Shooting stars were often considered a mystical and rare event that not everyone could have the opportunity to see in the course of their lives.
At least, that used to be the case until recently in Remnant.
Now, however, all you had to do was look up at the blue skies above, and you would be able to see a beam of light, so fast that it could go unnoticed...if they didn't occur dozens of times a day and in different colors.
At first, there was fear among the population about this strange phenomenon, and for good reason. The last time a similar light shone in the sky, tragedy followed with the Golden Anomaly and the Red Calamity.
Not this time.
When these "shooting stars" shone, especially the white one, only good came of it, as it signaled the arrival of a muscular, spiky-haired savior.
An imposing and intimidating figure for men, but admired and desired by women.
Thanks to this mysterious man and the small group of pretty girls who followed him closely, which included the famous Weiss Schnee, the Grimm were becoming history!
With each passing day, more and more of those creatures were wiped off the map, and in just a few months, Remnant was ceasing to be a world cursed by darkness and becoming something that felt more like an impossible dream!
Better still, that wasn't the only problem being solved recently.
It started small, with the bandit tribe in Mistral being destroyed by the fury of a girl with flaming hair.
Apparently, this was the result of a conflict between mother and daughter, resulting in the younger girl's victory and the apprehension of one of Remnant's most notorious criminals.
Raven Branwen was that infamous, almost as much as Roman Torchwick, who was recaptured by the youngest member of the group accompanying the spiky-haired man.
Two significant names, but they didn't compare with those that followed.
The White Fang, the terrorist group of revolutionary faunus, had been disbanded, and their leaders, who included Sienna Khan and Adam Taurus, had been brought to justice!
Even more shockingly, Blake Belladonna, who turned out to be the daughter of the previous leader and a former member of White Fang, was responsible for the subjugation and imprisonment of all these criminals.
Karmic justice? Maybe, but it surely was just as poetic.
Be that as it may, a mixed reaction was the result.
Humans celebrated, and some of the faunus did too, but most of them were uneasy about the kind of change that could result from this.
While what the White Fang was doing was wrong, it worked by inflicting fear on the opposing race and forcing them to think twice before treating the faunus like dirt.
Fortunately, there was another significant change in Remnant that balanced things out and made everything better.
Jacques Schnee was removed from the leadership of the SDC and replaced by his eldest daughter, Winter Schnee.
Which was confusing, since the officially named heir was Weiss Schnee, but who understands the politics of noble families?
That, and the younger girl was making a name for herself as a Huntress around the world.
Not only Weiss, but Winter had succeeded in her military career by becoming a lieutenant in the Atlas army, but the losses they suffered during the Golden Anomaly must have been too much for her to continue.
In that case, leaving the front lines and withdrawing from a life of combat felt like the natural course.
At first, many had been skeptical about this abrupt and unexpected change in the richest company in the world, most believing that they were just trading six for half a dozen; a Schnee for a Schnee, especially when Winter had a reputation capable of striking fear into any faunus.
Very similar to her father, someone who was even used by parents as a horror tale to scare children.
"Behave yourself, or Jacques Schnee will take you to the mines".
But then, what everyone believed to be impossible happened, and the world was taken by storm.
Jacques Schnee and several other SDC board members were arrested!
They were all being indicted for exploiting, mistreating, and discriminating against faunus, as well as numerous other fiscal crimes involving members in positions of power and sabotaging rival businesses.
These people were no different from the leaders of the White Fang and would never see the light of day again as long as they lived!
Remnant was healing!
It's a shame that all these changes only began after the Golden Anomaly, the fall of Mistral, and the Red Calamity.
The lives lost could not be restored, not even with wishes being made daily to the shooting stars that shone in the blue sky.
Or so everyone believed, unaware of what was about to happen in Remnant.
A miracle the likes of which had not been seen since the Brother Gods still inhabited this world and were capable of defying the natural order...
...Just as Weiss was doing at this very moment as she flew freely through the skies of a better world.
