[Hi hi, just a heads up, this chapter will contain something that is not cannon from the game, though now that I read it, I wish it was, this is so cool!]
I was close to losing my head once again, but I was saved thanks to Bai Yi, who shifted my stance at the last second.
"Geez, now I feel guilty letting you face her." Bai Yi commented, but jumped back to let me fight.
"That was unwise of you to send her away." Said the girl, the both of us began to circle one another.
"Well, judging by how you act, you prefer speaking through battle, rather than words." I commented and grabbed her arm, swinging the sword to her hand.
She twisted her body at the last second to dodge my strike, while at the same time raising her leg.
Aiming a kick directly towards my head, I was forced to release her to avoid being kicked and jumped backwards.
Yet the woman wasn't going to let me off that easy. She began to chase me, slashing her sword through the air to land a strike.
However, I began to parry her attacks, the only downside, my arms were shaking as I kept blocking each strike, feeling each blow felt like I was facing Bai Yi, or Angell.
Each strike I blocked forced me to step back, looking back. I could see I was about to run out of space.
'I can't stay on the defensive.' I thought, blocking multiple strikes that were slowly slipping through.
I soon saw a military light to our side, and knew if I hesitated. It would be over, as she pulled back for another strike, I tilted the sword in my hand, reflecting the light to shine in her eyes.
The second she closed her eyes from the light, I took the chance to go on the offensive, swinging the blade towards her arm once again.
However, she was able to parry it, even if her eyes were closed. She then slid her foot forward and used her elbow to strike me on the chest.
The second she made contact, I felt the pain of the strike. Followed by the air leaving my lungs, but I didn't falter, instead I took the chance to grab her arm once again.
This time, the spot I grabbed her was closer by her shoulder, preventing her from moving once again. My fingers clung to her body, almost to the point where I could dig into her flesh.
Now that she was stuck with no way to dodge, I raised the blade above me and began to strike her blade, trying to force her to let go.
Yet, her hand clung to the blade, acting as if it were a lifeline. With each impact of my strike, she would step back each time our blades connected, dispersing the power of my strikes.
Our battle soon caught the attention of a crowd, who looked at me as if I was insane. But my entire focus was on the woman in front of me.
"Just, surrender, now!" I shouted at every strike, but she didn't answer. Her eyes were glued to mine, not flinching as I kept trying to force her to let go.
I was able to push her back against a wall, and I thought I had the upper hand. But that thought left my mind when I saw her lift her foot, and placed it against one of the boxes.
She then pushed herself forward with all her might, forcing me to be pushed back. Causing me to lose my balance from the push, and nearly stumbled.
This was all she needed to swat my hand off her shoulder, while also creating a gap between us.
She then took the chance to run forward, placing her foot on the back of the blade to prevent me from using it.
While at the same time, she swung her blade at the handle, wantinng to break the sword in my hands.
Seeing what she was about to do, I reacted by letting go, causing her to lose her balance at the loss of the foothold.
As she fell forward, I reeled my arm back. My hand clenched into a fist, and I pushed my entire arm forward.
My fist then landed on her face, causing her to stumble backwards. As she regained her balance, she gently touched her cheek, only to pull it back and wince in pain.
"No one has ever struck me, this… is a first." She muttered to herself, the next second, she ran towards me once again.
I was quick enough to grab the sword, but not quick enough to properly block her attacks. She was becoming more relentless with each strike, pushing me back once again.
'Swords are no longer an option, I need to limit her movements to win this fight.' I thought and decided to take a risk.
The next swing was going to determine if the last minute plan I made would work, or not. The second our blades met, I began to push forward again.
Seeing that I was about to corner her, she planted her feet to prevent me from pushing further.
As soon as she saw me smile, she realized what I had planned. But it was too late, I moved to the side, guiding the sword away from me.
Her entire balance was now off, and she was falling towards the ground, the trajectory was now aimed at my fist, that was slowly approaching once again.
The second I had punched her again, she took a few steps back. But she didn't look away from me.
Instead, she rushed forward. Appearing in front of me and grabbing me by the collar of my shirt.
'Oh, I played myself.' The next second, I was flung over her shoulder, watching the world spin in front of me. I saw multiple people staring at us, more specifically the sinners.
Bai Yi was staring at me as if it was the funniest thing she ever saw. While K.K stared at me with her arms crossed, observing the fight.
Meanwhile, Eve had her hands clenched on the doll, squeezing the poor toy with worry. Summer herself was recording the interaction, most likely to study the combat style the girl was using.
Then, I saw Belle. Her eyes, they seemed prettier. But I saw how she looked like she was about to cry.
'This… never happened before.' Our eyes were now connected, staring at each other while time was slow.
'I don't want her to cry.' Was my last thought before I felt something click. After that, everything went dark.
BAI YI POV
"Ahhhh shit, chief snapped." I sighed, closing my eyes and placed my hand on top of my head.
"What? What do you mean he snapped, what's going to happen to him?!" Belle asked, her voice now sounding higher.
