Bretum stepped into the dining hall, his eyes landing on Walter, who sat with his fists clenched tightly on the table. His knuckles had turned white, the anger practically radiating off of him.
"Lord Walter... is something troubling you?" Bretum asked gently, taking a cautious step forward.
But before Walter could even look up, the butler placed a firm hand on Bretum's shoulder and gave a silent shake of the head, signaling him not to ask any further.
Bretum nodded and stepped back, concern flickering in his eyes. Lord Walter... he's changing, he thought silently. He's only ten... but there's something heavy in his heart now.
Suddenly, Walter stood up, pushing the chair back so violently it toppled over with a loud crash that echoed through the hall. Both the butler and Bretum flinched at the sound, their eyes following Walter as he stormed off toward his room without saying a word. The door slammed shut behind him.
The two servants stood outside his room, unsure.
