Chapter 11 - 10. Lies

Shivani : Yeah, Nithya is Framed.

Arjun : What can we do now . is there a way to find the real killer.

Shivani : By using the simulated stabbing we can guess the age, height, weight of the assailant. According to the data , the force used to killed Naveen is about 170 Newton . Nithya's is just around 90 to 100 . And the closest one to unknown killer's is yours Arjun . It's 160 .

What's your age, height, weight

Arjun : Am..27 years . height 5'11 weight is about 75 kg

Shivani : So the killer is likely a Male between 25 to 35 years old, stands around 5'5" to 5'11", and weighs between 70 to 85 kilograms.

Nithya stumbled dizzy and weak feeling overwhelmed hearing everything . Arjun held her arms before she could fall.

Shivani : Arjun, You take Nithya home . I will send detailed reports by midnight .

Arjun nodded and supported Nithya and took her to car . The car ride was very silent like the darkness around the city . Nithya felt somewhat relieved that she just found new information which will prove her innocense . Arjun watched Nithya sideways thinking how to find the unknown killer based on the height , weight and age range . Both of them reached the safehouse by dinner time

Arjun : You go fresh up, I will make dinner

Nithya nodded and went to room to fresh up while Arjun prepared a simple yet nutrients dinner for her to gain strength for her baby .

Nithya came out of the room, her hair damp and tied loosely. Her face looked pale but composed. The news from Shivani had shaken her, but it also gave her a small spark of hope — she wasn't alone in this anymore.

Arjun served dinner — a bowl of lentil soup, a few rotis, and sautéed vegetables. It wasn't much, but it was warm, comforting.

Arjun (softly): You need to eat. For you... and for the baby.

Nithya : You don't have to sir .

Arjun : you are my responsibility Nithya. I had to make sure you doing well after everything.

Nithya ( meekily ) : thank you

At dinner, the two of them ate mostly in silence — the only sounds were the clink of spoons against bowls and the faint hum of the city outside. Every now and then, Arjun glanced at Nithya, making sure she ate enough, while she avoided his eyes, lost in her own thoughts. The silence was heavy, but strangely comforting, as if both knew words weren't needed at that moment.

Hours later, the safehouse grew quiet. Nithya, exhausted from the day, had drifted into a deep sleep in her room, her breathing steady at last. Meanwhile, Arjun sat alone in the dimly lit study, his desk scattered with the detailed forensic reports Shivani had sent. His brows furrowed as he's thinking who is the possible person who matches the description. Arjun was lost in thought when his phone rang , he saw the caller ID and found it was Atharva. Before he could attend the call , he heard a terrified scream from Nithya's room .

Arjun's heart skipped a beat at the sound of her scream. He dropped the phone on the table and rushed down the hallway, pushing open Nithya's door with force. Inside, he found her tangled in the sheets, twisting restlessly, her face pale and damp with sweat. She mumbled incoherent words, gasping, then let out another terrified cry as if trying to push something away in her dream.

Nithya : Na..n..naveen n..n..no p..please..please n..no i.. I'm s..sorry n..no please. Ahh..n..no p..please .

Arjun knelt beside the bed, gently shaking her shoulder, trying to pull her out of the nightmare.

Nithya : B..b..baby m..m..my b..baby d..d.. don't g..go . Mu..mumma is s..sor..ry . P..please d.. don't go.

Arjun : Nithya , calm down it's just a dream . You have to wake up now .

Nithya( cries ) : N..n..no p..please . I.. it's d..dark p..please n..no .

Nithya's eyes snapped open, her chest heaving as though she'd just surfaced from drowning. Beads of sweat clung to her forehead, and for a split second, her gaze darted around in panic. Then her eyes landed on Arjun by her side. Without a second thought, she pushed herself up and threw her arms around him, clinging tightly, her body trembling.

Nithya : m..m..my b..baby l..left m..me . M..my baby

Arjun : Shh..Nithya calm down . Your baby didn't leave you . She's still you . Calm down ok .

Arjun took glass of water and made her drink . Nithya drank slowly, her hands trembled still in effect of the dark memories in the form of nightmares.

Arjun : Do you want to talk about it ?

Nithya shook head as no . Arjun set the glass back on the table, watching her closely. Her eyes were downcast, still glazed with fear, and her fingers gripped his tshirt tightly as if letting go would pull her back into the nightmare.

Arjun : Okay, try to take some rest .

Nithya : n..n..no i don't w..want t..to s..sleep .

Arjun : Shhh..., it's just a dream . They are not real . You are safe here . Nothing will happen. I'm here .

Arjun slowly loosened her trembling arms from around him, guiding her gently back onto the bed. She looked terrified still, her eyes darting as if the nightmare lingered in the shadows. Without saying much, Arjun settled down on the other side of the bed, keeping a respectful distance but close enough for her to see him.

Nithya's eyes fluttered, heavy with sleep, yet she struggled to keep them open, stealing small, anxious glances at Arjun. He stayed quiet, his expression calm, offering her nothing but steady reassurance through his presence. After a few moments, her resistance gave way; her lashes lowered, and her trembling eased as sleep finally claimed her. Arjun didn't move, simply lying there in silence.

Few minutes later in her deep sleep, Nithya shifted, turning toward Arjun until her head found its place against his shoulder. Without realizing, she slipped an arm around him, holding on softly.

Arjun froze, his breath catching for a moment. Arjun glanced down at Nithya, her face calm and gentle in sleep. For a long moment he hesitated, his hand hovering in the air. Slowly, almost unsure, he wrapped his arm around her and drew her closer against his chest. His heart pounded, but as she nestled into his embrace, a quiet warmth spread through him.

Hours slipped by in silence, Arjun holding Nithya close, his embrace shielding her from the shadows of her nightmares. By the time morning light crept through the window, he was still there, steady and protective, as if guarding her peace.

Arjun stirred awake, his eyes falling on Nithya still curled in peaceful slumber. With a faint smile, he gently loosened his hold and slipped away, careful not to disturb her rest.

Arjun's gaze lingered on Nithya for a moment, making sure she was still resting peacefully. The memory of Atharva's call from last night tugged at him—the call he hadn't been able to answer He slowly, careful not to make a sound, and walked to the study. The quiet of the room wrapped around him as he reached for his phone on the desk. He unlocked it, found Atharva's name, and pressed call, waiting as the line began to ring.

Atharva: Sir , I tried to contact you last night but couldn't connect with you.

Arjun : I'm sorry there was a.... situation. Did you find anything.

Atharva : Sir , you told me to check whether Surya's alibi are correct or not .

Arjun : Yeah , what did you find .

Atharva : Sir, Surya has arrived Chennai two days before Naveen's death . Not only that he also met Naveen in his office a day before Naveen's murder . Surya has lied to us , Sir .
