Aurora stood in front of Alex's room, her hands feeling too heavy to knock on the door.
A few times, she considered returning to her room and simply pretending to be asleep.
'If I pretend to be sound asleep, I'm pretty sure Alex will let me sleep, won't he?'
She suppressed a smile, delighted by her clever plan.
'Yes, I should do that!'
Aurora clenched her hands in agreement with her idea. However, just as she was about to head to her bedroom, her cell phone vibrated in her hand.
Upon reading the text message from Alex, a chill ran through her.
"What are you doing standing in front of the door? Feel free to go in first; I'm in my office and have something to take care of."
'Oh my! Did he watch the CCTV?' Aurora thought, casting a look at the camera in the corner.
She flashed a smile at the camera before she opened her bedroom door.
Standing behind the door, Aurora rubs her chest to calm her racing heartbeat. She feels relieved to find the room empty.
