an announcement.

"Since contestant Jackie Chan has withdrawn from the fight contestant Satori Kei is crowned as the champion of the Tenkaichi budokai." The announcer said.

There were boos and cheers but Kei was unable to hear them as he was in the infirmary.

*****

At the infirmary.

"It was unexpected but He won," Baba said.

She knows her brother enough to say that he would give up his glory for the younger generation if he knew that they possess no evil in their heart.

Baba was a bit conflicted.

With the price money the debt she owes to the boy becomes a bit smaller and she knows he would leave after waking up to seek out more opportunities.

To become stronger and to repay his debt to her completely.

"Such a shame. He would have been nice to keep around. Especially since more women show up for my fortune-telling with him around." Baba sighed.

"He is also really strong." Bandages said.

"I am sure we will see him again," Spike said while smiling.

"Let's leave. We already left him a note telling him our mailing address. He will know where to send the money after he wakes up." Baba said to Spike and Bandages.

She does not want to wait for hours for him to wake up just to take the prize money when he can just send her through mail.

The two nodded at her words.

Then the three of them disappeared as they teleported back to the place where they lived.
