Chapter 131 - #131

On the eve of Halloween, excitement buzzed through the castle.

There were only so many chances in a year for a full-blown celebration—and Halloween was one of the best.

The morning classes went by without much fuss, but by the afternoon, the restless energy in the classrooms was impossible to ignore.

Thankfully, the professors understood. After all, they'd seen plenty of generations come and go—each one rowdier than the last.

So instead of formal lessons, most of the afternoon classes turned into casual chats or story-sharing sessions.

Even Professor Flitwick joined in, asking the students to raise their hands and tell a story.

Ted, always confident in front of his Head of House, didn't hesitate. He raised his hand right away, and Professor Flitwick, smiling knowingly, called on him without a second thought.

Ted paused for a moment, trying to decide what kind of story to tell. But in the end, he opted for something more fitting for the audience.

He told a tale about a powerful witch and seven brave magical children.

In Ted's version, two wicked dark wizards—reminiscent of old-school Death Eaters—were terrorizing the land.

An elderly wizard, who had unearthed a magical orb once left behind by Merlin himself, planted it in enchanted soil.

From it, seven magical children were born, each gifted with unique powers.

The story went down surprisingly well.

After class, students were still talking about it. Some asked, "Is the flame child a master of the Fire-making charm?" or "Was the illusion baby born knowing the Confounding spell?"

Even Hermione got caught up in the discussion, seriously asking Ted if Merlin's orb had ever been documented in the Restricted Section.

Ted replied with a grin, "Orb? Never heard of it! The beanstalks? Doubt they grow kids—but there's another kind of seed that might!"

Life at Hogwarts could feel a little repetitive sometimes.

Magic was amazing, sure, but it was often a solitary endeavor.

Ted couldn't exactly drag his friends along for every experiment or lesson.

And truthfully, they wouldn't want to go, anyway.

So during their free time, Ted found other ways to keep things interesting.

Wizard Chess and Gobstones got old fast.

That's when Ted brought out his masterpiece: a full magical version of Monopoly.

He crafted magical dice, animated chess pieces, and a self-updating board. There was even background music!

The game was a hit. Even Hermione nearly got obsessed with it.

Besides Ted and Hermione, the rest of the crew—Harley, Neville, Ron, and Dean—became totally hooked.

They squeezed in games between classes, during breaks, even late into the evening.

At times, a crowd of fifteen or twenty students would gather just to watch a four-player match.

The Weasley twins were so impressed, they suggested going into business with Ted to mass-produce Magical Monopoly and make a fortune.

Ted, however, began to worry.

His friends were so caught up in the game that they were forgetting their studies and skipping their usual magical training.

He couldn't let that happen.

He needed a distraction—and fast.

So, he started storytelling.

But not just any stories.

Ted adapted epic tales from various magical worlds: The Wizard Naruto, Full-metal Wizard, Clover Wizard King, Demon Slayer Wizard, and JOJO's Magical Adventure.

Every story was told in parts, and he always stopped right before the good bits.

His friends went wild with anticipation, begging for the next chapters.

That's when Ted made a deal: they had to attend class, do their homework, and stay on top of their magical studies.

Only then would he tell them more.

It worked.

Within days, their obsession with Monopoly faded—and their obsession with Ted's stories took over.

Now, they just wanted to strangle him for all the cliffhangers!

...

Finally, the Halloween party arrived.

The Great Hall was decorated in true festive style—floating candles, enchanted cobwebs, glowing pumpkins, and a few bewitched bats swooping around the ceiling.

After last year's "holding your murder prank" courtesy of Ted, everyone had learned their lesson.

This year, nearly every student showed up in costume.

Some painted their faces ghost-white, with exaggerated red lips and fake fangs to look like vampires.

Others stuck oversized witch noses on their faces—some over ten centimeters long.

There were green-faced zombies, classic ghosts in white sheets with eye holes, and more than a few creative combinations.

As the saying goes: put on a mask, take off your mask. Everyone was ready to let loose and have a good time~

At this moment, Ron and Jerry were crouched just outside the doors of the Great Hall, peeking in with wide eyes. Inside, it was utter chaos—in the best way possible. It was like a zoo of magical creatures had been set loose.

"Hurry up, Ron! You're so slow changing clothes—we're already late!" Jerry hissed, tugging at his sleeve.

Seeing Ron hesitate, Jerry nudged him again. "Relax, Ron. We look amazing. Trust me—everyone's going to love it."

Ron glanced down at his costume, then over at Jerry's. His whole face twisted with doubt. "Are you sure about this?"

Jerry grinned and clapped him hard on the back. "Absolutely! We're going to steal the show."

