Chapter 2 - Widow's Bite

[AN: So, my p.atreon is still under review. Until then, I will continue updating here.]

Earth 199999

Year, 2012

Month, May

Captain America Exhibit

(AN: I always thought it was a museum, but Google says otherwise)

Various images, information, and some life-like figures about Steve Rogers were the very first things Andrew expected to see upon arrival.

However, looking at Steve Rogers himself wearing a cap for disguise and watching his own story through the very things he just listed?

Wasn't on that list.

Andrew could only shake his head in disbelief. He was wondering if this was a plot or if he was just lucky to be able to see 2 members of the future Avengers on the same day.

'Who's next? Hawk-eye?' he thought to himself.

"Both of you stay a distance from me, I want to talk to that man." The guards acknowledged the command and nodded.

.

.

.

Steve recently woke up from a very 'long' sleep.

The last thing he remembers is his promised dance with Peggy Carter, a strong, beautiful, and unique woman whom Steve fell in love with long before he took the super soldier serum.

After that?

The ship he took control of sank to the cold water before everything turned dark.

The first thing he saw next was the unfamiliar face of a nurse. He found himself inside a hospital of some sort, but something was off.

He can't put it into words, but his gut was screaming at him that something was wrong. It wasn't until a radio suddenly turned and broadcast something familiar.

Not just familiar, but he recognized it since he was there when it aired.

He fought his way out with the surprise that the room he came out of was fake. He rushed out of the establishment, easily bypassing security details.

Once he was outside, however, things no longer looked familiar to him.

He was in a different time now, like 70 years into the future since the war ended. This was according to the one-eyed black man who was apparently the director of the once SSR, now SHIELD.

While looking at the life-like figures of his former team and himself, a man, probably in his late 20s, came forward beside him.

"So, how does it feel to wake up and realize you are now 70 years into the future?" He asked which surprised Steve, his guard already up before the man could finish his sentence.

Yet he doesn't feel any threat coming from the man at all. In fact, the man was so relaxed his hands were inside his pockets. Clearly not hostile towards him. And from experience alone he could tell that the man was just a civilian with no experience at all.

Curious, he asked.

"Who are you?"

"I kinda asked first but why not? The name is Andrew Anderson." The man shrugged as if it wasn't a bother and introduced himself while reaching out for a hand shake.

Steve shook the Andrew's hand.

"Steve Rogers, but you already know that right?" Andrew nodded and smiled at him.

"I feel left out and out of place. Everything around me is no longer familiar. But I'm trying to have myself get used to it."

"Good luck with that, Cap'n."

"How did you know it was me?"

"It's not exactly effective using a Cap to hide Cap." Andrew threw but was met with a confused Cap.

"You clearly need a lot of catching up to do if you didn't understood that."

"70 years isn't exactly a short amount of gap, so I apologize for any misunderstanding."

"Haha, it's okay Steve. No one's rushing you. Take your time." Andrew laughed then thought of something.

"Would you consider an advice from me?" Andrew offered out of the blue.

Steve considered it for a moment and decided to give it a try. His reason? The man beside him didn't seem to be hostile nor does he feel suspiciously up to something bad.

"Go ahead."

Upon hearing his answer Andrew was a bit surprised. He actually expected him to reject him outright since he popped up out of nowhere.

He considered what's to happen next based on the timeline then the prophecies from PJO suddenly came to mind. Andrew smiled for a moment and spoke.

"When the legacy of frost subdues the Hawk,

the heir to the throne descends for justice,

when the angry child is unleashed,

the son of Coul rests,

the sky opens,

and the war will begin,

Yet all of this is just the start of something bigger."

Andrew recited dramatically while looking at the stories and images of the war hero and looked at him clearly concerned with everything he said.

"See you around, good man." He pats Steve's shoulders and walked away while putting on the sunglasses from the inventory, leaving a confused and alarmed Steve.

"Wait, what do you mean the war will start? And that it's just the start of something bigger?" Steve asked, but a flash of light stopped him in his tracks.

Andrew turned, already wearing Agent J's Ray-Ban Sunglasses while holding the Neuralyzer that flashed earlier.

"We never talked or met, you will remember my advice tomorrow but not the one who said it." Steven nodded absentmindedly after Andrew said that then he left with his guards.

Andrew decided to go back home after the very surprising encounters he had just for today.

Unbeknownst to him, someone else was listening to him talk and was already tracking him since that someone was in another location and was simply listening.

