A total of five members were selected for the mission. Bill Bailey was appointed leader of this temporary team, his duty being to coordinate the operation while remaining hidden from prying eyes. Morgan Rogers was chosen to impersonate Earl Pearson, while the other three members replaced the guards at the vacation house.
A few days earlier, Bill had received an urgent message from SRU headquarters stating that faint traces of corruption had been detected in the Essex area. The corruption was intermittent and fleeting, leading them to suspect it was sealed within some kind of container. He was ordered to locate its source. Using an artefact to track the corruption, Bill eventually fixed his target on Cynthia.
