It's been five months since I finally figured out how to use chantless magic freely, and since that day, my life almost feels repeated every day like this.
I wake up in the morning sometimes I got carried to the kitchen or I go there myself. Who carries me mostly either Mom or Lilia, whom both are always who feed me after that.
Then Lilia starts to clean me up and changing my clothes. If the room is warm, she will wash me with a warm, wet towel. (This world is not very civilized on this matter also).
After that one of three scenarios awaits me.
If Mom is free she talk with me a little or plays with me but most of the time she talks about Millis religion and it's greatness.
All of that and she repeats the part about 'Marry thou you love.' Over and over again, in another words marry only one woman who the love is mutual between the two of you.
(What happened is Mom heard the part "Well, Rudi, now we finished about that, I would love to see you with a girlfriend or two soo..." of what Dad said).
So she is afraid her son will be womanizer like his Father's suggestion. And not understanding the joke, she decided to to root the monogamous relationship and marriage to me.
(Should I tell her I'm already married a monogamous marriage with Emma? Haaah.. the one who was married is Issac not you, Rudeus, maybe you should.... What am I thinking I'm still 17 year early to worry about that).
The second scenario, If Dad is free, he talks to me about the greatness of the sword and his adventures, but for some reason, sometimes I feel he's hinting at something in the middle of his words that adults do, especially when he is talking about Elinalisa or Ghislaine, and he only talks about these parts if Mom isn't near.
If neither is free, Lilla makes me choose one of the four books they've allowed me to read – and whichever I pick, she reads it to me. The first book is 'The Legend of Perigruies' he is one of the heroes who sealed Satan of this world. (Laplace) with the cost of losing four of his comrades in the fight against him.
And this book tells his story of fighting the demon, describing it in one sentence: a fairy tale story for strong individuals and their heroic sacrifice to save humanity from the evil demons of this world. (And if this story isn't completely fiction then this man Perigruies is amazing. Also his friends are all amazing especially this two: Kalman and Urupen.)
The next book is 'The Three Swordsmen and the Labyrinth'. It talks about swordsmen, their styles and finally labyrinths.
I discovered through it the style Dad calls: "The rat style" is 'The North God Style'. Which the creator of the style is one of the two surviving comrade of Perigruies. (Kalman, the same guy I respect).
This world have many schools of swordsmanship but the most famous are three. (Sword God Style, Water God Style and North God Style).
The first one is Dad's favorite style the 'Sword God Style' which known with very strong offense and weak defense, as its logic.
And from the very low information I got about the style, I can say the people who favor this style are musclehead people. (With the utmost respect to my father).
The style philosophy quite literally says: "Attack now, think later." (No comment.) I hope Dad doesn't fight with this style against an unbeatable opponent who need brain not brawn to fight.
The second style is the 'Water God Style' and from my way in life, I think I will be a great user of that style. The style known logic is, defend first then counterattack afterwards. It depends entirely on people's fast thinking and precise reactions. (Simply it needs a calm mind and great reactions, with those you can be a great swordsman in that style, and for me both are high level because I lived for a long enough as a surgeon and military medic to lose my cool for something trivial as taunting me).
Also it's the perfect counter for the Sword God Style, and it's a rare feat if two swordsmen - one from Sword God Style and the other from Water God Style fights, and the winner be the Sword God Style user. When both are on the same level of power.
(Also for some reason, Lilla looks at this style's poses illustration, with melancholy. Was she some kind of swordswoman?)
Lastly, the North God Style, also known as ruffians style or the rat style according to Dad, the style isn't orthodox by any means; this style depends on creating tactics and adapting to circumstances in middle of fighting. (Like my past life - isn't that a good thing? Then why is the style hated?)
Also some people who aren't using the sword, but using the style still get the title, but it's a rare thing. (They aren't called swordsman but the called North God Style warrior with their level).
Finally there is something called 'fighting spirit' and in this world using it, the swordsmen get stronger, sturdier, and faster. Which makes high level swordsmen almost unbeatable. (This explains how Dad broke almost all the physics rules that day).