Who knew she would be hearing something very concerning?

[Encountered Steve Rogers AKA Captain America!

Interaction Rating: 10/10; The council of Chunnibyo approves!

An extra reward was added!]

[Rewards:

Set of James Lake Jr:

Amulet of Daylight, Bicycle, Shoulder Bag

Extra reward:

Template of James Lake Jr. - The first human Trollhunter who didn't think but became.]

[Details:

AmuletofDaylight - is a magical amulet created by Merlin, which acted as both the source of power and a symbol of office for the Trollhunter, capable of summoning the Daylight Armor and the Sword of Daylight, Shield, and Glaives.

Daylight Armor- is a silver suit of knight's armor consisting of a chestplate, two shoulder pads (one bigger than the other), a pair of leggings, knee braces, boots, clamps, had blue glowing trimmings around in it, a black inner layer underneath the armor, a silver helmet with two back-facing horns and the Amulet of Daylight was connected on the left side of the chestplate. The armor is purely made of sunlight/daylight.

Abilities while donning the Armor:

Enhanced Durability: Like the Sword of Daylight, the armors were made of pure sunlight, providing additional protection against the dark creatures, curses, dark spells and even modern weapons.

Enhanced Strength: The armor also provided the wearer enhanced strength.

Enhanced Speed: The armor can greatly enhance the speed and agility of the wearer.

Limited Force Field: The armor also produced a brief force field around the wearer to protect them from magical and energy based attacks.

Sword of Daylight - a steel-grey broad-bladed sword with a tint of blue on it. The sword is made purely of sunlight. The two edges didn't meet at a tip. Instead, it is slanted at the top and only the opposite edge forms the tip. The flat ends of the blade were engraved. The sword can be summoned back into its master's possession if separated.

The shield and glaive are part of the Trollhunter armor and is therefore made from the same material and have the same composition as the sword of daylight with the main function obviously different. Shield for defense while the glaives were two magnetic, boomerang like knives. Both can also be summoned back by the wearer of the armor.

Chants:

"For the glory of Merlin, Daylight is mine to command."

Bicycle – a normal bicycle ridden by a student named Jim.

Shoulder bag - Jim's shoulder bag when he was still in school.

Template of James Lake Jr - It is self-explanatory but does not include personality or any other personal elements but only the knowledge, worthiness of the amulets and experience the character has accumulated throughout his life as the Trollhunter. (It is currently in the form of a card inside your inventory.]

Looking at the rewards he received today, Andrew could only shake his head while lying in bed.

"I just want a wife; I don't want to be a Hero or any of that troublesome stuff. So why give these things? Should I give them away?" Andrew spoke out loud not knowing someone was already listening to him not far away from his Villa.

Natasha has been following him ever since his casual question to Steve. What prompted her even more was his 'advice' that sounded more like a prophecy about a war, a war that will start when the sky opens which spelled even a lot more trouble.

But it doesn't end there. Natasha wasn't there to witness how he easily told Steve to forget their interaction. What surprised her was how he'd done it with the captain easily agreeing to it.

The man clearly doesn't have any training, and based on the information she got from a bit of investigation, he's actually a from a rich family whose parents left him last year. This even prompted him to party every night, probably to deal with the pain.

Natasha wondered what Fury would do when she made her report. Although, technically, she's still on vacation.

Confident that the target can easily be subdued, she infiltrated his room.

The security details on him were lacking upon her entry as she easily found him sitting on his bed. She was confused because it looked like he was meditating?

A broken guy who parties all night is meditating?

.

.

.

A few moments earlier.

After contemplating if he should give Steve the amulet, Andrew was curious of what he currently has so he checked his inventory.

As much as he hated Sakura, just the thought of climbing walls using chakra enticed him even if he might not be able to perform the basic three ninjutsu.

So, before Natasha could infiltrate his room, he took out the card with the Civilian chakra and activated it. Then the system gave him a promt.

[Are you sure you want to integrate Civilian Chakra level?]

[Y/N]

"Yes."

[Processing . . .]

[Completed!]

Andrew didn't feel anything new or weird, so he tried sitting up and started meditating like every other MC character he read in various Naruto fanfictions.

It didn't take long before he felt something on his forehead. Something cold.

'wasn't it supposed to be in my stomach?' he wondered.

Confused, he opened his eyes.

He was greeted by the same face he had met earlier in the Café. Only this time, the woman was holding a gun pointed at him.

Slowly raising both hands. He asked.

