Chapter 24 - FIGHT!

**************************************************************************************

[MISSION CONTROL ROOM – Now half-burned, coffee refilled, someone definitely cried.]

Mei (analyzing a holo-map, serious): "So let me get this straight. V singlehandedly distracted a sentient elf, juggled drone swarms, stole the Sacred Key, and triggered a Honkai drake?"

Kiana (eating chips): "Don't forget the explosions. It's not a weekday if V doesn't set something on fire."

Bronya (deadpan): "The Bronya calculates a 79.2% probability V is cursed by divine trolling."

Captain (arms crossed, twitching slightly): "He yelled at the god in the sky, Bronya. Yelled. In the sky. And I'm still not over the mecha."

Rita (calmly sipping tea, somehow untouched by chaos): "The drake design is rather elegant. Almost poetic in the way it melted half of London."

Kiana: "Yikes. Mei, is that our cue to do something? Or are we still in the 'watch our teammate fight a god-made nightmare alone' phase?"

Mei (sighs): "Honestly, at this point? I say we give him five more minutes. He might solo it just out of spite."

[Cut to: Outside, amidst the ruins]

[V dodging a laser the size of a truck, cloak fluttering, emotionless as ever.]

V: (internally) "This isn't even the worst Monday I've had."

[Drake roars. V raises a hand, a dimensional fissure spiraling around it.]

V:"Initiating spatial tear. Estimated success: 27%. Acceptable."

[Back at HQ]

Bronya: "The Bronya detects dimensional instability. V is attempting to fold space-time... with his bare hands."

Kiana: "Okay but can we help him though? Or do we just keep watching like it's free Netflix?"

Captain (pointing at Rita): "She literally said, 'I'll handle it myself.' Then didn't handle it. Now we've got a drake. And I haven't eaten lunch in 36 hours."

Rita (smiling sweetly): "I was merely testing his capabilities. You did say 'teamwork makes the dream work,' Captain."

Captain (snaps): "I meant support, not release a Final Fantasy boss into London!"

Mei (half-smirking): "Honestly? I'm just impressed he hasn't snapped and nuked the city yet."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[Suddenly: Another alert pings]

[Incoming message from: G]

"Hi again~ Just added another boss fight! And this one's got TWO phases. You're welcome! (≧∀≦)"

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bronya: "...The Bronya would like to uninstall reality now."

Kiana: "Same."

Captain (to no one in particular): "How much do you think therapy costs after saving the world twelve times?"

[Back to V – who just nonchalantly redirected a plasma beam using a floating mirror dimension.]

V (quietly): "I swear, if I survive this, I'm deleting every divine entity from my contacts list."

[Cue massive dragon roar. Cue blinding light. Cue V launching into the sky with a spear forged from pure spatial entropy.]

[Back to the control room – absolute silence as they watch the feed.]

Mei (blinking): "...He's soloing the drake."

Kiana: "...With style."

Bronya: "...And minimal emotional expression."

Captain (exhausted): "Someone get him a medal. And a nap. And maybe a girlfriend."

Rita (elegant as ever): "I volunteer for the last one."

Everyone: [stares]

Kiana: "...Rita!"

Rita: smiling, unapologetic "I merely appreciate talent."

Captain (groaning): "I swear, I'm surrounded by beautiful lunatics."

Mei: "That's why you fit right in, Captain."

[Screen cuts to static. Then black. Then a single message:]

[Mission Complete – Sacred Key Secured]

[Status: V – Alive (somehow)]

Captain (collapsing into a chair): "I need a vacation."

Rita: "Shall I plan one for us, Captain?"

Captain (groans louder): "No. No more 'relaxing' in volcanoes, Rita."

[Everyone laughs. Except V. Who is already halfway to the next disaster.]

[Fade out with dramatic theme music that V would definitely hate.]

**************************************************************************************

Collision of Steel and Flame A deafening roar shook the ruins of London, reverberating through the shattered skyline.

The source? A monstrous beast standing at a terrifying 10–15 meters tall, leaving nothing but rubble in its wake.

Its sheer size made it impossible to miss.

Rita, clad in her Argent Knight: Artemis battlesuit, leapt aside just in time, narrowly dodging another devastating strike from an enemy that bore a chilling resemblance to elf Kevin Kaslana

She had been battling him for far too long.

Her body bore the marks of their clash, bruised and cut, while her opponent remained eerily unaffected.

Rita:(If this keeps up... I'm done for.)

Still struggling to defend and evade, Rita suddenly heard a firm voice from behind.

???: "Dodge."

Without hesitation, she obeyed—and just in time.

A brilliant beam of light shot past her shoulder, crashing into the elf-like Kevin and kicking up a massive cloud of debris.

She turned, eyes wide, to see a familiar figure—the masked man who had previously vanished into the shadows.

Rita: "Ara~ Coming back to help? You're more of a gentleman than I thought."

V: "Honestly, I wasn't planning to. But... the situation changed."

Rita: "Situation?"

Before he could answer, a thunderous roar echoed from above.

A white, wingless draconic beast covered in Honkai corruption descended from the skies.

Rita: "...Ah, that situation."

Somewhere Beyond the Mortal Realm

Floating high above, two God figures observed the chaos below.

Playful God: "Aww~ V-chan must really love my present! He even called out for me~"

A second figure, draped in white and yawning lazily, rolled his eyes.

Lazy God: "That wasn't a call of joy. You're just making things worse again."

Playful God: "Nonsense! This is how I show love! A little chaos is good for the soul~"

Lazy God: "Right..."

A long pause. Then

Playful God: "...Fine, fine. I might've wanted to mess with V-chan a little."

Lazy God: "Hah... I knew it."

Playful God: "But it's his fault! All he does is watch that silver-haired girl play games and chat with that purple girl or fight with that tuna So boring! He needs a little excitement!"

Lazy God: "So you created a drake that could actually kill him?"

Playful God: "It's just a drake! V-chan will be fine... probably I mean, the chance of him dying is only, like... 2 (don't die) in 10 (die)?"

Lazy God: "That's not low, you maniac."

Playful God: "Hehe~ I'll give him a reward if he survives. Let's have fun!"

Lazy God (muttering): "Why do you have this much energy all the time..."

Turning his gaze toward the reader, he mutters with a sigh,

Lazy God: "...If you're watching, don't expect too much from the combat scenes. The author's not great at writing those."

Back on the Battlefield

Flames rained down.

Rita and V dodged the blasts from the Honkai Drake circling above.

Rita: "As you can see, we need to take that thing down and recover the Divine Key before it's lost."

V: "Are you sure you can retrieve it in time?"

A moment of silence.

Rita: "...You're right. Let's work together—for now. But before that, help me deal with this one."

She deflected another blow from Elf Kevin while V nodded.

V: "Agreed."

Without hesitation, V surged forward.

Elf Kevin countered, slashing at him with a sword blazing with honkai energy.

But V didn't stop.

He gathered dimensional energy into his hand—layer upon layer until it formed a sphere. He dashed forward, blade cutting into him—

Or so it seemed.

The strike passed right through his body, as if he wasn't there.

V: "Got you."

He rammed the dimensional sphere into Elf Kevin's chest.

A crater exploded beneath them from the impact. The elf stood still for a few seconds—then collapsed.

Rita stared, stunned.

V: "Now... where were we?"

Rita: "...If you can do that, why ask for my help?"

V: "That trick won't work on the drake. And it drains more energy than I'd like."

Rita: "I see In that case, I'll contact backup You don't mind, do you?"

V: "Go ahead."

As she activated her comms, V turned his eyes skyward—toward the drake, toward the gods.

V : (Just as I thought… I really hate gods.)