"Well, this happened a while back when we trained him…" I started, but Belle widened her eyes and looked like she was about to cry.
"You trained him?" She said in a hush tone. "All of you trained him?" Oh man, don't look at me like that, now I'm gonna feel like I kicked a puppy.
"Yes, we trained him, he asked us to, and we agreed. Some taught him how to handle a gun." I remembered when Langley stood behind chief, pointing her deagle at chiefs head
"Some of us taught him how to use a sword." I then recalled a memory of me, Angell, Sumire, and any other sane sword user taught him.
"Heck, some even taught him close quarter combat." I then recalled the time when both Demon and Rahu stepped up to train the poor guy.
I sighed and smiled, remember all those time I saw his body. Those muscles bulging from all the combat, the sweat making him even sexier, I couldn't help but bite my lip.
"U-uhh, Bai Yi?" Hearing Belle's voice made me snap out of my thoughts. I then coughed into my hand and began to talk.
"At some point, one of the sinners, not naming who, taught him how to enter a blank state." I explained.
"Like… going in the zone?" I took offense to that on a personal level as soon as she said that.
"Yes, like going in the zone." I patted her head, while giving her a reassuring smile. This was enough to calm her down just a little.
"Now, not many people can do that, since they have to be focused, slowly shuting off their surroundings." I explained, focusing on the fight in front of us.
"Not all of the sinners know how to enter this state, yet, the few who do are very terrifying." I said and recalled the times we saw chief trying to get in the zone.
"Chief himself, he's still learning on how to get in the zone. Though, he has trouble getting out." Belle then turned to face chief, who's eyes were blocked by his hair.
"So… what happens if he's in the zone?" She asked with concern, I myself still remember the time he was able to enter that state.
"Just watch." Was all I said to her, while focuseing on Chief. He was now on his feet, his body standing straight and his hair was covering his eyes.
The woman herself jumped back as far as she could, causing Belle to look confused. "Look at her hands." Was all I needed to say.
When Belle stared at the woman's hands, she saw that they were trembling. "Now look at how she's breathing." I said to her.
The moment her eyes landed on the woman's face, she saw that she was breathing too quickly.
"W-what'a causing this, why is she acting scared?" She turned towards me, but I didn't need to say anything.
"Well that's a simple question, it's because she's part animal." Summer butted in the conversation, with a box full of sweets.
"Since thirens are part animal, they are prone to have a sixth sense, their instinct." She said, munching on a few pieces of candies.
"Right now, the chief is unconsciously releasing some sort of bloodlust, making Miyabi's instincts tell her that she is in front of a predator." Belle then looked at the ground her hands clenching her shirt.
"Then… how can he get out of the zone?" She whispered, I could see that she cared for Chief, no, Eros.
"If things go too far, we'll step in." I sighed but continued to focus on the fight. Both of them didn't move, nor did they flinch.
The first to act was Eros, who shot forward to grab my sword that was on the floor, gripping the handle with both hands and swinging it as if it were a great sword.
"Oh, guess he's starting off with Nox's fighting style." I commented, watching as he rushed forward.
The now named Miyabe reacted by defending herself from the strike, but instead of standing her ground, she pulled back, as if a prey was running from a predator.
Eros, on the other hand kept closing in, striking over and over again with the same brute force.
After defending for who knows how long, Miyabi slipped past him and tried to strike him from behind.
However Eros reacted instantly, blocking the blade with ease. After that, he shifted his head to the side.
The second he shifted his head to the side, we all saw Miyabi jump back once again. Her trembling hands were becoming more noticable.
Eros himself stood where he was, the blade still behind him. The people surrounding the two were now concerned, staring at both Eros and Miyabi.
Whispered began to float around, some were fearing Eros himself. Some even looked like they wanted to step in, yet they were stopped by someone.
"Seems someone is keeping the cannon fodder in check, not surprised." K.K commented, looking around to see who held the highest authority.
"K.K, ignore them, just focus on the fight and get ready to step in." K.K only huffed but returned her focus in front of us.
Eros then charged once again, switching from a two handed style, to a one handed style. "Seems he's going for Sumire's style." I said and saw that he was focusing on stabbing and short swings.
Each swing and stab were an attempt to break through her defense, and it was slowly working.
Miyabi was already struggling to keep him back, then, it went from bad to worse. Chief used his free hand to grab her collar.
The second he grabbed her, he threw her towards him, kneeing her stomach with enough force to make her bend forward.
He then shoved her to the ground, and raised the blade, preparing to stab her where she laid.
I wanted to rush forward to stop him, but I stopped when I saw three solders rush towards him. Trio were a pair of ladies, and one guy.
The first woman was an office lady, she wore a white dress shirt, with a black bow tie. She was even wearing a skirt, like the lady that's facing Eros.
The man himself was also wearing a white shirt and black tie, but he was wearing a yellow bandana around his head.
Including a choker on his neck, now, I'm not one to know fashion, but my thoughts are leading me that he's an M.
In his hand, he had a bow, with the quiver behind him that held all his arrows. Yet, I'm more drawn to the front part of the bow.
