Chapter 13 - Misunderstanding

In contrast to Jet who was trapped in Zone 3 against his predictions, now Alexi, Elina, Ellie, Fey, Steven, and also Gerald appear to provide their experiences for those who have set foot in Zone 3.

The exceptions were Gerald and Alexi who had not set foot in Zone 3 at all. That reason also made the two of them good listeners trying to put together one piece of things that they thought actually had intersections with each other.

"Ah, aren't they actually testing us on our physical endurance as well as our minds?" said Alexi trying to express his opinion on the basis of all the talks said by all his colleagues.

Gerald, who had been silent, nodded his head to confirm the opinion that Alexi had just said.

"What do you think they are doing to us? And why are we trapped here?"

That was then asked back by Steven who was much more critical this time.

Alexi gave Steven a shrug of his shoulders, because after all he hadn't found the connecting thread of them being there.

After all, none of the memories of the memories they had before being in that world could be remembered.

"Have any of you ever tried to recall your memories before being here?"

Silence...

No one spoke up when Gerald asked such a sensitive question. Most of them were busy turning their faces in other directions, as if they were afraid to say it.

Alexi frowned. He felt that there was something that his colleagues were covering up.

Could there be a domino effect if they forced to recall the memories they had before being there with their blank memories?

Alexi gulped his saliva roughly. There was fear but it was tempered with a curiosity that was far greater than the fear itself.

Should he try to dig it up himself, by asking his colleagues one by one?

For a moment the silence that occurred in the tree house left an awkward look that represented each of them.

Gerald, who felt that he would not get an answer, finally let out a long sigh.

"Like we should just continue our analysis," said Alexi who spoke up this time.

Simultaneously the survivors who were there nodded their heads simultaneously.

Inevitably they chose to skip Gerald's question and continue to give an opinion that might help them in solving Zone 3, which some of them said was a difficult zone.

If it wasn't difficult there was no way they would be in this transition zone, right?

That is more or less what is embedded in the minds of each individual who is there.

"What are the advantages of being in this transition zone?"

"Many," said Ellie who spoke up this time.

Alexi looked at Ellie as if asking the girl for an explanation. Really he understood a little about the rules when in the transition Zone it was much easier than when he was in the real Zone that he had to pass but wasn't the Zone the main game they had to complete?

Ellie carefully explained to Alexi that her current place could be analogized to a blind spot that was invisible from 'them' or maybe they could deliberately provide breathing space for every survivor who participated in the game in this 'Universe'.

"And the Top Tier here is that we will not die in this Zone. Loss of Life is not possible here. So we can maximize all the additional missions in this transition Zone," said Fey who had been silent.

"Have you ever confirmed it?" asked Alexi doubtfully.

After all, so far Alexi was the new person there.

A reassuring nod of the head was given by Fey to Alexi. "If not, how could she keep so many weapons," Fey continued half-insinuating Steven.

Steven who felt insinuated just twisted his eyes lazily.

Oh come on couldn't Fey just be normal to him? Does she still hold a grudge or something against him?

Maybe!

But Fey chose to turn her head as if she wasn't going to talk to Steven.

"Never mind, why are you guys still like this anyway," Ellie annoyedly looked at Fey and Steven.

"I think the Zones that they set up will be different from each other, and they must have made something that follows the natural conditions along with different structures following the entire country on earth."

"You think so too?"

This time Elina nodded her head after expressing her opinion that the first zone was more identical to the desert, which might be without them realizing that the zone symbolized the desert that crossed several large countries. The second Zone was identical to the tall trees that stretched across the Zone most likely taking the Zone following the Tropical Forest or Amazon Forest that they made as the idea of the Zone.

Simultaneously the survivors around Elina nodded their heads in agreement with Elina's own words.

Then what about Zone 3?

Zone three itself depicts the ocean, where most of the missions are in the middle of the sea, so it is not easy for the survivors to complete the missions given in the Zone.

"Who will last the longest in Zone 3?" chirped Gerald who opened his voice this time.

No one immediately revealed it to Gerald, but this time Ellie seemed to turn her head towards Fey and Steven.

Didn't the three of them seem to have their own story between them?

"Maybe I do," said Steven who finally opened his voice.

"One day, over 5 minutes, didn't last long when Ellie and Fey failed the mission."

Spontaneously, both of them looked at Steven.

Ellie and Fey thought Steven would last longer than that, but why did he fail shortly after Fey and Ellie failed?

That was now a big question mark for Fey who had just realized what she had missed.

"Didn't you do it on purpose at that time so that you could survive there?" asked Fey who couldn't hold back her curiosity.

"I realized at that time that we would fail, that's why I let you guys separate from me and make your own decisions, it was better than me getting hurt."

"You're-you're hurt?"

Only a faint smile was given by Steven in the end to Ellie and Fey who were staring at him.

"There seems to have been a misunderstanding between you guys, better settle it first," Alexi said finally giving space to the three followed by Elina, and Gerald who moved from their meeting place.

'Exactly how many Zones do we have to go through?'
