After treating Deaton, Scott, and Derek with his blood and going to Deaton's clinic, David stood in front of the group, massaging his temples tiredly.
Then he looked at Deaton and said, "So you're telling me that Alex somehow turned into a Lycan and killed more than thirty Argent's men and an ancient vampires single-handedly, and started the Worlex challenge and all the werewolves in this city, including that crazy Alpha who bit him and Scott, and they're all trying to kill him?".
"Yes", Deaton answered in a tired voice.
"That's impossible!" David slammed the table in anger. "I was there, Deaton! I was in the middle of the war! All the Lycans died! They became extinct five hundred years ago!".
"Shut up, David! I saw it with my own eyes, and I would never make a mistake like that!".
"Really?! Or maybe you've finally lost your skills, you old man!".
"Old man?! Is that the best you can do?! You call me an old man while you're a fucking 600-year-old vampire?! Have you run out of words or what, David?!".
"So where is Alex?! You told me to bring the plant! Then I would save his life but I don't see the boy anywhere!".
"Boom!".
Deaton slammed his hand on the table then stood up his eyes glowing white.
"maybe none of this drama would have happened tonight maybe no one was supposed to die tonight and blood was shed for nothing! If only you hadn't let that damn Alpha bite Jonathan's son!".
David got angry and said "listen to me carefully Deaton I might...".
"No!".
You listen to me carefully you put Jonathan and Margaret's son in danger because of your cowardnice!If you hadn't been afraid of the Alpha and saved Alex before he got bit none of this would have happened!."
"Wait a minute were you there that night?!" Scott shouted in shock at David then continued "why didn't you save us?! I saw you move you're so fast and you were definitely faster than that Alpha! If you cared about Alex that much then why didn't you make a move when that monster almost ripped us apart multiple times?!".
David fell silent and didn't answer.
"answer the boy David!".
Deaton said with extreme anger, his eyes glowing intensely and the whole place shaking a little from the effect of his magic and his intense anger.
"I didn't move because Alex's life wasn't in danger! And even if he was bitten, his body should have simply rejected the bite! I didn't know that this act could hurt and put his life in danger! and I definitely didn't expect the alpha will bite Alex even knowing he wasn't human!, And as for you!".
David pointed at Scott and said angrily "I don't care about you! Why should I save your life?! Actually I don't care about any of you!" David pointed at a sad Stiles, Derek who had a mysterious expression and the terrified Elena whose mind was trying to process the information she just heard.
Then David turned to Deaton and said "And you're calling me a coward?! While I risk my life for Alex and break into the headquarters of one of the seven originals packs?! And get your damn plant?!". David stepped forward forcefully, his eyes glowing red and veins protruding from under his eyes.
I kept my side of the bargain but you're the one who broke your promise to bring Alex back the way he was! Now I don't care if Jonathan's son turns into a monster that has been extinct for centuries, but I will find him and keep him safe no matter what, with or without you and anyone who stands in my way!".
David got closer to Deaton then continued I will kill him without hesitation! Whoever it is!"
Then David turned and stormed out the door and disappeared into the night.
"This asshole!". Deaton sighed heavily then turned to Scott and the others.
"Okay Deaton, I gave you enough time and didn't ask anything during this crazy night, but I think you owe us some answers!". Scott shouted angrily at Deaton.
Deaton sighed and said, "Okay, ask what you want, Scott".
"Okay, what did you mean when you said Alex turned into a Lycan? Is there a way to turn him back?". Then Elena intervened and said, "And what did you and David mean when you said that Alex is Jonathan and Margaret's son? Alex is Grayson and Miranda Gilbert's son! And he's my brother! You have to answer me!". Elena shouted loudly and emotionally.
The poor girl she had too much tonight for her.
"First", Deaton pointed to Elena and said, "No, Alex is not Grayson and Miranda's son. Your parents adopted him somehow. What proves what I'm saying is the crescent-shaped mark on his right shoulder. Alex's true lineage is from werewolves. His mother was an Alpha of the evolved wolves, and his father was the leader of one of the original seven packs of werewolves, the Crescent Pack or what was known in the past as the Laboner Pack. Alex has Laboner blood running through his veins, and he was never the son of normal humans like the Gilberts".
"As for you", Deaton pointed to Scott and said, "Alex was turned into an ancient and terrifying creature that was supposed to be extinct a long time ago, but Alex was turned into it because of that Alpha's bite. As for if he will ever go back to being who he was, I don't know. Lycans are born, not someone who turns into them somehow".
