Nasir flipped the menu, holding the corner of the page with the tips of two fingers, as if he was afraid of getting dirty from touching it. His eyes scanned the positions with clear disapproval… Not so much for the dishes that were on the menu - although items like burgers were never fancy enough, not even in gourmet restaurants, other positions, such as meat platters, could be found even in fine dining… Only that the quality and the presentation were different - but the way the menu itself looked. The laminated pages had seen better days…
And then there were the prices. High-quality things were expensive, while the dishes in this restaurant were not, at least as far as Nasir was concerned. Any hopes he might have previously had that this place could turn out to be acceptable despite the disappointing (according to Nasir's standards) interior were quickly dissipating.
"Are you sure you want to eat here?" he couldn't help but ask, lifting his eyes from the menu.
