I watched as the Alpha sat on the throne, the weight of his newfound power heavy on his shoulders. His posture was unyielding, but the uncertainty that flickered in his eyes when he thought no one was looking was enough to make my heart twist.
I used eye contact to warn him, the Blackthorn was a threat, not an opportunity. But no, he had dismissed my words as if I were nothing more than a child.
A mere nuisance.
Yet, in the quiet moments when his back was turned, I saw the cracks in his mask,I saw the confusion in his gaze as if the decisions he made were not entirely his own.
