A huge tentacle—thick as a tower pillar—shot out of the water, wrapped itself around the hull of the pirate ship, and dragged the entire vessel under in seconds.
Men didn't even get the chance to shout for help. One moment the ship floated on the waves, the next it vanished into the deep abyss, swallowed whole.
Every ship—pirate and sailor alike—fell into chaos.
"Kraken!" someone shouted.
"Maiden's Tits… MOVE !"
His voice was swallowed by the storm.
Even Thor, someone from 21st century and very used to VFX and Cinema was froze for a brief moment. The thunder god's memories and powers he inherited had many more dangerous beast who he not only faced but even came out victorious.
However, this wasn't the God Thor, this was the Mortal Thor who was facing something like this for the first time in his life. His hand twitch, by insticts alone he wished to summon Mjolnir.
However, the Kraken wasn't attacking them, it was attacking the pirates fleet. There was a good distance between them. If anything, the appearance of Kraken right now was good for them.
"MOVE, get out of here. Quick." Before Thor could say, the Captain steal the words out of his mouth. All Sailors sped up there pace like they were injected with some kind of performance enhancement drug.
The power that surged from below was ancient, massive, and angry. Far worst than any storm they had faced in their life. Surviving a storm as possible, not Kraken when that thing could submerge entire ships with its tentacles.
On the pirate flagship, Euron Greyjoy stared at the rising tentacles with wide, shining eyes.
All Greyjoys grew up hearing tales of the Kraken—their sigil, their pride, their legend.
If the Targaryens were the rulers of the sky with their dragons then they were the emperors of the sea. Even Dragons would find their winds cut off when they fly near the ocean.
But never had anyone actually seen one ?
Unlike the Targaryens who had Dragons once, Greyjoy had nothing to show for themselves. Even the existence of such magnificent creatures was at question. Most only have heard tales of the existence, never actually see them by their own eyes.
"Magnificent…" he whispered with an expression drenched in awe. For the first time, he had seen the magnificent of the king of the sea and he was in awe.
His men were screaming, rushing to load cannons and grab harpoons, but Euron simply stepped forward, hair whipping in the wind.
"A true Kraken… flesh and scale… alive."
His joy, however, didn't last long.
Another tentacle burst from the waves and smashed directly onto the deck of one of his ships. The mast cracked in half. Men flew like dolls. The Kraken wrapped its tentacles around the hull and crushed the ship before dragging it underwater like it was no more than driftwood.
"Two ships gone!" someone shouted.
"Captain! Do something!"
Euron snapped out of his trance.
"Load every cannon! Fire at will!" he roared.
His crew rushed to obey.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Explosions lit up the stormy sky, cannonballs flying into the dark ocean where massive shadows twisted.
The Kraken reacted instantly.
A third tentacle rose and slapped across the surface, ripping two pirate ships apart with one furious swing. Men were tossed into the unforgiving sea, screaming before the waves swallowed them whole.
Euron gritted his teeth, rage blooming in his chest.
"Reload! Don't stop! HIT IT AGAIN!"
More cannons fired. Harpoons were thrown. Some hit the thick tentacles but barely sank in before being flung away.
The Kraken thrashed wildly, waves rising like mountains around it, but even in its frenzy… there was something strange.
It didn't slashed out or run away. It kept on tossing the ships around. Not not defending itself, rather just targeting the ships theselves.
It was almost like it was looking for something. Or Someone.
"Why is it stopping?" one pirate whispered in terror.
Euron narrowed his eyes.
"Stop firing…" he muttered. He felt something was strong, the Kraken wasn't attacking directly nor it was running away.
'What are you up to ?' Euron narrowed his eyes in curiosity.
For a second, silence spread around the sea. No one seems to make any movement as if they were afraid that the one who made the sound first will be the target of these god's fury.
The Kraken had halted. Tentacles hovered in the air like massive serpents tasting the wind.
Then, without warning, it turned away from the pirate fleet.
"Captain—it's leaving!"
"I can see you num wit fuck…" Eron irritated, retorted back but his eyes was still on the Shadow form of the Kraken under water.
"What in the hells is it after!?" He muttered, mind racing.
Euron stared after the beast with a burning kind of madness.
"Follow it!" he commanded. "Now!"
But his crew didn't move.
"Captain… we've lost five ships already…"
"We can't take another hit—if we chase, we die!"
"Storm's eating us alive!"
Euron's face twitched with fury. The thought of taming a Kraken, commanding it, being worshipped for it—
—sent thrills down his spine.
But even he understood the sea's judgment.
His fleet was almost gone.
His men were terrified.
And the Kraken was already moving out of reach.
In the distance, Thor's ship still fought through the tail end of the storm, however, most sailors kept one eye at behind, trying to glimpse a hint of the Kraken.
It was myth came alive. If they really survived then they will have one heck of a story to tell once Lands draw near. A story of a lifetime.
Thor's eyes kept at the sea and soon his sharp gazes spot what he was dreading.
The Kraken dove beneath the water with terrifying speed, creating a whirlpool that dragged remnants of wreckage downward.
It surged forward, tentacles slicing through the waves.
Heading straight toward the sailor ship Thor was on.
Euron watched in silence, his face lit by lightning.
"That thing… it isn't done," he murmured.
Finally, he growled:
"Turn us around. What's left of the fleet retreats."
The pirates obeyed instantly. Cheers almost broke out, for once their mad captain seen reason.
The Silence and the few surviving ships limped away from the storm, leaving behind broken masts, splintered boards, and the echoes of dying screams.
Euron gripped the rail, glaring in the direction of the Kraken's path.
"We will meet again," he whispered with a twisted grin.
Unfortunately Thor and the Sailors weren't that lucky.
"Its coming. The Krakens coming for us." Thor shouted, mind racing at what to do. He hands already raised to call Mjolnir.
