After all, the method to awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan was a closely guarded secret, known only to the Uchiha patriarch.
Fugaku's talent was undeniably among the best in the current Uchiha generation.

A barrage of shuriken scattered toward the approaching Cloud Shinobi!
His teammate, Uchiha Taki, quickly formed a hand seal.
"If we go down, we're taking them with us!"
"Fire Style: Phoenix Fire Jutsu!"
Small but densely packed fireballs erupted from Taki's mouth, blending with Fugaku's shuriken assault.
For a moment, the sky was filled with burning steel, raining down upon the Cloud Shinobi!
But their enemies were no amateurs.
"Water Style: Water Barrier!"
The two ninjas from the Village of Hot Water joined forces to unleash a defensive ninjutsu.
A towering wall of water surged up, blocking the incoming attack.
The moment the fire struck the water, thick white steam billowed outward.
Within the mist, three or four figures charged forward.
All of them looked exactly like Fugaku!
He had created multiple clones and thrown himself into the chaos.
This fight needed to be won quickly.
But those who participated in this exam were all elites.
Even if they weren't as skilled as Fugaku, they weren't weak enough to be taken down instantly.
Kunai and swords clashed, sparks flying in every direction.
A ninja moved cautiously through the mist, searching for a target.
Then—
A pair of scarlet pupils appeared before him.
The world around him plunged into darkness.
When his vision returned, Uchiha Fugaku was already slicing a kunai across his stomach.
Not deep enough to be fatal—but enough to take him out of the fight.
"Wind Style: Great Breakthrough!"
A powerful gust of wind instantly cleared away the smoke.
Uchiha Fugaku reappeared.
His three clones had all been destroyed.
A fresh wound bled from his left arm.
But his assault had paid off—he had used his Sharingan's advantage to eliminate three enemy ninjas from smaller villages.
However, while he was cutting through his opponents, his teammate, Uchiha Taki, was also ambushed.
Mikoto rushed to help, but a Cloud Shinobi immediately blocked her path.
"Don't worry about me! Get out of here on your own!"
Despite his injuries, Uchiha Taki gritted his teeth and formed another seal.
"If I'm going down, I'm taking them with me!"
"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!"
A massive fireball shot forward, its terrifying heat roaring toward the Cloud Shinobi!
Troy smirked, spinning the giant shuriken in his hands.
"I can't let you steal all the glory now, can I?"
"Wind Style: Blaster Shuriken!"
The diamond-shaped shuriken in Troy's hands spun violently, generating a violent whirlwind that sliced through the incoming fireball with ease!
Uchiha Taki quickly leaped backward.
The giant shuriken barely missed him.
Just as he exhaled in relief—
Whoosh!
A sudden whistling sound came from behind!
"Watch out, Taki!"
Mikoto's urgent warning rang out.
Taki turned his head just in time to see—
The two flying shuriken had curved back toward him!
Before he could react, the sharp blades sliced across his shoulder, leaving a deep wound and a trail of blood.
Uchiha Taki collapsed.
He was out.