"So Alex's case is very severe and it wasn't supposed to happen! That's why I honestly don't know if he'll ever be the same again but I will try my best to bring him back safe and sound, Scott".
Deaton said with a stern, calm and thoughtful expression then looked at Elena and Scott who were shocked by the information and said "any more questions?".
"Yes"
at this moment Derek stepped forward and finally spoke after listening enough and said "you said that this guy Alex was turned into a Lycan by that Alpha's bite and I've heard many legends about Lycans but from what I know Alpha's bite doesn't turn people into Lycans only into werewolves I want to know how Alex turned into a Lycan".
Deaton sighed and said "well in hindsight you're right Alpha's bite doesn't turn people into a powerful creature like a Lycan but Alex is a severe case".
Deaton looked at Derek seriously and said "have you ever heard where the Hales family came from Derek?".Derek froze when Deaton mentioned his family, but he quickly collected himself and said, "Yes, theHiales family, or the Hill Pack for short, came from Louisiana, from a city called New Orleans, two hundred years ago".
"Do you know why they left the city, even though they were like kings there?" Deaton asked again.
"No," Derek answered briefly, then continued. "And I don't understand what my family history has to do with this, Deaton. Just answer the damn question!".
"It has everything to do with this! Two hundred years ago, the Hills Pack lived in prosperity and safety, and I was there, newly appointed as the guardian of the pack. Everything was fine, until one of the Hills' sons married one of the Crescents' daughters. These were two packs, two different types of werewolves. One transformed into a werewolf every full moon, and the other had complete control over whether or not it transformed into a werewolf. When these two types mated, they produced very strong werewolf offspring."
Deaton paused for a moment then continued "The resulting offspring could transform into a full wolf or a half mutant like you and Scott and they were faster, stronger and most importantly their bite was more deadly to vampires!", New Orleans was a swamp of death and destruction where there were many vampires, witches and werewolves who were fighting over the city and its possessions and on top of all these factions there was a certain family that ruled the city with an iron fist and constant fear!"
"They were stronger and faster than anyone and anyone who dared to oppose them died a horrible death!".
"Wh.. who were they?" Stiles asked in a slightly scared voice Deaton paused then continued
"The Mikaelsons".
"They are also known as the Originals!".Deaton said in a deep tone filled with fear, anger and hatred. Derek raised his eyebrow at Deaton's expression and tone of voice but said nothing.
"What does... Scott paused and then continued, "The Originals have to do with Derek's family?" Scott asked the golden question.
"Because they expelled the Hale family from New Orleans for fear of what the wolf packs' union might cause, for fear of the offspring resulting from this union."
"The resulting offspring is called:
"The Gammas".
"A new breed of werewolf, resulting from the union of different types of werewolves, The Gamma werewolves are stronger and faster than any werewolf, and their bite was more deadly to vampires. For this reason, the Hale family was expelled from New Orleans, because their presence posed a danger to the vampire community in New Orleans".
"The King of the city, Klaus Mikaelson has decreed that any werewolf who dares to produce such offspring will be completely exterminated, and their children, spouses, families, and entire packs will be killed".
"And Alex is a gamma werewolf".
"His mother was an alpha werewolf and his father was the leader of the Crescent Pack".
"This made him a target for any vampire in the world, but his existence was well hidden from prying eyes until an incident occurred 12 years ago". Deaton said with a sad expression, but he continued, "Anyway, gamma werewolves must activate their curse to awaken their powers, but Alex was bitten by the alpha before he could activate his curse. Normally, when a werewolf gets bitten, his body will reject the bite, and if he doesn't activate his curse, there is a high chance he will die a painful death. "Wait a minute, what is this curse and how does it activate? And if you knew the solution to treat Alex, why did you send David to pick a plant from the wild?" Scott asked with a frown and confusion.

Deaton waved his hand in the air and then a figure of a standing man appeared.
"More than a thousand years ago, the werewolves were a coven of witches who were cursed by one of their people. They were a coven that revered wolves, raising them and using them in hunting and their daily lives".
"The curse was to turn them into the monsters they revered".
The image changed in the air and was replaced by a man transforming into a wolf slowly and painfully.
"The curse makes its owner transform into a wolf every full moon without control over the transformation".
"When they transform, all the bones in their body will be gained, destroyed and rebuilt to become like the skeleton of a wolf. The transformation may take hours or more and the process is incredibly painful."
"The cursed person will lose any shred of sanity and will turn into a monster that does not know the difference between friend and foe and will kill and tear apart anything in its path".