Oh I forgot to say:
Also this style is the counter to Water God Style, but very weak against Sword God Style. Is it some kind of loop? Like rock, paper, and scissors game?
As for labyrinths
This book covers labyrinths: how they form, what to expect inside, and how to boost your survival chances. It emphasizes the most crucial preparations for any labyrinth, and explains how to reach the boss room and the best way to clear a labyrinth. Also in some cases, the boss room is called the 'Arena Battlefield,' where entry means no escape until the boss is slain.
The book also details potential treasures, what to realistically expect, and what not to hope for.
For example, in early rooms may contain a magical monster called a Mimic, which disguises itself as a chest, the book advises: in the first floors the best thing to do is breaking chests from a distance to avoid danger. (That's what you should pray to never encounter early on, because the monsters isn't the kind to be killed easily).
As for what to hope to meet is something called curious monster. Simply explaining it is a mutated version of the normal labyrinth monsters but since it mutated it no longer abide by the labyrinth rule so you can meet it on the upper floors. Some call it newbie killer some call it easy money. Because they are weaker than labyrinth boss but have a strong magic stone some times have of the labyrinth's core's power,
Also it talks in detail about the three swordsmen adventure in the unbeatable labyrinths they cleared by themselves and enjoyed the treasures inside.
However, the book doesn't focus heavily on labyrinths. Instead, it prioritizes swordsmanship, featuring advanced-level poses and illustrations. As it focus more in recounting the original Sword Gods' expedition through an "unbeatable" labyrinth before concluding with limited labyrinth insights. This book describes sword styles and labyrinth details. Also, it's the only book Dad reads to me.
(But the book leave many unanswered questions both about Lilia, and labyrinths Dad on his story telling alone told me four times the information).
Describing this book in one sentence: the famous swordsmen trip in the unbeatable labyrinth explaining Sword styles and some Labyrinths Details.
Ignoring the many unanswered questions that book left me with, the next one is 'Fittioa Region Monsters: Ecosystem and Their Weaknesses'. And one of monsters in the book even explains the scar on Father's chest. Apparently there are normal animals like in my past world, (though they are called beasts), but with the mana infection they transform into monsters. This region has two kinds of monsters commonly found: 'Hunting/Assault dogs' which are oversized wolves that can stand up and fight in packs that can reach number of thirty if unattended. The next one is 'Terminator boar' which usually will be the leader of either former monster or normal boars. It's very strong compared to the former, reaching the rank of C-rank monsters; it rarely fights in groups, only if a really strong terminator boar appears and controls a pack of them. (Also there are almost thousand kind of monsters and beasts and the region but they are rare to appear in the region which made it known for being safe because they appears once a decade or something).
Both of the commonly appearing monsters have very strong limbs and strong fangs - avoidable at all costs, (very important to note.) Their guts and necks are their weak points. (There are drawing for where to aim as a mage and as a swordsman too).
Sometimes on rare occasions, something called 'Mutated Monster' appears and it has something called 'Mana Stone' inside the monster, it can be found next to the heart. (It grow stronger than it is peers almost to 100 times stronger, but usually it's intelligence doesn't improve much after mutation).
Back to the mana stone, it is apparently used as mana a fast rechargeable way for magicians, but they need detoxify magic after swallowing it, and for beginners they must expect to vomit, and if they very weak people are expected to vomit blood. And strongest C-rank monster mana stone can recharge up to three advanced spells. And weakest in C-rank is one advanced spell at least.
(Also the book warns using them as fast mana recharger without using detoxify magic is like committing suicide. And strictly advices to never swallow more than one and two is maximum in emergencies only in life or death situations you are allowed to swallow three because more than that it is like making your body explode from the inside).
Also mana stones are said to have almost all uses in everything, but never explained in detail in this book. Last good information in the book is that all monsters' meats are edible, but the 'Terminator Boar' ones is very tasty. (Also the book said that the rare 'Horror Boar' is the tastiest pork piece you will eat just second to beef meat).
