In the command center, Kyle, Shawn and Sarah arrive as Jake, Ashley, Cassandra and James approach and hug them.
Ashley: What happened?
Shawn: Barnes.....he survived...he kidnapped Sarah...tried to kill us.
Sarah: I know about what happened with Nathan...what really happened.
James: "What really happened"?
Kyle: Yeah.... Barnes never killed Billy or Nathan...Nathan killed Billy.... he was going to kill Ashley.....so I killed him.
James and Cassandra give shocked looks as James gives a nod towards, sensing he has lost respect for Nathan.
James: Fuck....Nathan.....I-I can't believe...
Cassandra: He was one of you.
Ashley: So was Billy....so was Walter....
Cassandra: but he was your brother.
Sarah: Yeah, he was....
Kyle: Guys, we'll talk about this later.....I'm just sorry that I didn't tell y'all as soon as it happened....
Shawn: Dude, you had your reasons.
Kyle: Where's Caleb, Mitchell and Maya?
Cassandra: They're helping evacuating civilians.
Jake: C'mon, guys....let's finish this.
Kyle, Jake, Shawn, James, Sarah, Ashley and Cassandra approach Pierce and Bowers, who are looking over a map of the Condemned Tunnels.
Kyle: What's the situation now?
Bowers: We have a plan, but it won't be easy.
Jake: It never is, huh?
Pierce: We've managed to locate an underground cavern near the sinkhole, where the Condemned are coming from. We believe that an A.O.W Nuke can give Midtown Manhattan the push it needs to kill these monsters.
Kyle: alright. So what's the price?
Bowers: Due to a lot of Manticores near the sinkhole, we can't risk getting a chopper down there. We need someone with underground experience to clear out the target area.
Kyle: I guess we're the ones with "underground experience".
Bowers: Damn right...
Shawn: Let's do it.
Kyle: No, Shawn. I want you and James to help with that nuke.
James: but Kyle....
Kyle: This is not a discussion.
A short pause.
James: Okay....
Kyle: Jake, I need you with me.....you going to be okay going underground?
Jake: Yeah.....I got your back, brother.
Cassandra: What about us?
Kyle: Cassandra, you, Ashley and Sarah help evacuate everyone else.
Pierce: all right....this is it.....I'll give you guys a few moments.
Kyle, Jake, Shawn, James, Sarah, Ashley, Caleb, Mitchell, Cassandra and Maya are sharing one last moment.
Kyle: There's a saying; there is a calm, before the storm.....we're up against the same enemy except much stronger.....we lost Walter...we lost Alexandria.....we've lost a lot of people to this war....I can't tell you all how honored I am.....that I've found all of you....I couldn't have asked for a better group to have survived with....this is the last day of Midtown Manhattan, but it's not the last day we find each other....no matter where we go....where we live....we build something for each other....that's what we do...never give up hope.....you are all my brothers and my sisters in this apocalypse that we live.....now, let us live in it as family.
Jake, Shawn, James, Ashley, Caleb, Mitchell, Cassandra and Maya depart with the exception of Kyle and Sarah.
Sarah: You know this isn't the last time I'll see you.
Kyle: This won't be.....what we have....it won't end here...we will be together.....in this world or the next....we'll always be together.
Kyle and Sarah share a kiss, before Kyle departs with Jake. In the library, Kyle and Jake equipped with A.O.W rifles moves in and takes cover as they notice Condemned have taken over the library. The two brothers open fire on two Condemned drones, before a gun fight ensues.
Kyle: We gotta get through the library to get to the sinkhole.
Jake manages to spot two ways into the library.
Jake: Looks like there's two ways in.
Kyle: Split up then!
Kyle and Jake take the separate ways in the library as Kyle takes down a Condemned Flamethrower, managing to equip a flamethrower. Kyle and Jake fight through countless armies of Condemned across the city of Midtown Manhattan. While fighting through the casino, Kyle and Jake come across the Gods Fist Weapon as Kyle equips it.
Kyle talks into his radio.
Kyle: Bowers! Is the Gods Fist weapon satellites overhead?
Bowers: Yeah, they should be.
Kyle: Good.
Condemned Brutes equipped with shields and flays appear as Kyle destroys them with the Gods Fist weapon. A Manticore appears as Kyle uses the Gods Fist to destroy it, causing another building to collapse.
