Chapter 10 - Céline Leonhard 2

"WH…what do you mean!?" Céline asks with a shocked expression on her face. Sophie steps forward so as to hear Hugo's explanation on the matter.

"We are also just as surprised as you are. When Eunhyang and I left the room so that we can let them play and to know each other we meet Lily and Roxanna and when we went to look at them we saw that they had turned into cubs." Hugo explains to his mother on what happened to Gray and his cousins the brief moment he and his wife left the room.

"This has never ever happened before in the current family generations." Sophie says now standing next to Céline while looking directly at Gray making him feel uncomfortable.

"I wonder what Lyon will say when he hears this." Céline says with a worried look on her face.

"Weeeell…" Eunhyang starts off nervously.

"'Well' what. Don't tell me…" Céline starts off with a more worried look on her face.

"He knows mom." Hugo says with a calm voice. On hearing this Céline clenches her fist tightly not in hatred on her husband but in fear, she knows the kind of man she married years ago. Despite the fact that she still loves her husband a lot, she feared his dark nature almost evil personality. After all he was known as the golden black lion by those that were friends with him or better by all those that crossed his path the heavenly demonic lion, after his brutal killing spree during the great war when he heard that his first son, the son he cherished he most, Grays father, died. It is said that after killing hundreds of thousands of people a river blood was created in the battle field and a mountain of bodies of both enemies and allies during the war. After that he vowed that he will make sure the next clan leader will never be weak and he will personally take them under his wing and train them creating the ultimate weapon that must surpass him. All this was said in the presence of all his wives that includes both Céline and Sophie. The reason for this was because he thought that the cause of Julian's death was due to weakness caused when a person is in the battlefield for a long time

Sophie seeing Céline reactions takes her hand and squeezes it gently since she knew what was at stack here. Céline sensing her concerns calms down.

"Am sorry bu…" Hugo is cut off by his mother.

"There is nothing we can do now that he knows. All we can do is pray that the children have a good future your child, Lily." Céline says with a now calmer voice as her normal demeanor returns.

"What do you…?" Roxanna starts off but is also cut off but the grand patriarch's wife.

Céline turns around and walks "Am sorry but that's the best we can do." Céline says as she walks back to her sit and servant pour tea in to her cup.

"But…" Hugo is cut off by Sophie who stares at him to keep quite.

"Know that all of you hold these children's future and how they will relate with the gran patriarch. Despair and sadness, these are some of the things they should not feel or go through such things at such a young age for if they do, it will serve as a door which will cause them to..." Céline says with a cold voice as she holds the cup of tea but then stops herself from saying anymore.

Just then the clouds start to gather in the sky and two carriages enter the manors gates.

Céline sighs "Look at me spouting nonsense. The children will have a good life." Céline says. Lily and Roxanna look at each other in confusion.

"I cannot tell them about the patriarch's plans..." Céline eyes turn to the direction of the windows, where outside there is a figure of a person who is eavesdropping on them.

"That old man he is making sure we keep our mouths sealed shut. But I must at least make sure that my grand kids don't fall in his hands." She bits her lower lip.

"But..." Sophie starts off which brings Céline back to reality.

"…for lily's child sake and even for the rest of your children's sake, it would be best if your child, Lily, was to be introduced to your family…the one that raised until here." Sophie looks at Lily who at first is bits her lip then sighs in relief.

"If it's them there is no need to rush. Our eldest brother decided that when Gray reaches of age, he will go there." Lily says with a smile.

"Make sure that by then your son doesn't have any encounter with the grand patriarch." Céline says with a stern voice.

"Yes…mother." Lily says.

"Now let me hold my grand kids. I can't imagine that they managed to awaken their beast transformation ability. I can imagine how thrilled Raul will be to see this." Céline says with a joyful smile as Lily gives her Gray and she stretches her arms so as to get a better look at him.

Eunhyang gives Sophie Eugene while Roxanna gives Céline iris after she places Gray on her lap. The room is filled with laughter and joy as they play with the three cubs.

Just outside the mansion, two carriages stop right next to the stairs in front of the mansions entrance. Victor walks outside the mansion doors and walks up to the edge of the stairs. The carriage doors open and a man and a woman come out of each carriage.

"What has brought his lordship and her ladyship here?" Victor asks looking at the two from the top of the stairs.

"Do we need a grand reason so as to come here?" The woman with her big black floppy hat and a black dress, says.

His response low, quite but sharp as a steel blade.

"What do you mean by 'we'?"

"I am here to see the cubs who think they can stand against my children for the title of family patriarch."

The last words echoed across the courtyard like a dagger sliding across glass-"children."

Emphasized. Deliberate.

The woman's lips froze in a tight smile, but her grey eyes flared with fury-a momentary crack in the mask she wore. Her nails bit into the fine fabric of her gloves, a twitch in her cheek betraying the storm rising behind her elegant façade.

"How dare you..." she begun, voice trembling with rage, but he was already moving.

The man walked without another word, the tails of his black coat whispering behind him like trailing smoke as he ascended up the manor's grand staircase. All the while, his face remained hidden. The arch of the manor's shadows masked it, and he never turned.

The woman still infuriated, sighed and started ascending up the stairs walking behind the man.
