That way, even if they couldn't kill him, he wouldn't be able to cause any major trouble. This was good news for everyone across the seas, and they would all be happy to see Blackbeard suffer.
In that instant, Blackbeard felt the deep-seated animosity of everyone present.
With a smirk, Ikki pulled out another Devil Fruit. This was a Monkey-Monkey Fruit he had found earlier, but he never expected it to come in handy so soon. "You're so lucky, Blackbeard! You'll be killed by a bunch of Devil Fruits!" he said. "Even if they're all garbage, it still adds up to 300 million Berry!"
Seeing this, Blackbeard instinctively took several steps back, trying to get away from Ikki. But before he could even breathe a sigh of relief, he saw Garp rummaging through his Marine coat. To Blackbeard's horror, Garp also pulled out a Devil Fruit.
This sight left Blackbeard completely stunned.
Sengoku looked on in confusion. "Garp, why do you have a Devil Fruit on you?" he asked.
Garp scratched his head and chuckled. "I had it just in case I needed to scare Kaido. It's a Mouse-Mouse Fruit," he said, holding up the fruit. "It's completely useless! But it just so happens to be useful right now."
Sengoku and the three Admirals nodded in agreement, a rare moment of praise for Garp. Since Blackbeard, much like Kaido, seemed impossible to kill, they might as well try to burst him with Devil Fruits. The Marines could easily afford the 100 or 200 million Berry it would cost.
At that moment, everyone at Marineford and those watching the live broadcast on Sabaody Archipelago couldn't help but laugh. Watching Ikki and Garp each pull out a Devil Fruit, both aimed squarely at Blackbeard, was incredibly entertaining.
Of course, some people had strange expressions. It was the first time they had ever witnessed such a bizarre scene.
Blackbeard's face was a mask of fury. He shot a resentful look at Ikki before clenching his jaw and making a critical decision. He suddenly reached behind his back and pulled out a box. He quickly opened it, revealing a Devil Fruit inside.
"It can't be!" Sengoku and Garp exclaimed, their expressions changing instantly.
"Could it be..." Whitebeard's face also turned grave.
Without a second thought, Blackbeard took a bite of the fruit and swallowed the bitter pulp. His sudden action took everyone by surprise.
He then pressed one hand to the ground, and the entire island began to vibrate. Everyone watched in horror as all of Marineford started to rise into the air.
"That's Shiki the Golden Lion's Float-Float Fruit!" Sengoku spat out bitterly.
The Float-Float Fruit?! It had been in Blackbeard's hands this whole time?!
Everyone was shocked. The Marines, the Army, CP, and the Revolutionary Army were all in disbelief. They had spent so much time, money, and energy searching for the Float-Float Fruit, only to find that it was already in Blackbeard's possession. Such a powerful strategic fruit in the hands of this man was an absolute nightmare.
Sabo's face darkened. "This is bad. The Float-Float Fruit is a major problem. I'll have to discuss this with the leader."
Sengoku immediately gave a command. "Everyone, put all your effort into killing Blackbeard! Garp, you must feed your Devil Fruit to him. He absolutely cannot be allowed to live!"
At this moment, Blackbeard was now a user of three Devil Fruits. He had a Logia, a powerful Paramecia, and a less useful Zoan. He had become a clear enemy of the Marines and the World Government. They could not afford to let him escape.
Garp and the three Admirals didn't hesitate and immediately rushed toward Blackbeard. However, Blackbeard was different now. He had complete control of the air, and Marineford itself was in his hands. He could do whatever he wanted.
"Thief ha ha ha ha! You can't kill me!" Blackbeard cackled wildly. "Even though there were a few accidents, I still couldn't eat Dad's Tremor-Tremor Fruit, and I was accidentally fed a garbage Zoan Fruit. But that won't stop me from taking over the seas.
I'm still the only person in the world with three different types of Devil Fruit abilities. Soon, I'll rule the seas and become the new Pirate King! Thief ha ha ha ha!"
Many people were intimidated by Blackbeard's words, especially those who knew the power of the Float-Float Fruit. They had been right to try and kill Blackbeard before, because now he had become a true threat. The seas would no longer be peaceful.
Of course, there were also people who loved chaos, like Doflamingo. He threw his arms open and laughed maniacally, shouting about the arrival of a new era.
"Marines are justice? Pirates are evil? Those things are decided by the strong!" Doflamingo said. "Justice will prevail? Of course! Because the victor becomes justice!"
Doflamingo was going on with his famous, slightly unhinged quotes. He was clearly pleased with how this battle was turning out, as the more chaotic the world became, the happier he was. This was the perfect chance for him to expand his underground influence and make more money.
His power was about to grow!
"Gomu Gomu no..."
Suddenly, a high-pitched voice echoed across the battlefield, and the Straw Hat wearing rubber man appeared in front of Blackbeard. He smashed a huge fist, wrapped in both Armament and Conqueror's Haki, right into Blackbeard's head.
"I'm the one who's gonna be Pirate King!"
"Gomu Gomu no: King Kong Gun!"
BOOM! Blackbeard was hit squarely by the punch. Blood gushed from his mouth, and his eyes rolled back in his head as if he was about to pass out. He was sent flying like a cannonball, creating a massive crater on the floating island.
Luffy's brazen attack shocked everyone. The most powerful people present could see that Luffy's control of both Armament and Conqueror's Haki had progressed to near perfection. The punch he just landed was no weaker than the one Whitebeard had used on Blackbeard earlier. Straw Hat Luffy, a member of the Five Emperors, had grown to rival Whitebeard's power!
"Cough, cough, cough! That damned Straw Hat kid!" Blackbeard's hoarse voice came from the crater. He slowly floated back up, looking even more battered and bruised than before. His injuries had clearly worsened. He glared at Luffy and Ikki with furious eyes, gritting his teeth.
He then made a gesture, and the ground beneath his crew split off from the rest of the island and floated over to his side. As for the rest of Marineford, Blackbeard wouldn't leave it for the Marines. This was not the time to stay. It was better to leave and head to the New World to claim territory.
"I'm not forgetting what happened today, Straw Hat Luffy!" Blackbeard yelled. "And that bastard Ikki! The Whitebeard Pirates and the Marines! You're all my enemies! I'll wipe every last one of you out one day!"