Jake: Kyle! Oh, fuck!
Kyle: Move back! Move back!
In the midst of the destruction, Kyle and Jake stand up and continue moving forward. Kyle and Jake finally giant sinkhole of Midtown Manhattan.
Jake: My god...looks so much bigger in person then from up there.
Kyle: There was a lot here....
Jake: You ever thought that Midtown Manhattan would be safe?
Kyle: I wanted to...we need to get through all of this.....let's use that crane to get across.
Kyle walks over to the crane and takes over the controls, before using the crane to lift up a wooden pallet just as Condemned forces appear and begin opening fire.
Jake: C'mon, Kyle.....today would be nice.
Kyle: Hey, wise ass, you try controlling a fucking crane.
Kyle uses the crane to control the pallet as Jake gets on the pallet, before Kyle uses the crane to get Jake across. Jake speaks to himself.
Jake: Oh...don't look down....don't look down....don't look down.....fuck...
Kyle manages to get Jake across safely.
Jake: I'm good!
Kyle: Okay, Jake, use that crane on your side to get me across.
Jake runs over the other crane as Condemned attack, shooting the controls and causing the crane malfunction. The crane's tower begins to become unstable as Jake presses on the controls, but the crane tower falls, creating a bridge.
Kyle: Okay....it's not what I had planned, but fuck it.
Jake: My bad.
Kyle and Jake continue fighting through the Condemned, travelling lower to the sinkhole and reaching the top of a rooftop, where the Condemned use grappling hooks to climb on the rooftop and attack, but Kyle and Jake hold off the Condemned attacking. The fight ensues for a while, before the rooftop caves in.
Kyle: Oh, shit! Hold on! We're going down!
The rooftop lands at the bottom floor as Kyle and Jake recover.
Jake: Are we at the bottom yet?
Kyle: No.....
Kyle groans.
Kyle: Damn, that hurt....you okay?
Jake: All good, little brother. All good.
Kyle and Jake fight through Condemned on the rooftops, before they attempt to travel through a downed satellite.
Kyle: Please....stay stable.
The satellite begins to fall.
Kyle: Fuck me! Not again!
The satellite falls into the sinkhole as Kyle and Jake fall out. In the command center, James is hacking into the A.O.W Nuke as Manticores continue attacking with Shawn and Marcus holding them off. In the sinkhole, Kyle and Jake recover, before Jake notices the open cavern.
Jake: Kyle! There it is! We're almost there!
Kyle and Jake fight their way into a building with an army of Condemned and a Goliath opening fire on the building.
Kyle: There's a Goliath down there! It's firing on the building! Hang on!
Kyle uses the Gods Fist Hammer to destroy most of the Condemned army, but the Goliath destroys the support beams of the building, causing it to collapse.
Kyle: Give us a goddamned break!
The building collapses on top of the Condemned army and the Goliath. Inside the burning structure of what remains of the building, Kyle and Jake recover.
Jake: Dude, we can't be this fucking lucky.
Kyle: Well, we are....keep moving! This place won't last long!
Kyle and Jake move through the burning structure as Kyle presses on the elevator button.
Kyle: C'mon! Goddamn it! C'mon!
The elevator opens as Kyle and Jake enter. As the elevator moves, Kyle and Jake notice a burning Brute and Skinner, before the elevator stops.
Kyle: This shit is fucking surreal.
The elevator opens as the trapped Goliath opens fire on Kyle and Jake.
Jake: The pilot's still alive!
Kyle: We need to sneak around it and kill the driver! Stay down!
Kyle and Jake manage to get past the gunfire of the Goliath machine guns, before Kyle shoots and kills the pilot. Kyle and Jake examine the Goliath.
Jake: All right...let's get over there and finish it.....but first, let's kill this thing.
Kyle: Wait, Jake....this thing is still alive...
Jake: Yeah?
Kyle: Well.....maybe, we could....
Jake: Oh, no! Hell no! No! Fuck that! No!
Kyle: Hold up! This could make this a whole lot faster! Think!
Jake: Manticores are one thing, man, but a goddamn Goliath! It's impossible!
Kyle: Controls' can't be that hard....you never know til you try.
Jake sighs.
Jake: I'm going to regret this.....
Kyle and Jake enter the Goliath's pilot seat as Kyle controls it to get the Goliath out of its trapped state, before it makes its way inside the cavern.
