Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: Unable to resist.

Nyxir felt his entire body plummet sharply whizzing down without pause, his heart skipped multiple beats and he felt like he was going to fall to his death or rather was falling into an endless abyss because he could not see anything except for the persistent darkness that shrouded the entire place.

"Gasps" he opened his eyes sharply and closed them instinctively before slowly opening them while using his hand to shield his face, trying to adjust to the light that was entering through his window.

"I am back here, and it's is morning" he looked out through the window at the azure blue sky brightened by the golden rays from the sun.

"I felt as reinvigorated like I was asleep all this time, but I clearly was wandering around in that place."

"Is it a dream? Am I lucid in my dream? "

" Is it my enlightment?"

" But I don't even receive any memory "

" Could it be due to the former Nyxir?"

Nyxir sat up from the bed with a load of question mark dancing on his head and stretched around a bit, he felt every inch of his body overflowing with strength and all sign of fatigue from the previous day has clearly vanished, he did not even feel a mental stress due to staying up all night in his dream.

" I wonder why Olivia did not come to wake me"

" If she had come would I have woken up? "

He stood up from the bed and walked towards the mirror hanging on the Wall directly atop the table and looked at his reflection.

" Nothing changes" he hissed in disappointment and walked back to sit on the bed.

There are some people who changes overnight after their awakening, this is a physical change for diviners especially those that excel in physical body brawl.

The only difference Nyxir felt this morning was that he felt somewhat stronger even though it was miniscule and negligible, he could feel small strength flowing through his body.

This is the difference between normal humans and diviners, even a barely passable aspect and rank is still stronger than mundane humans because by the tiniest gap, his body had exceeded normal humans body so he was still considered much stronger and enduring than how a normal humans should be albeit not by much.

"I should check my soul sea for any changes" Nyxir closed his eyes and passed the ethereal bridge diving into his soul sea.

He saw the twinkling specks of light shimering in and out of existence and as usual, the moment they sense his consciousness, they began dancing wildly twinkling more faster and faster onlybtjis time, the dark specks are also among them.

"I can easily see the black specks" Nyxir stared at the wildly dancing specks and paused, he had thought he would need to stare intently to see the black specks due to their nature of absorbting light to hide their presence but he could effortlessly see them like he had in his dream or technically dark world as he had unconsciously named it.

"Can I return to the dark world? There seems to be something I missed the previous time"

"Do I have to sleep to return"

he shook his head slightly and his mind went back to the incident that caused him wake up.

" I felt a slight pull downward when I was trying to concentrate to feel the space around me and I locked into that pull and stimulated a descent in the same direction"

" That is obviously my body as I wake up after descending "

" Will I be able to return if I do the same thing again? "

" Maybe not, there is a connection between me and my body that could have caused a pull and made me descend back into my body. Which in a way is an anchor "

" Does that mean it was my soul that entered the strange world? And my body was an anchor and a beacon for my soul and had pull me back when I locked onto it"

" Is there a connection between me and the dark world as well? Could I also enter by sensing it's pull?"

Nyxir sat in the same spot, his mind a mess with different thoughts.

"I will try entering later"

"I should get on with my morning chore or old Lu and Liv will think I'm sulking in my room"

He walked out of his room and inhaled the sweet smell of grass and flowers wafting in the cool morning air.

" It is almost as if it has just been cleared " he mumbled softly as he took in the strong smell of grasses then paused and looked around shocked.

" Cleared?!" He stared wide eyed at the wide expanse of land and his expression froze.

All the way to the tall tree afar off, the grass has been cleared and not just roughly but a smooth cut like it was meticulously trimmed leaving its stud sticking out in a uniform manner. Looking at it from afar it looked like a light green rug spread on the even ground. More importantly, there were no cut grass littering the floor.

"This is definitely Liv, a meticulous job done in this manner can only be achieved by Liv and the time it takes also require a non human ability."

" She must have gained some knowledge" Nyxir smiled softly.

" Her first thought was to help me with my chore, so thoughtful of her"

Nyxir walked back inside his room, picked up his towel and headed for the bathroom without bothering to fetch any water and as expected, there was already a bucket filled with warm clean water waiting for him.

After taking his bath, he went to the dorm used for dining, old Lu was already seated waiting more for Olivia to serve rather than Nyxir to join them.

"Good morning how are you feeling?" Old Lu questioned upon his entry which is strange considering he was just getting up from the bed.

"I feel strong and alive, much better than yesterday" Nyxir replied as he settled down opposite old Lu.

"Olivia is just finishing the cooking, she will join us soon" old Lu looked like he was assuring himself rather than Nyxir but all still the same as Nyxir's r was also feeling strangely famished.

Olivia entered shortly with a green book on her left hand, she was dressed in her favorite lilac ball gown laced with white trimmings and there was a smile plastered on her lips as she tried to walk as light as possible.

Nyxir stared at the elegant girl who seemed to have a problem walking and looked past her to see three trays floating behind her quietly as she walked towards the table.

"That must be one of your aspect ability right?" Nyxir smiled even more upon witnessing this scene and pointed at the floating trays.

"You really look like a fairy" he complimented and his gaze fell on the book she was holding.

The book has a thick green cover and is slightly larger than her hand but she seemed to have no difficulty holding it, also there seemed to be some kind of enrgy pulsing from the book beconing to him.

' what a strange book ' he shifted his gaze away from the book and back at Olivia.

"Thank you for your help, you could have left it alone you know maybe just the water"

"Oh don't mention and thanks for your compliment, old Lu said I looked like a turkey trying to take its first step whatever that is. I don't even know where he saw a turkey trying to take its first step."

Olivia walked towards the table and waved her right hand elegantly, the trays floating behind her manuvered around her and landed gently on the table without making even the slightest sound.

Olivia sat down beside Nyxir and gently waved her hand again causing the covers of the big plates to open sideways revealing a steam covered boiled rice and steaming red stew, the aroma quickly suffused the room alongside the steam and Nyxir unconsciously swallowed his saliva.

Then his expression slightly turn wierd imagining Olivia cooking with her powers before returning to reality.

Rice had been a rare food eaten in the house except on special occasions or in celebration of something huge because the money needed to buy a small quantity of rice for the family might blow a hole in the families' finances.

"It is celebratory mood after all" old Lu laughed as Olivia served the food.

Meanwhile, Nyxir's mind was on the green book as he felt the beacon from Olivia's book intensify as soon as she got near and as if to increase the problem, she placed it beside him which made him use all his will power to resist touching the book.

Angel's aspect specializes in spell casting, while some might just use their Spirituality to channel their power, others uses objects that comes from their aspect which are usually formed in their soul sea just like the sword by that young man during their assessment these objects are usually called chronicles because they store the magic powers of the user and they can come in different form like book, scroll, wand, and so forth.

As for the sword formed by the young man in the assessment this are called soul weapons and they are very much different from chronicles because they are just tools to aid in battle and not the essence of the weilder's power like chronicles. Although all are eventually termed soul weapon because it comes from your soul, the difference is in their essence.

Those who aquire chronicles tend to be more stronger and faster at casting spell because they already have their spell weaved down and strengthened just deploying it is all that remains while those without a chronicle might be less faster than chronicles weilder but as they grow stronger, they bridged the gap of speed but their attacks are still slightly weaker due to quality of equipment.

Nyxir shifted uncomfortably on his chair and eventually gave in and picked up Olivia's chronicles.

The moment his hand touched the chronicles his vision blurred and a splitting headache assaulted him. A mini explosion of Spirituality spread from the book outward causing wave like energy to ripple outward continuously.