Ron hadn't been feeling too enthusiastic lately, but Jerry had made it his mission to cheer him up. So, dragging Ron by the arm, the two finally stepped into the Great Hall.

Students near the entrance turned immediately, curious to see what new monstrosity would walk through next.

By this point, the standards were high—someone had already come dressed as a troll, another as a werewolf, and several as glittery vampires.

But when Jerry and Ron walked in, they left everyone completely speechless.

What... even was this?

Ron was dressed as a giant turkey leg, his face awkwardly visible from the top.

Jerry had gone as a giant wedge of Swiss cheese, his head and limbs poking out through the holes.

Were they here for Halloween or the Great Hogwarts Food Festival?

Ron's face turned bright red. If he could have melted into the floor, he would've.

Thankfully, the attention didn't last long.

Because just then—

The Weasley twins arrived.

Fred and George had climbed up onto one of the long tables, striking dramatic poses.

One wore a sleek black cloak lined with chains and a wide-brimmed hat, while the other wore a shimmering gold-and-green outfit with a glowing emerald charm stuck to his forehead.

The crowd gasped.

Then they posed again—back to back, fingers outstretched in that now-iconic Jojo stance.

They were diehard fans of Jojo's Magical Adventure, and after some convincing from Ted, had decided to pay tribute this Halloween.

Twins in unison: "If you've got something magical, you have to share it!"

They'd recently learned the spell for summoning Unseen Servants from Ted and were hard at work developing their own magical avatars—Stand, just like in the anime.

Fred (dramatically): "Jojo... human potential has limits. But I want to become more than human. I want to ascend!"

George (striking a new pose): "A true gentleman accepts any challenge—even the ones he knows he'll lose."

Fred: "Do you even remember how many Chocolate Frogs you've eaten?"

George: "My heart and actions are pure as a crystal ball. Everything I do is for the greater good!"

Then, in perfect sync, they tapped fingers like Goku and Vegeta in a fusion pose: "Weasley gentlemen—through and through!"

Ron fainted. Literally.

Not even the time Mum sent him a Howler was this humiliating.

"You're dragging the whole family name down with you!" he managed to mumble before collapsing.

On the other side of the hall, Ginny—wearing a pink hairdryer mask—watched in horror.

She sank lower into her seat, silently praying no one would realize she was related to the chaos on the table.

The other students were stunned.

What was that performance? Why was it so absurd... and yet so amazing?

"I kind of want to try that pose," someone whispered.

Just then, a ghost floated through the Great Hall's front doors.

Most people didn't even notice at first, but Jerry's sharp eyes picked it out.

"TED?!" he shouted, drawing everyone's attention.

Sure enough, Ted Epifani—beloved, brilliant, annoyingly talented Ted—was gliding into the hall like a spirit from beyond.

Jerry wailed dramatically: "TED?! WHEN DID YOU DIE?!"

(Those who heard it teared up. Those who saw it nearly cried.)

Ted laughed and waved. "Calm down! I'm not actually dead."

He twirled in place. "Well? Is this ghost costume convincing or what?"

Jerry sniffled and reached out to touch him.

Despite the spectral glow, Ted was solid. Floaty, but definitely real.

He was wearing the [Ghost Cloak (Green)]—a reward from last year's Halloween event. Not much use in battle, but as a party trick? A+.

Hermione pushed through the crowd. "You scared me half to death!"

She hadn't expected that kind of entrance. Even she looked impressed.

She herself was wearing a floppy wizard hat adorned with two fluffy white rabbit ears. Even had a pair of bunny dentures.

Ted gave the ears a playful poke. "Adorable. Almost as cute as cat ears."

Hermione blushed and looked away.

Ted floated forward, waved his wand, and transfigured a nearby chair into a glowing stage.

Only then did people notice the guitar slung across his back—ethereal, shimmery white, almost blending in.

The moment had built up. It was time.

Ted activated his card:

--------------------------

[Celebrity (Green)]Spell CardEffect: +2 Charisma for 30 minutesCooldown: 12 hours

--------------------------

He grinned. "Alright, everyone—Happy Halloween! This one's called This Is Halloween! Hit it!"

He flicked his wand again, and magical music filled the hall. Ted strummed the guitar and began to sing:

"Boys and girls of every age

Wouldn't you like to see something strange?

Come with us and you will see

This, our town of Halloween

This is Halloween, this is Halloween

Pumpkins scream in the dead of night

This is Halloween, everybody make a scene

Trick or treat 'til the neighbors gonna die of fright

It's our town, everybody scream

In this town of Halloween"
