"You fools don't understand the power Lord Im truly possesses. You think Ayr is strongâbut to her, he isn't even a threat!" the old man with the sword said with a slow, confident tone, eyes narrowed.
"Silver Axe, weren't you once Ayr's companion?" Redfield folded his arms across his chest, his gaze sharp. "If you underestimate a man like that, you're going to pay dearly."
He had crossed paths with Ayr back in Loguetown. He'd seen the monster that now walked in this era.
Suddenly, a bloodied pirate came running up from the distance, breath ragged, panic on his face.
"Captain! Urgent report!"
Just moments before, they'd heard rumors about the Eternal Pose pointing to the long-lost Valley of the Gods.
"The Valley of the Gods Eternal Pointer...?"
A chill ran down Ochoku's spine. He cracked a sinister grin. "Heh⊠just wait. You'll be reunited with Ayr in hell soon enough."
If that Eternal Pose did exist, someone would've found it long ago.
That infamous battle on Hive Island, years ago, had only happened because of Ayr's sudden appearance.
He remembered it too well.
He'd barely escapedâwounded and aloneâwhile all his men were slaughtered.
If Ayr really believed Uranus, the ancient weapon, was hidden in the Valley of the Gods...
"It's been buried beneath the sea for years. There's nothing there but Rocks D. Xebec's corpse," John said grimly. "If Ayr isn't after Uranus... then maybe, just maybeâhe's going for Rocks' body?"
"Tch. Did he sense we were coming and run off like a coward?" Silver Axe sneered, masking his unease.
His grudge against Ayr wasn't small.
In that one punchâthe one Im failed to stopâAyr changed everything.
"Understand him? So what?" Silver Axe scoffed. "With all five of us working together, if Ayr dares show his face, he's dead."
But deep down, he remembered the horrorâhow Ayr had defeated three of Roger's core commanders single-handedly.
"You're just frogs at the bottom of the well," John said with disdain. "You know his strengthâbut you've never understood ours!"
Even facing the infamous Ochoku and the other pirate legends, he showed no fear.
"No," Byrnndi World murmured, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "It's not that simple. Ayr isn't the type to chase empty goals. If he's going to the Valley of the Gods... he has a reason."
The pirates moaning on the ground, half-dead, suddenly stirred when they heard Ayr's name.
"He's back⊠Lord Ayr is back!"
They had fought under Ayr, followed him loyallyâand they knew just how terrifying he truly was.
The five great pirates of the New World had united.
But even so, they couldn't overwhelm his territory. His army of ten thousand warriors might have fallenâbut his name alone still carried a storm.
Silver Axe had once mocked Ayrâbut now, his smile faded. He couldn't deny the truth anymore.
Ayr⊠was dangerous.
He wasn't just powerfulâhe was clever, too.
"Hahaha⊠don't tell me Ayr is going to Rocks' body to have a conversation with a corpse?" Silver Axe tried to joke, but his voice wavered slightly.
"Even if we died under his hands, Lord Ayr will avenge us," one of his former followers wheezed.
Back at Marine HQ, the Five Elders had spoken so highly of Im's powerâbut many among the higher ranks couldn't help frowning.
After all, standing against Ayr now were five legendary pirates: Redfield, Byrnndi World, Ochoku, Captain John, and Silver Axe.
That alone should've been enough to crush anyone.
But Ayr wasn't just anyone.
He had humiliated them all in different ways.
Byrnndi World had once tried to rob the auction house in Sabaody. Ayr had foiled his plansâand destroyed his amassed treasure.
That pain was still fresh.
"Any sign of Ayr?" Ochoku demanded, glancing back at his crew.
"The locals say Ayr sailed off a few days ago. Said he was looking for the Eternal Pose to the Valley of the Gods," Redfield confirmed.
Hearing that, John, Silver Axe, and Ochoku exchanged sharp looks.
So Ayr had left... but why now?
"To provoke us will be your worst decision yet, Lord Ayr. You're going to die for this!" Silver Axe growled.
"You think so?" a voice came from behind.
Those who had followed Ayr for years never doubted him. They were willing to die for himâand many had.
They believed in one thing: vengeance would come.
The Five Elders had long departed, leaving behind only warnings.
But their faith in Im remained unshakenâeven if none of them could actually confirm her power.
Back in the New World, deep in the heart of the bloodstained country of DeRosta, things were escalating.
Byrnndi World didn't buy the Uranus theory.
Ayr was a strategistâa man who never did anything without purpose.
He didn't believe the search for Uranus was Ayr's true goal.
Besides, if Marine forces and the World Government had scoured the Valley of the Gods for ten years, what could be left?
UnlessâŠ
"He's going for something else," Byrnndi whispered. "Something only he knows is still there."
"A man like that doesn't waste time," Redfield agreed.
"If you think so highly of him, why not admit he rules the world now?" John barked, irritated.
But even he had to wonderâwhy now?
They had buried the Valley of the Gods years ago.
Hadn't he been the one who ordered the bombardment that sank it?
And yet, Ayr had stood on the cliff and summoned a meteor, splitting the heavens.
Even now, they trembled at the memory.
Only days ago, Ayr's men had returned to DeRosta, questioning the locals about the Eternal Pose's location.
They hadn't come as guestsâthey'd arrived with ten thousand pirates and slaughtered everyone in their path.
Now, in a ruined square surrounded by corpses, Ochoku stood laughing, blade dripping with blood.
The Five Great PiratesâRedfield, Byrnndi World, Ochoku, John, and Silver Axeâhad regrouped.
Each had their own past with Ayr.
Each had their reasons for hatred.
As Silver Axe once said, "As his former comrade, I know how terrifying Ayr's talent isâŠ"
But if Uranus was truly hidden in the Valley of the Gods, why hadn't they searched for it ten years ago?
Ochoku, John, and Silver Axe all paused.
The question gnawed at them.
Then came the call.
"Captain! A ship has been spottedâone man standing alone on the bow. It's Ayr!"
John scoffed. "I thought this guy was smartâbut he's just an idiot. There's no ancient weapon there. He's wasting his time."
Silver Axe narrowed his eyes. "He's strong, sureâbut with the five of us together? He's nothing."