On her path, only a trail of power and drops of sweat remained before disappearing over the horizon, left behind so fast that the scenery around her was constantly changing along with the local temperature.
One moment, it was hot over the vast deserts of Vacuo, then rainy in the turbulent oceans of Vale, cold in the frozen mountains of Atlas, and calm in the beautiful autumn of Mistral.
With each passing day, Weiss was reminded of how incredible Remnant really was, especially now that the Grimm had been almost eradicated by her and her teammates.
Like she had promised.
As a result, her blue eyes shone with more than just a sense of accomplishment at being able to see every detail of the world below, her heart leaping with excitement.
I suppose being in love makes everything more beautiful. Just the thought of her beloved made Weiss fly even faster. I'm almost there!
Then she would be free of this torturous training session.
100 laps around the world in her base form...as a warm-up.
Who the hell does that?!
Her beloved was too much!
In every sense of the word.
The way Vegeta did everything was intense to the limit, making him the embodiment of dedication and effort.
Honestly, it was inspiring and one of the reasons why Weiss kept flying non-stop, wanting to beat her best time from yesterday.
Something recurring during these almost three months... Well, more like half a year if Weiss counted the time she spent inside the Hyperbolic Chamber of Time.
A magical place where time passed three times faster than in the outside world, and perfect for training without worrying about causing unnecessary destruction.
Thus avoiding a repeat of what had happened in the fight against the Nergigante.
So, for the most part, they had focused on training control through meditation, and any increase in power had been secondary, but evident.
Now, Weiss could throw around power capable of destroying mountains without destroying even a tree.
Still, she had a long way to go.
Vegeta had shown her this by focusing power capable of destroying an entire planet in a single point and making just one leaf disappear from a tree.
That is true power.
That's why she was dedicating herself to surpassing any expectations her beloved might have for her, and it was working.
Weiss had grown tremendously in the last half year... In more ways than one.
Just looking down and seeing the generous size of her breasts made her smile like Ruby when she had a plate of cookies in her hands.
Now, Weiss could rival the beautiful figure of her own older sister, and that was like a dream becoming true!
One of many.
Bringing her criminal father to justice was certainly one of them.
As was convincing her mother to give up drinking and rehabilitate herself.
A joint effort where even Whitley had helped after almost breaking with the truth about the father he admired.
That was the first time Weiss had genuinely felt bad for her little brother, and it was also the first time she had acted like a big sister by holding him in her arms.
Thanks to this, a door to reconciliation had opened, and their relationship had changed.
Now, they felt like a real family...even if it was an incomplete one.
Better than it used to be, and it was more than evident that Jacques was the problem that kept them apart.
Another thing Weiss did, given the opportunity, was to put her plan into motion and introduce Whitley to Blake.
She'll never forget how awkward that had been, neither of them understanding what she was trying to do, only that they didn't like it.
At the end of the day, regardless of the changes that had taken place, whether in the world or in their family relationships, Whitley was a Schnee who admired Jacques, and Blake was a faunus who used to be part of the White Fang.
Neither of them knew the other, and their origins resulted in mistrust.
So it was only natural that there was a certain tension in the air when they met and didn't exchange a single word.
Bringing these two together seemed like an impossible mission and one that only got worse after seeing that Whitley and Ruby were getting along... too well, as Yang had said in a dangerous tone.
Apparently, her little brother was very good with complex schemes, mathematics, Dust applications, and had a certain appreciation for sweets, just like Ruby.
This just went to show how far apart they really were, as Weiss knew nothing about any of this.
Then there was Whitley's unexpected admiration for Vegeta, again being something he had in common with Ruby, and awakened after seeing one of the many rescue operations he led.
Thanks to this, Whitley had been inspired enough to start training under Winter's tutelage in the hope of one day being able to brave the skies.
This was especially true with how supportive Ruby was, encouraging him to keep trying and visiting him whenever she had the chance.
The irony. Weiss had a genuine smile just thinking about the way those two blushed after touching hands and realizing how close they were to each other. Sometimes things just don't work out the way you want them to.
