JANE DOE POV
I'll admit, seeing Eros after who knows how long is a breath of fresh air. Working as an undercover officer is fun sometimes, but it's repetitive.
Find the gang, earn their trust, play with their hearts, and betray them after words. A simple routine I do every time.
Though it was becoming boring bit by bit. I didn't know how long it would last. I even thought of asking for a break once I was done with this assignment.
"Jane, did you get rid of the girl?" Asked the leader of the mountain lion gang, Razor.
"Yup, she's out of your hair, no more love confessions." I smiled and sat on one of the crates.
"Good, if she stayed any longer I wouldn't have killed her." He growled, and one of his hands was wrapped in bandages.
"More like try to, if you did try to fight her, you'd most likely lose an arm, the good one that is." I replied, pulling out a small hand-held mirror and fixing my eyelashes.
"You're probably right, with that crazy ability she had, I don't think I could win." He sighed. "Ever since one of our guys brought her, we've lost a few members."
"Don't remind me, she gave me a fright when she wanted to 'express her love' to all of us." I shivered at the memory, recalling the massacre she caused.
She only needed to make a small cut, and her blood was flowing everywhere, stabbing members, encasing them, and even cutting them.
Razor and a few elite members were able to hold her back, but I was the only one who could keep her complicated.
After speaking to her, god, it was a handful, she kept going on and on about her so-called chief.
It caused quite a stir when she said that, I nearly thought that my position was exposed. Though, when I asked if she was part of the military or PubSec, she denied it.
Which made everyone relax, though, what she said next made everything worse. She was a sinner, someone who was dangerous to the public, and she wasn't the only one.
Razor had suggested killing the poor girl, but she reacted by injuring his hand. In the end, I decided to have her stick with me.
Was it risky? Yes, but if I wanted information about this so-called chief, I had to be gentle with what I said.
Though she didn't know much. All I could get was her name and the chief's name, which was Eros.
She even mentioned people who were like her were called sinners, and there are others like her.
When I asked how a sinner is made, she said they are all infected with mania. A disease that has no cure, and has no limits to its spread.
I'll admit, I was scared. It takes a lot to make me feel scared. But this, this takes the cake no matter what.
I told her that I would help find her chief, but I had no idea where he was. Nor could anyone from the precinct.
We checked the cameras to locate him and walked the streets to find him. Yet, he was like a ghost.
Surprisingly the rookie who joined Zhu Yuan's squad made an interesting theory. What if he wasn't located in the city, but in the outer ring?
This caused the trail to go cold, since we didn't have any jurisdiction in the outer ring. And even if we did, the chances of finding him were zero to none.
After all, a secret organization that's hiding from the public eye wouldn't be found easily. But it seemed luck was on my side.
When I heard about the attack, I was curious about who was stupid enough to come in the hollow and face the mountain lion gang.
And lo and behold, it was Eros. The chief of the MBCC, and he wasn't alone. Besides the familiar face, there were new faces as well.
But I didn't charge in, instead, i stayed back to observe. I wanted to see what abilities they had, and report it to Zhu Yuan about this.
And I have to admit, two out of four showed dangerous abilities. One was enhanced speed, I could barely predict her movements.
While the other fired black orbs from her hands, causing the mountain lions a serious headache.
After recalling what had happened, I made my way behind Razor, placing my hands on his shoulder.
"Just relax, we got rid of the girl, and the so-called chief, that's enough for us." I purred, which was enough for him to relax.
"You're right, that girl won't be a bother anymore." he sighed before standing up. "For now, go find the others and tell them to pack up, its not safe here anymore."
I only nodded and soon left, once I was far enough. I pulled out my burner phone and made a quick call.
"Jane, it's a bit early for you to be calling." Zhu Yuan said, then it sounded more concerned. "Are you alright, have you been compromised?
"No, don't be such a worrywart." I giggled. "Though I may have a lead on the incident a while back."
"I see, head to a more secure location, then call again." Was all she said before ending the call.
Once I was in a more secure location, I called again. Not even a ring had passed before she answered.
"Jane, I heard from Zhu Yuan that you said you have a possible lead on where Eros is?" Asked the captain.
"Yup, and I have his current location as well." I said while pulling out another device, a tracker that showed Victoria's current location.
"I see, good work. Anything else?"
"Yup, the mountain lion gang is moving to a different location, so we have an excuse to have the chief of MBCC assist us." A smirk grew on my face, and I unconsciously licked my lips.
"I see. Keep up the good work, and keep us updated." The next second, the captain ended the call, leaving me alone.
"Better prepare yourself Eros, cus I won't let you go the next time we meet." I giggled, and my tail slowly wagged behind me.
"I can't wait to have a taste." I said while walking back, and soon saw an ethereal rushing at me, they raised their blade, but when they tried to strike me, a knife was the last thing they saw.
