Chapter 26 - Chapter 26 - The Aftermath

Yeon Woo sprinted to the edge, her breath ragged, her heart hammering against her ribs. But it was too late.

Hye Jin was gone.

Min Jae stood frozen, his face a blank, unreadable canvas. He didn't scream. He didn't cry. He simply turned away.

Seo Jun lost consciousness before they could take him to the hospital.

---

The police raided Hye Jin and Seo Jun's house the next day. They combed through every room, every hidden corner. And then, they found it.

The room of horrors.

Paintings smeared with blood. Photographs of victims, their lifeless faces twisted into something grotesquely artistic. A diary, filled with precise sketches of each murder.

Yeon Woo felt sick. She had known, but seeing it laid out like a museum of nightmares was something else entirely.

She clenched her fists. "Case closed."

---

Min Jae visited Hye Jin's grave.

"Why?" he whispered. "Why did you do all this?"

His fists trembled. He blamed their father. If he hadn't pushed her… if he hadn't turned their family into a twisted game… would things have been different?

---

Meanwhile, Seo Jun woke in the hospital. He didn't remember. His mind was blank. Every time he tried to recall, he saw flashes—blood, a smile, falling lights—but it didn't connect.

The doctor sighed. "He's in shock. His mind is protecting him from the truth."

He was released days later, returning to his empty apartment. He searched for clues. Anything. And then, he found the diary.

The drawings. The words. The murders.

His hands trembled. Had he done this?

Had he been the monster all along?

---

In the months that followed, Seo Jun began writing. He wrote about the girl he loved. About the darkness that swallowed her whole. About a love story drenched in blood.

The world loved it.

His book—"My Favorite Psychopath"—became a bestseller.

But Seo Jun still couldn't remember.

And maybe… it was better that way.