Also the last words works with all monsters meat, except for the goblin meat which needs detoxify magic to remove its poisonous nature. Just to eat unbearable harmful substances called goblin meat that after comparing it with monsters poop, the poop is more healthier and taster.
(Needless to say I vomited after reading this part, who is the idiot who will eat monsters poop and yet, the goblin meat is more worse, that's the most useless information I known in my both lives.)
The next book is 'Traveling Around the World'. By the adventurer "Bloody Kant" This book has too many illustrations, and on some of its late pages even has the maps and drawings like photos of this world, and apparently this world is flat. Almost 20% of my past world would be celebrating if they were in my place now. (Okay let's focus in important stuff).
In this world there are five continents, and one gigantic sea in the middle called the 'Ringus Sea'. There are small islands and small seas but they are not mentioned with details in the book, they are just drawn in the world map.
As for the important stuff: in this world there are six used languages which are known as:
- Human Tongue. (The language I learnt and the used by most of humans and all the races that lives in human territories.)
- Beast God Tongue. (This language used in north half of Millis Continent and its have over 2 million users most of them goes to the beast race, human, hobbits, dwarves, halflings, and finally elves.)
- Fighting God Tongue. (Used by humans lives in Berrigriet continent in South West of this world, the author of the book said its very easy for human tongue natives to learn it. In the first possible chance. I will try to learn the language.)
- Demon God Tongue. (It's used by demons in the demon continent, but the author of the book advises to search for someone to teach you the language because it's the hardest language he learnt.)
- Sea God Tongue. (Used by sea people or seafolk race that lives in the seas and the only other users to it is: some of the sailors who are fated to meet the sea people know it because of their work field, and finally some of the sea race visits the town of Kurasuma in the northwest of the demon continent.)
- Sky God Tongue. (Used by more isolated race than the sea race, this race never leaves their continent in celestial continent, also author of the book had put more warnings with this race more the than the former saying that if the sea people may listen and accept excuses and apologies for intruders but the sky race is different anyone who isn't friends with Perigruies is instantly killed by them.)
Excuse the 'God Tongue' said with every language - like the swordsmen book also means people love the name God in their names in this world. The strongest person from every race, or fighting style is usually called God, with his style or race. Like "Laplace the Demon God" of this world. Or like "Carl Rybak (AKA. Kalman) the North God, the strongest person in North God Style." Who also had the word God in his name, (and apparently he is either immortal or this name is inherited between very strong individuals. Because his name appears in many different periods of time including before the date too).
But before forgetting, there are rare languages like the Migurdian race who uses telepathic language on the Demon Continent, or hand language in the Central Continent, or the most rare one is the Dragon God Tongue which went extinct with the race, but some of their ruins can still be found and their language is sculpted there. (It's like Egyptian hieroglyphics about pharaohs.)
Also there are many races in this world but their order from the numbers are:
(Here is more detailed in explanation not like the languages part.)
1. Human race. (Which I'm from and they are about more than 40 million in number.)
2. Beast people or Beast-kin, mix between humans and animals. To be more specific humans with animal heads or/and tails. (Depending on the race and how pure their bloodline is). And some even have more resembles to the animals than humans like some body parts are more bigger than normal humans or have hair or paws in their hands.(Some people in both world this and the former might go crazy by seeing them. Not interested in them BTW.)
Numbers up to 8 millions this was estimated by the Millis Church in Millis. (BTW the numbers aren't accurate because it was written post-Laplace's war and after it a small... no big wars happened between human in Millis who were pushed to the corner not long ago but they kept wanting to anhilate the enemy until a new faction appeared made both races reach a truce. The book says if you want to read more read the book called: 'wars and hardships Millis faced until it reached the lambs' but the book also give the other author a solar plexus punch by saying the book is too biased to the Millis church and advices to ask the new faction about the truth).