"Uhm, I surrender?"

"I will ask you a question. And you will only tell me the truth, or else, I think you know what'll happen, right?"

Andrew nodded as calmly as he could but.

'Why is she here?'

"What did you do to the captain?"

'Shit. So, they were listening. Why didn't I think of that?' But he didn't know it was only Natasha who knew, since Steve's surveillance from SHIELD wasn't that tight. Some monitored him, but they weren't allowed to listen to his conversations with anyone.

"I uh- politely asked him to forget about me?" Although Natasha was listening to the conversation, she wasn't monitoring them. That's why she never saw Andrew flash his Neuralyzer at Steve.

What she heard was exactly what Andrew is telling him now. But she feels like there's something more to it. Why did the captain easily agree to his request? It was like the captain was brainwashed or manipulated or something.

"What did you do to make the captain agree easily? Are you a psychic? Did you use some kind of hypnosis?"

"I simply asked politely. No, I'm not a psychic, and no, I didn't use any hypnosis. If I could do any of that, why do you think you're still pointing a gun at me?"

"Then about that advice? What do you mean there's a war coming? Explain it all to me."

"If I answer all of that, will you let me go? Also, can I sit properly now? My legs are cramping."

"You don't get to negotiate. Just answer the question." Natasha is feeling strange, the man before him is now way too calm. It's like he knew she was not going to kill him.

Lowering the handgun towards his crotch seemed to make him remember his place. His agitated and nervous expression is way too obvious.

"Are you sure you don't want to answer?"

'Fuck!!! Why is this happening to me on the very first day? I know, let's pretend a divination.' Andrew, unsure and inexperienced, could only think this way.

"I simply gave the guy a divination. It was up to him how he's going to interpret or if he's even going to believe what I said."

"Nice try. I know exactly where you go every night. Even last night. Maybe I should-"

Natasha was unable to finish her sentence as the door to Andrew's room opened and Joseph walked in on them.

"Master, I-"

The old man barely had a moment to say something as Natasha immediately put him to sleep without any resistance.

However, as she pointed her gun back at Andrew, he was already wearing sunglasses and holding some kind of cylindrical equipment. Her instinct screamed at her, and she dived towards the door where Joseph entered.

She was too fast that when Andrew flashed the Neuralyzer she was already outside, unaffected.

"Oh no you don't! Come back here!" Andrew shouted.

Natasha was tempted to; the guy was just an ordinary civilian. But the device in his hand felt dangerous. She needs to take it away from him.

Andrew returned the sunglasses and Neuralyzer to his inventory. He then took out the Amulet and template card. He didn't chase her in fear of being ambushed since he's still new to this whole thing, with no choices left he used the card.

'Integrate!'

All of Jim's experience as a Trollhunter immediately poured into his mind as if it was him all along. (Minus the experience of kissing Claire)

Raising the amulet above him, he chanted.

"For the glory of Merlin, Daylight is mine to command."

Andrew floated in the air as pieces of armor gathered before him. One by one, they fitted to his body, from the chest, back, arms, legs, and head.

Just then, Natasha sneaked a peek upon noticing light coming from inside and was surprised to see everything that had happened. If before he was a civilian whom she could easily neutralize, now? he's none of that anymore. She didn't have to think hard and immediately bolted out of the villa to the nearest window.

Andrew came back down fully geared up in Daylight Armor. He summoned daylight to his right hand and immediately gave chase as he was able to sense Natasha running away. Something which was impossible for him if he didn't use the template card.

He was just in time to see his guards unconscious on the ground while the last one was also knocked unconscious just as he arrived.

Seeing him, Natasha pointed her gun and fired to distract.

Andrew easily utilized the sword's size to defend himself.

After shooting, Natasha leaped out of the building through the window and fired a line to easily land on the ground. As soon as she did, she saw an armored individual jump from the window she came out of and fall towards the ground without any line, but still landed safely.

His landing made a small quake, which she felt clearly.

Feeling a disadvantaged fight coming up, Natasha fired widow's bites to incapacitate the target with electricity. Andrew simply summoned a shield to defend himself. Although the bites cling to his shield, the electricity was countered by the force field surrounding the armor.

But once he looked at the location where Natasha was after she fired, she was no longer there.

He heard the sound of a motorbike starting, and he immediately rushed to where it was.

But the bike was already getting far away when he arrived.

"Damn it!"

Andrew could only shout in complaint to no one but himself.

Ding!

The familiar sound notification of the System took his attention.
