Chapter 43 - 43-Hidden civilization

Collecting samples was quite uneventful. Unlike what I thought, this wasn't risky at all. En Sabah Nur didn't wake up the whole time... not like he could, with me putting him unconscious. So, I just calmly collected every sample I needed.

'This should be enough to research his body to the greatest result possible, right?' I asked Raph, just confirming again.

[Yes, master. With these materials, just give me ten days' time, and Apocalypse's genes won't have any secrets at all. I will also begin researching how to change mutant powers into Asgardian powers—and make it appear as if they're not mutant powers. Basically, no matter how hard anyone researches, they will only conclude that Aesir powers and mutant powers are different from each other.]

'Good. Also, make it so that instead of awakening random powers, I can personally create the powers—down to their smallest details, limits, and everything. I don't want anyone awakening random powers. Instead, I would assign them different god statuses and give them powers accordingly.'

[Great idea, and simple enough. Can be done with ease. A few months should be enough, considering that I already have all the samples needed. Anything else you desire, master?]

'Nothing for now, Raph. Let's go back... We have a hidden civilization to create.'

[Yes, master~]

And with everything done, I headed back, leaving En Sabah Nur as he was. He would receive some damage from the sample collection, but most of it would heal soon—nothing permanent.

I opened another gate and arrived at the safehouse I had created for Freyja and Sersi.

As I entered, I saw Freyja and Sersi talking to each other while laughing... which was strange... when did they get so close?

"Hello, ladies, mind if I join in?" I asked with a smile, taking a seat. If they were getting along, it was good. No need to make a fuss over that...

"Huh, that was awfully quick. You acted as if it was gonna take some time... you're literally back within an hour," Freyja nagged.

"I already accomplished what I was here for, so I returned. Now, we have nothing to do here—but since we are already here, let's just enjoy the scenery and act like tourists. The architecture style here is different from other places," I said, relaxed. Considering that there was no threat or anything, visiting is a good idea... anyways, I don't intend to start a religion here, so a good place to relax, I guess...

Although there were already some deserts in this part of Africa, it was not yet the Sahara it will be in the future. On the contrary, despite the terribly hot climate, the place had quite good scenery.

"Good architecture? How can you call human architecture good? Babylon was nothing special. Harappa was nothing but cubes everywhere, and here all the buildings are triangle—or rather, pyramid—like. Asgard is like thousands of times better than this, right? Instead, why don't we go to the oceans or something, or places we don't have back on Asgard or Vanaheim..." Freyja said thoughtfully.

"New places? Well, we lack deserts there, so that means we are staying here," I said in a sage-like voice. My reason? Impeccable.

But Freyja just looked at me with a deadpan expression. "We are leaving here tomorrow," she ordered.

"Alright. I have something fun in mind that I want to do..." I replied thoughtfully. Perfect time to start building my hidden super-advanced civilization was here...

"Something fun??? You're not going to destroy some civilization, are you?" Freyja asked, looking at me with suspicion...

"What the hell? Why would I do that? NO. Why would you think I would do something like that?" I asked back, exasperated... like... when have I ever done something like that? All these fake accusations...

"Umm, did our wisdom god forget what he did back at Babylon?" Freyja asked, her eyebrows raised, and smile playful...

"I healed everyone back though..." I argued.

"Sadly, property damage is a thing."

"I blessed them, that should compensate for it..." I debated further.

"Wasn't that the compensation for you nearly killing them off?" Damn, when did she get so smart...

"I left them with a building so cool and beautiful, they can't make something like that in thousands of years... that compensates for the property damage." I brought out my trump card.

"So your idea of compensation for destroying their homes is to build a temple of yourself, where they can go and thank you for destroying their homes?"

"Alright, enough. I plan to create a hidden technologically advanced civilization here on Midgard." Yes, the debate can't continue. I was losing. My wisdom was telling me that furthering that topic would yield no benefits.

[Well... it was kind of your fault... If you insist on compensating, then do it for everything, or else just leave it altogether.]

'I genuinely didn't think of it. And isn't it kind of like your thing to remind me wherever I fumble up?'

[...]

'You did not think of it either, did you, Raph?'

[...]

'Thought so.'

"Why technologically advanced? Where's the fun in that? Why not magical?" Freyja asked. She seemed interested, so that's good, but that doesn't mean I was asking for her opinion.

"Super advanced technological civilization seems more fun," I argued back.

"Aren't magical civilizations rarer?" Freyja asked—a genuine question.

"It seems you have been in good company lately. You're getting smarter and raising valid points... but you are not yet at my level... I mean, why bicker and choose? Let's just do both." I smiled.

"Narcissistic fool... but yes, we can do both. Both will be hidden?" Freyja asked, and I ignored the first comment. No time to hear her lies—got a civilization to build.

"Obviously. Hidden is much better." I smiled...

I was about to pull off a Harry Potter with my magical civilization, because, why not? They are not very strong, have a lot of issues going on, have a good drama happening like every few decades, and are pretty fun too...

Of course, the wizards might complain that having a new dark lord every few decades isn't fun, but hey, I am not taking reviews here...

I might just even orchestrate them to build a Hogwarts, but that would be it. I don't want an exact copy of Harry Potter—I have read it, watched it, binge-watched it again and again—so yeah, already know everything about that. I need new drama, and Freyja's idea of a magical world fits just that.

'So how do we let humans gain magic without drawing it from other dimensions, Raph?'

[No need to worry, already prepared, master~]

Hello everyone,

You might have noticed the sudden irregularity in my updating stability. Sadly, I would have to inform that this would continue for some time now....

I have my endsems coming up, and I gotta have to study enough to ensure that I don't get any backlogs, so I would try my best to upload, but there would be lesser chapters,

Sorry about that.
