Chapter 273 - Pokémon: Breeding Simulator [273] [400 STONES]

"This building is currently the largest laboratory complex on the island."

"It's even better equipped than most of the Alliance's research facilities," Giovanni explained, standing beside Elias and looking up at the building now occupied by Mewtwo.

His expression carried clear pride, his usually emotionless features subtly reflecting confidence in Team Rocket's capabilities.

Yet, moments later, his tone turned serious.

"But there's one troubling issue—Mewtwo seems to have used the equipment inside to make something."

"Moreover, before that, she had already absorbed extensive knowledge about human society through the network."

Giovanni unconsciously furrowed his brow.

As Mewtwo's creator, Giovanni deeply understood the immense potential she held—not only in sheer power but also in intellect. According to his estimates, Mewtwo could learn in mere days what humans might take years to master.

His concern was that, armed with such vast knowledge and access to state-of-the-art facilities, Mewtwo might create something genuinely dangerous.

Elias nodded thoughtfully after hearing Giovanni's explanation.

It certainly sounded troublesome, yet it wasn't enough to deter him.

After all…

From the emotions emanating from Mewtwo, it was clear that her sense of helplessness and fear outweighed her anger.

A Pokémon with such vulnerabilities, even when emotionally unstable, wouldn't behave as destructively as Giovanni feared.

"I understand."

"Have your people make some room—I'll go in and have a look," Elias said calmly, gesturing toward the lab entrance.

Giovanni paused, clearly taken aback by Elias's decisive acceptance.

Before Elias arrived, Giovanni had mentally prepared himself for rejection. Even if Elias declined, Giovanni could accept it; after all, most people would understandably shy away from confronting a powerful Pokémon in a state of frenzy.

Besides, Giovanni privately believed Elias himself was far more valuable than Mewtwo.

Yet…

The young man showed no hesitation or difficulty whatsoever.

"Are you sure you don't want Gardevoir to accompany you?" Giovanni glanced sideways at the Pokémon beside Elias, suggesting cautiously. With such a powerful Pokémon escorting him, Elias's safety would be far more assured.

"No," Elias gently shook his head. "Gardevoir going inside might frighten Mewtwo even further."

At this, Gardevoir pouted unhappily, gently pinching Elias's arm as if protesting his implication that she was somehow intimidating.

Still…

Glancing at Elias, her heart remained uneasy.

She wasn't alone—Zoroark and Latias both looked equally hesitant.

Just then, from the corner of her eye, Gardevoir spotted Mew floating innocently nearby.

Her eyes instantly brightened.

Reaching out swiftly, Gardevoir grabbed Mew and stuffed the startled Pokémon directly into Elias's arms.

"Gar—(Take her along, too.)"

Although somewhat reluctant, Gardevoir firmly suggested.

Considering Mew's blood relation to Mewtwo, the latter likely wouldn't reject her nominal "mother." Moreover, Mew was capable enough to protect Elias if necessary, making this arrangement particularly sensible.

Though bringing Mew had been a spur-of-the-moment decision from Gardevoir, surprisingly, everyone else quickly agreed.

Even Giovanni nodded in approval, expressing his support.

Seeing no alternative, Elias reluctantly consented.

...

Elias now walked carefully through the darkened halls, carrying Mew in his arms. Although it was daytime, the windows had been thoroughly sealed, plunging the facility into complete darkness. Luckily, relying on both psychic and aura powers, impaired vision was hardly a challenge for him.

"Mew~"

Snuggling comfortably in Elias's embrace, Mew purred happily, rubbing her head affectionately against his arm.

She had waited forever for a chance to be alone with Elias again. And today, even better—it had been Gardevoir herself who suggested it.

Recalling Gardevoir's unwilling, sour expression, Mew struggled to suppress a delighted giggle.

It was absolutely the right decision to let Giovanni create Mewtwo back then.

Before even meeting, Mewtwo had already gifted her this wonderful private time with Elias.

Imagining what delightful events awaited once they actually met made Mew nearly dizzy with excitement.

"Mew!"

Thrilled, Mew leaped lightly into the air.

Her small body glowed softly, transforming in front of Elias's eyes into a red-haired human girl.

Elias blinked, momentarily stunned.

Mew had taken on Latias's human form this time.

First it was Gardevoir, now Aunt Tias…

Every time they spent time alone, Mew seemed eager to mimic the forms of other Pokémon around him.

Elias couldn't help but wonder what bizarre influences this silly kitten had been secretly observing all this time.

"Mew~ (Come on, hurry up~)"

Mew grabbed Elias's hand, impatiently pulling him deeper into the building.

She couldn't wait to finally see Mewtwo face-to-face.

Mmm… Maybe turning into Mewtwo's own form would be even more entertaining.

As she guided Elias along, Mew's mind raced excitedly with new ideas.

---

Inside a large glass tank filled with nutrient fluid, a pale-pink figure curled up painfully.

Her tightly furrowed brow made it clear just how miserable she felt.

Again…

Sharp waves of agony radiated throughout her body, causing Mewtwo to clench her claws involuntarily.

Having exited her incubation chamber far too soon, she had barely lasted a single day before severe discomfort overtook her. Now, with each passing moment, she felt her body weakening rapidly.

The leftover nutrient fluid scattered around the lab no longer soothed her agony effectively.

She knew the logical thing to do was to comply with Team Rocket, allowing them to thoroughly examine and treat her weakened condition.

But…

Mewtwo refused to submit.

She'd broken free precisely because she sensed Elias was in danger. Until she rescued that human, she absolutely refused to return.

Remembering the gentle warmth that radiated from Elias the moment they met, Mewtwo's determination solidified further.

After all…

He was the only one who had ever made her feel warmth and kindness.

Splash—

With this thought, Mewtwo abruptly sat upright, liquid splashing around her.

The fluid had lost all effectiveness—her body was nearing its absolute limit.

Before it failed completely, she must find and rescue Elias.

In these few short days, she had learned enough to know that Elias's attacker was an immensely powerful Pokémon dwelling in shadows.

To counter it, Mewtwo had already dedicated herself to researching methods specifically designed to defeat Giratina.
