After reuniting with a past acquaintance, both Isamu and Akari are on their way to obtain an "artifact." It is said that it would bring someone "back" or call someone out from the heavenly sanctuary. Such things do exist in this world; however, it is something that no one could easily obtain. A such dangerous journey, to reset what fate had brought upon Isamu by the gods as his price to pay for opposing the omnipotents. But even if they experienced happiness as they found each other once again, it doesn't mean anyone is getting off without shedding a tear.

As they walked further down the tree-filled land, the plains were finally within reach as they saw the bald land on the horizon.

While walking, Akari couldn't resist to glance at Isamu.

"Hey, Isu..."

Isamu returned Akari's stare back at her.

"Hm? Is there anything wrong, Ari?"

Akari's head dropped low, her hands kept on her back as she continued to walk.

"I've always wondered, Isu. Why do you care about sister Miyu so much? I mean to no offense, but as the first person to ever find you, I'm really curious."

Akari looked away, refusing to look at Isamu after asking such an embarrassing question.

Isamu processed Akari's question really fast; it was easy for him to answer such a question like that.

"Well, Ari. Miyu had been there for me like the whole time. As my warguard, we finish dangerous things as a duo, you get it? We're like partners, something like we're fated."

Akari was surprised by Isamu's answer; however, her heart throbs, and she wanted to ask more.

"How lucky for her to be there for you, I wish I was there for you too, Isu..."

Akari's heart clenched, but her curiousity was stronger.

"Even if she was just your summon? An angel precisely?"

Akari couldn't believe that she asked an outrageous question like that.

Isamu noticed that question was kind of... offendable, however, it is understandable to be that curious as it wasn't common for contractors to have that kind of relationship with their contracts.

"Even if she was just an angel, nobody's opinion could change my mind."

Akari bit her lips in envy, but it was one thing that she couldn't do something about; she can't change that.

Akari knows nobody can force someone to like them.

Even if Akari is a powerful person, she still couldn't get over the fact that Isamu chose Miyu instead of her.

"I know I can't change your mind..."

Akari sighed.

"Isu, since sister Miyu is absent... May I be there for you too...?"

Akari knew her words slipped; she was not supposed to say that.

However, Akari only did mumble that part, and Isu looked like he didn't hear a single thing.

"Hm? What was that, Ari?"

Isamu's innocence was proven just now; he genuinely didn't hear a thing.

"O-Oh, nothing, Isu. Must've been the wind. Hehe..."

Akari tried to dismiss her thoughts, but it kept on going.

"But how could I hate her? She's such an angel... literally."

Akari felt envious again.

"But then again... I kind of wish she didn't exist."

Akari's head was in turmoil, but that was something she couldn't show.

"I wish I were your angel instead."

Akari took a small peek at Isamu from the corner of her eyes.

Akari then sighed at herself; that was not like her.

So she dismissed those thoughts.

Akari straightened her pose as she walked; she was about to get emotional, but that's something for another time.

"Isu, we're finally out."

Akari pointed at the beautiful horizon as the sun shone brightly at their face; it was such a beautiful sight to behold.

Isamu looked; he chuckled.

"I missed this sight, really..."

Isamu was in awe.

After seeing that kind of sight for so long, it left him speechless.

Akari glanced at Isamu.

Akari was admiring Isamu's eyes, while Isamu was admiring the sight in front of him.

"Finally... fresh air to breathe after for so long."

Isamu groaned loudly.

He couldn't miss breathing loudly after this.

Akari, on the other hand, giggled at the funny sight of Isamu.

"Looks like you're enjoying things too much, Isu. You must not forget to thank your benefactors."

Isamu took a small peek at Akari on the corners of his eyes and sighed.

"I know that! You think I lost the knowledge on how to thank people?"

Akari smirked mischeviously.

"You looked like it; am I wrong?"

Isamu rolled his eyes; he decided to let it go for now.

"Whatever, Ari. So for now..."

Isamu then jumped down across the hill and ran like a kid that hasn't gotten outside after some years of being secluded.

Akari looked at the scene that beheld her; it was refreshing.

The scene made her remember the old days.

"We could've been... much... much more, Isu..."

Akari smiled at Isu running across the plains.

The gentle breeze came by.

Akari then looked at the skies, as if someone were with them.

"But for now, sister Miyu, I'll be taking care of him for now."

Akari chuckled and crossed her arms as she followed Isamu.

"Don't get too far now, Isu. You are not familiar with this part of the land."

Akari shouted at Isamu, reminding him that Akari is still his guide.

Isamu heard that very well, so he stopped.

Isamu sensed a human settlement nearby, so he came to Akari.

"I sense a human settlement nearby; does this land have citites or something?"

Akari nodded affirmatively.

"Yes, Isu. That's our first stop. We need you some new sets of clothes and whatever. You look homeless, o' powerful rebel."

Akari joked on Isamu's appearance, and Isamu shrugged that off.

"Oh, but are they rich?"

Isamu hehe'd that statement, as if he was planning to rob someone.

Akari noticed his change of demeanor.

"Oh really? I mean yeah, much richer than your current state, that is."

Isamu rolled his eyes at Akari's bold words.

"Still haven't changed, Ari."

Akari chuckled; she snapped her fingers jokingly.

"Oh whatever, Isu. Just keep that loud mouth of yours shut when we get in the city. I don't want you to cause any trouble."

Akari sighed, knowing Isamu was a troublemaker in the past.

Isamu crossed his arms in an arrogant manner.

"Oh, don't you worry. This all powerful Isamu is not childish anymore."

Isamu walked arrogantly, as if he were still the strongest.

Akari, on the other hand, scoffed; she wasn't convinced.

"Hmph, as if it were true."

Akari then followed through; her expressions were calm and relieved.

Akari took a moment to form a thought...

"This will seriously take a lot of time."
