It took Sarios quite a while to find his voice again. He gave a tactical cough to regain his composure.
"Ahem... Kyle's spellcasting is... just a teensy bit behind Ava's, that's all… hehehehehe…"

With a student this talented, the teacher was starting to look like a total deadweight. She didn't know whether to be happy for Kyle… or beat up Sarios just to vent a little.
She glanced at the time and realized she'd already spent long enough in the game. Time to get to school. Since in-game time passed twice as fast as in the real world, by the time she got home from classes, more than a dozen hours would have passed in the game.
Now that Kyle had both defensive spells and had just learned a new offensive one, Ava could feel at least a little more at ease. But what he still lacked were the essentials—basic adventuring knowledge and an understanding of the continent of Nolan. And in that regard… she wasn't any better off than him.
