A listless sigh escapes my lips as I make my way towards the main entrance of the palace.
I just feel so tired of everything. It has been five years still, I have not been able to claim the throne, even with Ashwin out of the way. It was total chaos after father found out Ashwin was dead.
He had declared a month of mourning for him, there was no joyful event to be conducted within this period, he would not even look me in the eye like he knew exactly what happened.
My lips flatten as I reach the door. I gently push it back, making sure it does not creak, so I do not wake up the sleeping guards.
So they sleep on post. Sigh.
I breeze past, my head spinning with thoughts as I make my way to the garden. As I venture closer, a knot tightens in my chest. An ominous feeling hangs in the air making it difficult for me to breathe.
"What is wrong this time?" I mumble, a deep frown furrowing my brows as I push myself closer to the garden.
