"You didn't find her yet?" Sylas asked Caspian.
The atmosphere around Caspian tensed. The veins in his hand bulged, showing his rage, and storm brewed in his eyes. This made Violet stick closer to Lucas.
"I don't know which corner of the Earth she went off to die. If I get my hands on her, I swear I will break her legs and lock her up so that she can't even flinch!" His voice held aggressiveness and danger in them.
Violet involuntarily shuddered.
Whoever that woman was, Violet prayed she didn't get caught by Caspian.
Lucas bent and whispered to her, providing her context.
"It's his mate. She has been missing for five years now. There has been no clue of her up until now, but he is slowly losing his sanity," Lucas explained.
His mate ran away?
It wasn't common for a mate to run away.
Violet stood on her tippy toes and asked in a hushed tone: "Was it because he was abusive she ran away?"