Not that she was complaining.
While her plans to make Remnant an even better place by bringing together two people who used to belong to enemy forces, the happiness of her friends and family was more important.
After all, if those two ended up together, Ruby would join her family and become more than just her best friend; she would be her sister-in-law.
A year ago, the mere thought of something like that happening would have been like a nightmare. Now, however, it was more like a dream that she supported with all of her heart.
As for Blake, she had given up on Vegeta and wasn't interested in Whitley or even that faunus, Sun Wukong, who was enamored with her.
Blake had decided to focus on her training and what was best for Remnant.
A noble and sensible choice that Weiss couldn't question.
One day, Blake would find a worthy partner; she just had to give it time.
Yang, on the other hand, wasn't interested in waiting for someone else and was busy trying to convince Vegeta to accept her as his second "to-be" wife.
Talk about dedication.
Weiss would never forget the day Yang dressed up as a teacher, an extremely sexy and provocative one, and gave an elaborate presentation to point out the benefits that came with her.
90% of her arguments were different ways of saying that she was "hot," but there were also some truths behind her vain delusions.
For a start, there was the fact that Vegeta was royalty and one of the most powerful beings in the universe, so it would only be appropriate for someone like that to have more than one partner, but no more than two.
On this, Weiss had to agree, and it was the reason why she even entertained the idea.
Secondly, there was the fact that Vegeta was one of the last members of his race.
Apparently, there were only four pure-blooded Saiyans in this universe and four hybrids, one of whom was only 1/4 Saiyan.
A list that would soon dwindle as Vegeta intended to kill Kakarot.
In that case, he needed more heirs, and more partners would be just the solution.
At that moment, Weiss didn't know who was blushing more between her and her beloved.
The idea of having a child was one that every woman had thought about at least once, and Weiss was no different.
Ironically, however, especially considering that Vegeta already had a daughter, he seemed to be even more affected by the idea than she was.
Weiss would never cease to marvel at the fact that her beloved, an extraterrestrial entity who held divine power in his hands and was capable of destroying worlds without even trying, could act like an embarrassed teenager.
One of the many characteristics she loved about him.
Then there was the way Vegeta looked to her for help.
His eyes carried more than just shock; they were filled with confusion at the fact that Weiss wasn't opposing Yang's advances. On the contrary, she was supporting the idea and even asking him to consider it.
Unexpected, Weiss was sure, but it was a necessary choice to motivate him to emerge victorious from the fight to come and make a more sensible decision about the fate of Kakarot.
All to avoid retaliation, however unlikely, either from the stupid man's family or from the Omni King.
There is still time.
According to Vegeta, this fight would take place after one year, so there were still nine months until then.
A lot could still happen and change during that time.
Just as it had been with Remnant.
So, for now, Weiss would continue focusing on her training and improving to be able to help Vegeta grow stronger.
It was working, and now, she could even use martial arts.
So much so that no one else naturally born in this world could keep up with her.
Not even Ruby.
After absorbing and adapting to Vegeta's golden power, the difference between them had grown so much that Weiss could defeat her best friend without having to use any of her transformations.
The difference in power was even greater when compared to Blake and Yang.
Although the two had gained access to their Ki, Vegeta did it in a different way, without awakening their hidden power.
All to prevent another accident like the Red Calamity from happening again.
Because of this choice, Yang and Blake's Semblances didn't evolve.
So even though these two were much stronger than any Huntress ever was, especially Yang, they couldn't defeat Ruby's Advanced State even when working together.
Regardless, they remained a team and were getting along extremely well despite all the crazy things that had been going on.
Weiss never imagined the day she would have two best friends, even more so when they were sisters.
Yang had changed, especially after confronting her mother, and had become much calmer as a result, to the point where her presence was pleasant to be around.
Even Blake had come out of her shell a bit more and was interacting more with other people.
Weiss could only pray that these peaceful days would continue.
Time to go back.
To her new home and the place where her beloved was waiting for her to resume her training.
