Morena rode near the third wagon as Darron instructed.
Of course, it was clear the mercenaries did not seem too happy with her presence. A few kept looking over at her, some more openly than others, and they seemed cautious that she might do something.
Morena noticed this fact, but she did not pay much attention to it.
A lone rider suddenly joining a merchant group was suspicious, especially someone armed and not very talkative. If she were in their position, she would have been careful as well, or she may have refused the offer altogether.
Still, it was better for her to join them.
Travelling alone had its uses, but for such a long journey it wasn't ideal. A single rider with a sword could attract all kinds of fools; that's why travelling with a merchant group made things easier.
