"Quieten down." Killian snapped at the men behind him. His instincts flared as he realised that there was something amiss. He rose, releasing the man in his hands. He scanned the room.
Something…achoo… something has changed around the room… the air… It's heavier… and denser… thick with rot and forgotten prayers, his beast sneezed loudly. His sneezes started to get louder and louder with each passing second, which was enough evidence to prove that there was something wrong—very wrong in this motherfucking place.
The beta laughed again. Even though he was slumped on the floor, his voice was loud and heavy. Killian dropped his gaze and looked at the beta whose skin was crawling like a thousand insects were seeking an escape from within his flesh. Around him, the others followed suit; spines bowed, jaws went slack, and eyes rolled around until they turned hauntingly white.
And then it began.