3. Demon races, too many races to count, many extinct or nearly extinct, but must important race to be remembered, the race all of the other races are scared of, the bogeymen of this world, the Superds, one of the demon races. (They were Laplace's henchmen in the last war, killing everything that moves winning themselves the hatred and the fear of every living creature in the world even monsters think twice before disturbing them and some even says monsters were running from them.)
Number up to 5 millions maybe more, maybe less this was a rough estimate by also the Millis Church before the last non-aggression treaty started so no-one including the demons themselves knows the current numbers.
4. Sea people, not very open-minded with other races, especially humans because of bad blood between the both of the races. From the ancient times, because of war called the Second Demon War. (equivalent to WWII in this world, 3000 years ago.)
No one knows the current number but during Laplace wars they appeared north where a single small army consists of 3k warriors anihlated all of their enemies which was an army of 50k. (Of course the author said that Laplace and many strong figures were there which caused the win trying to help humans keep face but the message clear, humans win wars with numbers not powers).
So using basic math if they can send 3k soldiers to a war they only their to harass humans then their numbers must be at least 100 times more. (Using the basic math they should be at least 250k at least and 500k at most. That's if they didn't just send some volunteers during the war and they were hiding some trump cards back then).
5. Sky people - very isolated race, it's very rarely when they accept kind-hearted humans after years of tests, they only respect and meets with friends of Perigruies.
No-one other Perigruies knows how much they are but according to Perigruies himself he said once there numbers are lower than the current numbers of the seafolk at least by the half. (These words were said post-Laplace wars when he explained why they didn't participate in the war and one of them being that they didn't bother in joining a war they aren't part in).
6. Extinct races like the dragon race - last known was Urupen who disappeared after his fight with Laplace. (And the records says he wasn't a pure blooded from the dragon race, he was hybrid between human and dragon race.)
Currently people saying there aren't any but at the same time people say the saw someone resembles the race appears now and then. (They maybe extinct but their influence is huge that's why they were given a category alone).
7. Some other races like 'Talinca' one of the humanoid shape races, the Talinca known by the flower in their heads. As for the flower it grows in their heads and when human swallow it, if they have hemorrhoids they get healed from it, but it only works once and the author warns firmly, that if someone tries to swallow more than one may suffer hemorrhoids from the flower as side effect.
The race is almost extinct because of an idiot said they help in making paramacia without a proof and more idiots kept slaughtering the race even after the info proved to be false in hope of somehow cracking the code to acvhive immortality. (Okay the author didn't hold back at this point I read only the least respectable words in here he said way worse words describing the people killed the race).
With all this reading, I can proudly say that I could read fluently Human Tongue of this world, which I think is a rare feat at this age - but I'm not normal in the first place.
Also on some rare occasions Mom left the fifth book, It's name is 'The Magic manual', in front of me unattended. So I can read it, and I read it in silence, and Mom usually takes the book away before Dad comes home.
As for content: Magic in this world, like swordsmanship, has seven levels: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Saint, King, Emperor, and God. In this book the strongest spells are four advanced level spells:
- Earth Fortress (defensive earth spell.)
- Blizzard Storm (water/ice weather spell.)
- Sonic Boom (wind area damage spell. Or maybe sound class instead of wind? But the spell was in the wind class category.)
- Exodus Flames (fire destructive spell. I'm scared of what will happen if I tried it.)
I memorized (and used) all non-fire beginner level chants:
- Water: Water Ball, Water Arrow, Water Wall, Ice Sword, Ice Bolt and Ice Lance.
- Earth: Earth Lance, Earth Bolt and Earth Bullet.
- Wind: Gust, Wind Slice, Whirlwind and Wind Ball.
And I can use them in secret:
- Water Ball: used on dirty diapers. (Same can be said for the rest of normal water spells. Well I needed a miracle to explain the day I used『Water Wall』because Mom thought the diapers leaked out).
- Ice Sword: lick it once to favour the taste, (ice is something rare in this world and even during in the winter we don't waste a lot of ice because how rare the water resources out of the raining seasons), then let melt it by the sun. (Same done with ice category spells).