The image changed in the air to appear in the form of a wolf pouncing on a group of fleeing and terrified humans.
Stiles swallowed nervously.
Deaton continued his words despite Elena and Scott's shocked expressions.
"In order for this curse to be activated, the cursed person must be stronger than a normal human, and be quick to anger, and always be in a state of rage and madness".
Elena and Scott's expression changed to surprise and clarity as they said in complete agreement, "This is why Alex was so quick to anger and strong for his age!".
But why? Stiles asked with a worried expression, "why the coursed person have to be like this?".
"To make it easier for them to activate the curse" Derek answered this time with a serious expression and a deep voice.
Elena felt really bad about this informations and said cautiously, "What the coursed person have to do to activate the curse?".
"He has to kill somebody." Deaton replied with a serious and deep expression.
"What?!" Scott, Elena, and Stiles said in unison and complete shock.
"Werewolves are by nature deadly creatures. For a werewolf to activate its curse, it must kill an innocent human to activate it's curse. That's why I sent David to pick the yellow wolf Strangler. Scott, it was that, or Alex would have had to take a life in order to his own survival from the effects of the Alpha's bite". Deaton said with a serious expression.
"But something went wrong, didn't it?" Derek asked Deaton.
"Yes", Deaton sighed and continued, "It seems that the spell I used and the plant I used, instead of repelling the effects of the Alpha's bite, made Alex's body absorb the magic and power from the bite's effects, which made Alex turn into…"
"A Lycan" Derek finished Deaton's words then looked at Deaton and said "so Alex turning into this monster was your fault after all".
Deaton's expression changed. "It was either this or I had him kill someone and then become a target for many vampires. I had no other choice."
"It's okay, Deaton. No one's blaming you. You were just trying to help," Scott said sympathetically, patting his boss on the shoulder.
"Thanks Scott I appreciate it".
"No! This is not okay Scott, how can you say that? Alex is gone, he turned into a Lycan or whatever that thing is called, and he killed dozens of people! How can that be okay?!" Elena said with an angry expression and eyes filled with tears.
Scott sighed and said, "Listen to me carefully Elena, what happened has happened. Blaming Deaton or anyone else won't help us now. What we have to do and what we have to figure out is find Alex and find a way to bring him back to the way he was."
"This is all that matters now and I will do what it takes to save Alex before he causes more death and pain, and I will bring him back whether he is Lycan or not I will never abandon him because that is what I owe it to him after everything what happened, as Alex is in this mess because I dragged him into it, on the night he was bitten, he just wanted to do yoga in peace but I convinced him to come with me and go with Stiles".
Scott looked at everyone present in the room and said "now who is with me?".
Stiles stepped forward and said, "I'll join you too, Scott, since I'm more to blame for this mess."
Stiles stood next to Scott and patted him on the shoulder and said, "Let's go and hunt some lycans. How hard will it be?"
"It's harder than you can imagine but I'm going to join you too it's the least I can do." Deaton also came forward and said.
"Consider me with you too. This is the least I can do for the son of the man who saved my life so many times". A new voice echoed in the room. Everyone turned to the door and saw David enter with a serious expression.
"I may not be a vampire, a werewolf, or a wizard with magical powers, but Alex is still my brother, and I will never abandon him as long as I breathe".
Elena gathered her strength and then stepped forward and stood beside the pack.
"Derek? Are you with us?"Scott asked Derek hopefully as a powerful werewolf like him would help them a lot.
Derek looked at the group in front of him and looked at Scott specifically and how he united everyone in the room then said
"I may not know this Alex like you but he also saved my life by killing that vampire who defeated me so I will join you and I will help you get him back, but There's something you should know".
"All of my family died in a fire six years ago. The only family I had left was my sister, Laura. She too died at the hands of the same Alpha who bit Scott and Alex. I came back to this damned town to avenge my sister, not to save people I don't know."
If I'm going to help you get Alex back, you'll also help me find that Alpha". Derek stepped forward and said, "Do we have a deal?".
"Deal, but I'm not going to help you kill him, Derek".Scott said with a serious expression. Derek smiled at Scott's naivety and thought, 'He's turned into a werewolf and doesn't want to kill anyone?'.
'What a naive boy.'
"done". Derek shook hands with Scott and didn't comment on Scott's last words.
Thus, the McCall Pack was formed for the first time, as it was a pack composed of humans, doppelgangers, werewolves, vampires, and druids, and the goal of it was to rescue one of their members, a Lycan.
But what is the Lycans basically and what is the difference between them and the other werewolves anyway?.