Looking closer, I saw that it was metal. And I grinned at the sight. The bow was made from two curved short swords, pretty creative if I do say so myself.
Maybe I should ask Summer for something similar. Nahhh, I don't have the money for that, besides, I prefer my swords.
Now, getting back on topic, the man also wore what looked like a jacket around his waist, with one of the sleeves having the number six.
He also wore a chest guard, which covered the left side of his chest. The chest guard, also had a sleeve that covered his arm.
Finally, the man wore black pants, and black shoes, with the soles being yellow. I had to admit, I'm noticing a pattern.
And now on the second woman, well, more like a child. And I had to do a double take to make sure I wasn't drunk, the kid had blue skin.
White hair was on her head, all spiked upward, and she had two horns on her head. She had a loose white shirt, with the same black tie, which was also loose.
And the weapon she uses, I have no idea what it is. Is it a sword, is it a metal block? I don't know, all I know, the four of us need to step in.
"K.K take the archer boy, I got the pink hair, and Eve, you got the blue kid." Was all I said before everything began to slowe down, and I took my time to walk up to the woman.
I began to walk around her, trying to understand her role in the situation. The more I stared at her, the more I saw her as a mother.
I then shrugged and unsheathed my second sword, and was about to place it on her throat. Yet, even if I was moving faster than everyone else, she was trying to pull back.
This was first, someone, other than a few sinners, is reacting to my speed. I don't know if I should be annoyed, or impressed.
In the end, I grabbed her and held her in place, placing my sword up against her throat.
Time soon began to flow normally, and I pretended to act hurt. "That was rude, am I that ugly?" I asked, and even had my lower lip tremble.
"I-it's not like that… I didn't… I mean… How?" Before she could continue, I placed my finger on my lips.
"Sorry, that's a secret." I winked and stared at K.K who was fighting the archer. I'll admit, she's doing well on her own.
After watching them fight for a few more seconds, K.K was able to grab the guy's shoulder, stopping him from moving.
In return, the guy soon pulled out one of the arrows and slammed the tip on her arm, where lightning began to run across her body.
Yet, nothing happened, after a few seconds, the lightning died out, and both the guy and K.K stared at the now useless arrow.
"No hard feelings, right?" The guy chuckled nervously with a forced smile. All he received was a shoulder toss, and was slammed on the floor, with K.K bending his arm behind his back.
"Hey, watch the shirt, I just had it washed!" K.K slammed her tonfa next to his head. "I'll shut up now."
I then turned to the blue kid, who was shaking like a leaf. In front of her, was one of Eve's toys, a large teddy bear that was looming over her.
"Ahhhh…. Ahhhh… Nagi!!!!" Oh man, now I feel like a bully. The girl looked like she was about to cry.
"Summer, hurry up and knock the chief out!" Summer only pouted, but began to type on her keyboard.
Three drones soon flew in from nowhere, all which flew towards Eros. One of the drones latched onto his legs, forcing him to kneel onto the floor.
The second one flew to his arms, preventing him from dragging his body anywhere. Don't want him acting like a monster.
As for the third drone, it wrapped around his lower face, releasing anesthetics to knock him out.
He struggled at first, trying to remove the restraints. His eyes focused solely on Miyabi, who was still on the floor.
After a few more seconds, he was slowly falling asleep. His eyelids were fluttering close, yet his eyes remained on Miyabi.
As soon as he fell asleep, the tension that was in the air dissipated. And everyone began to let out a sigh of relief.
"Summer, you deal with the whole situation, I'm gonna take a nap!" I said and picked up my sword.
I soon clicked my tongue in annoyance while staring at the blade. I could see small dents forming, and I saw a hair of a crack.
"Great, if only I could call Mess." I muttered, I then felt someone tapping my shoulder, looking back I saw that the office lady was looking at me sheepishly.
"I'm apologize if I'm being rude, but could you tell your friend to leave? Soukaku is… how should I put it?" The lady asked me, and I saw the kid behind her.
"The teddy bear scares me." She said and hid behind the lady. I turned behind me, and saw the teddy bear she was talking about.
The toy itself had multiple colors of cloth, ranging from white, black, and grey. With stitches running across its arms, shoulder, head, and legs.
Its hands were mostly metallic claws, and its mouth only had a fanged smile. With two large black buttons staring at the girl. It noticed Soukaku stare, and raised its metallic claw to wave a hello.
However, Soukaku showed a different reaction, by hiding behind the lady. This caused the teddy bear began to walk away, with its head hung low.
"It's okay." Eve said while rolling to it's side, patting it's arm in reassurance. It didn't do anything else, it only walked towards the box, and looked at Soukaku one last time.
Who was peaking behind the woman with tears, it gave one last wave before stepping in the box, and closing it on itself.
[Welp, now that we encountered the mother, the child, the lazy liar, and the melon addict. How will this story go? Also, the author wants to apologize for the mix up, since this place has been glitching, I feel bad to be honest, but, its not my problem. Bye Bye!!]