- Earth Bullets: hold in hand like ammunition. - Earth lance: throwable from the window. (Earth Bolt is treated similar to Earth Bullet the only difference is Earth Bolt thinner and taller).
- Air spells: no visible effects without targets. (Especially since I can't figure out how to shoot the spells out of my hands so all the spells that got summoned and after sometime they fall from my hands to the ground.
Also worth mentioning I can use spells from both my hands and my legs in other words from all of my limbs it still some polishing but I figured it out.)
Now I can feel "mana" (as it's called in this world) inside my body and because of that I mastered how to shoot spells from all of my limbs.
They have some kind of circuits throughout my body, like nervous system, but combined with circulatory system. I still can't understand how strange the inside structure of humans is in this world - when I'm old enough maybe I'll dissect a human body. (For science reasons I will explore it.)
For some reason I don't understand, I can overcharge my spells, like how I overcharged healing my lung with intermediate healing spell, Voola. After a full year and some natural fast healing of children, the hole in my lung is no longer producing pain, but a very small almost unnoticeable hole is still remains in it's place.
Also my mana reserves are nothing like said in the book, where they claim mana is set since birth. My mana reserve triples every day. I think I can sustain X-Healing for three minutes straight without mana exhaustion. And apparently my sleepy state that I create with magic is called magic exhaustion. I shouldn't push myself too much because I might die if I did. (That's what's mentioned in the book I supposed not to trust it but I shouldn't take the chances.)
Also for some reason, I can overpower my spells or make them weaker. (I can't understand how I can use the same spell but with almost 100 times the mana, and it works almost the same... no weaker on Mom's level but better than my usual by a lot).
One night I was using X-Healing to help me sleep (like the usual) and got the brilliant idea of overloading the spell with all my mana in one go. Thankfully Lilia had closed the door and left before that, and Mom and Dad were busy, because I unintentionally made the whole house glow green for three seconds. As for the effect, it healed my lung by 10% in one go.
If I do it twice more I think I'll be a healthy child, but it's high risk, high return. From what I understand, Dad and Mom made a promise that, I will be a knight like Dad. (The promise was made before my birth so I couldn't name my own opinion).
But if I want to pursue magic, that means I would have to drop the sword. If you want my opinion, I want both, but unfortunately this world doesn't know that term yet.
Let's return to the book content.
As for kinds of magic there are three:
•Attack magic
•healing magic
•summoning magic
All the spells in the book is attack magic except for one healing magic but with a different chant than the ones Mom uses. I tried it by the way, and it was useless. It is easier to grasp and lesser in the mana usage.
As for the chant.
「Oh god of nutrition, heal this one's wounds and regain the lost strength」『Heal』
The spell doesn't have any effects on anything, I tried it by using it after poking my finger with wood spike from the table. This spell didn't work, the normal healing healed it, the 『X-Healing 』one healed it with overkill.
Also, something I discovered about the North God, that he's a user of gravity magic, which I can't find any information about it. My inner child has almost 1000 ideas of how to use it, but I'll have to wait until I can discover how to do it.
The only thing I discovered on my own about magic, that you can release mana without releasing a spell, which is useless. Like why would I sacrifice my mana for no reason. (Except if I want to waste it daily without raising suspicions.)
When I hit a bottleneck or do something amazing in magic, I'll tell my family. (And try to persuade them to let me learn both magic and swordsmanship.) Also since I had started walking, I've tried to walk as much as I can. And now, I can climb up and down the stairs of the house stairs on my own, and I can almost run for five meters before falling to my knees. (But I continue crawling the last bit). My crawling speed is almost 1m/s. When running, I can crawl-run for 20 minutes without problems.
Worth mentioning, Lilia told me she was scared of me. Because always I was suddenly appearing next to her, or under her, or right behind her. Thinking about it, I was freaking her out without a reason, so I solved that bad habit. (I think).
Also I make an ice sword or earth lance in secret and repeat easy low-level moves that Dad does. (With the sword). To describe it: very hard, my arms are almost always sore because of the training. But my arm strength and grip got better, and unintentionally it improved my writing grip. In secret, I think I can call myself literate since I can write and read every single word in Human Tongue.
Well, it's good I have great talent for learning languages. That's a new high score - in one year I can read, write, and even talk in a new language. Everyone in the house thinks I can barely read letters, but being reincarnated I fully understand how to build words with what I know. But I still have problems with double meaning words though.
Also, since the day Mom caught Paul teaching me the Greyrat way with females, (the day she caught him showing me his swords skills in the garden), she started teaching me Millis faith whenever she got the chance. (Father, one day I will get my revenge on you, for making Mom blame me for something I'm still 17 years too early for it... Wait, hadn't I said this before?)
Also to my disappointment, they don't celebrate birthdays yearly in this world. They just remark that today is my birthday, nothing more. (What cheapskates - or did they just expect me to die and so they forgot about my birthday?)
Also I started calling Mom, "Mommy" and its effect is unbelievable, almost scary. With this I can ask anything and expect "yes" as an answer. And if asking for something I know she is going to refuse, I go for the next option: calling her "pretty", adding "please" to my words. Don't ask me how, but somehow I can now make stars appear in my eyes when asking for favors. Believe me, with this I got her to stop feeding me both the traditional way and nursing way. Finally after that, the whole household agreed to treat me as grown up. (Per Mom's orders).
(I should have listened to my high school teacher who advised me to pursue acting professionally, not just as a hobby. I could literally control the whole house alone).
Also I started calling Lilia "Ms. Lilia" for the simple reason that I owe her a big favor. If she told my family everything, I'd be in trouble. She protested at first when I called her respectfully, but when she realized where I'm coming from, she kept silent.
When angry with Paul I call him "father"; in normal situations, "Dad". I'm saving "Daddy" for a big occasion or favor. Otherwise I know how to control him by asking for sword advice or praising his swordsmanship.
Honestly, I love all of them very much. I can't live without any of them. In this one year I've grown very fond of them all.
Well, today is my birthday. In this world you can't leave the house before you're at least one year old because of fear of illness, curses, and traditions (kind expected this because this world's in the dark ages).
Also I asked Dad to show me swordsmanship from now on, and Mom was happiest that I didn't need any of her healing for the last five months. When she realized I was finally cured, she hugged me very tightly, cracking two of my ribs for the second time. (I'm scared - I think I'm gonna cry for real.)
Also I did catch Lilia doing questionable things in the master bedroom, but I just moved away silently. When Mom was going to the second floor, I made noise. Lilia realized I helped her, she smiled and nodded before continuing her work. (I feel like I have repaid 1% of my debt to her.)
About the house: we have six rooms upstairs including Dad's study and a guest room, leaving my room and my parents' big room. Finally we have a small storage upstairs and one empty room. Also I want to suggest built thicker walls without raising suspicion, or at least getting them to close the door. (I hate my new photographic memory.)
No need for explanation they forget to close the door and the bathroom is after their room.
My room is very spacious for me, and I love the free space in the first place. But I just hope they expand the house or move to bigger one. Before I get a third brother or fourth sister, because I don't want to share a room with curious siblings asking what's "that noise" is. (I wouldn't be able to answer.)
Don't blame me if I tell them they're playing. The problem is if my sibling asks to play the same game, very bad idea. If I say they're arguing. (Since they are saying bad words while "sleeping" together), I might traumatize the child. Maybe saying "I don't know" is the best option, but then, they might interrupt to ask. Still bad. Ahhh...
(My head hurts from thinking. Didn't they slow down for about a week, five months ago? Why did they stop?)
And that's how my life has been and what I've done in this period: finished a quick reading for the four books we have, became literate in a new language, explored the house fully, grasped everyone's personalities, and my first birthday is no different except for a fancier dinner table, and they included me in the numbers of plates.
